Beltane (also known as May Day) celebrates the transition between spring and summer. Oldcastle holds the largest Beltane festival in Sunderland every year and many people travel across the country to attend it, whether they're followers of the Old Ways or not. The festival this year will be especially large as even more sightseers arrive to see the ongoing construction of the new Warden grounds and try to learn more about the strange gossip surrounding the events of the equinox's masquerade ball.

Come celebrate Beltane!

There will be various events for deer and accessories throughout the week. Although there will be no meta participation rewards, you're welcome and encouraged to start threads with your characters participating in the May Day festivities!

A welcome respite from the undercurrents of fear and restlessness, the maypole is an age-old ritual that never fails to delight both participants and onlookers.

This non-growing group of maypole dancer Guardians will be sold via speed flaffle (thirty minutes to enter) on Friday, May 3rd, at 10:00 PM CST.

The festivities continue well past nightfall, when celebratory bonfires are lit. Dances whirl in their flickering lights and stories are swapped, the details growing more exaggerated as the night wanes and the wine flows.

Each year a girl is selected to lead the festivities for Beltane and decked out in ribbons and flowers. Riding at the head of the parades this year, a second May Queen has been selected from the ranks of the Guardians.

The May Queen will be sold via auction.

Spring and summer are the seasons of fertility, and Beltane is its especial holiday. Although the spiritual connections that create new totems are not quite subject to the same natural laws, what better way to celebrate the theme of birth and new growth than with breeding slots?

Chrystali, Amorpheous, and Phoenix will each be taking one breeding slot, that may be either CC or randomly-rolled, depending on their preferences. You can post your pairings in this thread. These breedings will not be subject to additional totems for Awakened Guardians or RP--they will be two-deer each.

It's not just the ladies--and some dandy gentlemen--who are accessorizing for the occasion. Flowers and ribbons are to be found for all the most dapper Guardians.

We will be giving away a number of edits for pre-existing Guardians via random in-thread games. Keep your eyes peeled for fun and unannounced chances to win flowers, a bow, or even a May Day headdress!
