Other could be seen perched on the arm of a couch by the window, Twingle - the idle thought who had latched itself to him, yapping excitedly on the ground. The clever nightmare had devised a game for his newest little friend: "teleport the plushie".
The christmas plushie crackled loudly on the otherside of the room when it appeared. The idle thought's large ears easily picked up the sound and he skittered crazily in the toy's direction. Ephemere chuckled quietly from behind the pages of another book: Bioarcana - judging by the flowery scroll work, it must have been a spell book of some sort. Certainly not the normal material the dream took in. He turned the page. Don't get him too excited Other, you'll wear the poor thing out. Wear....out? How. wear? As usual, the nightmare's voice and speech were slow and distorted, almost frightening. Ephemere, who had raised him however, took no notice. It's an expression. Another page is turned, and there is a long pause before he continues. It means, to tire. You'll make Twingle get very tired. Then he could very well get sick you know. And now the old dream was casting Other a reproachful glare over the brim of his book. You understand now? A pale ripple of light shimmered down the nightmare's eel smooth hide. It had pictured Twingle being sick. Now he was worried. Under.Stand. he repeated solemnly before swooping down to his pet who had by now located the plushie and was happily chewing on one of it's ears. Rest. Other commanded it. Twingle of course, not understanding, would have ignored it, but the nightmare began to allow his own aura to seep in to the air. It made the little creature lose interest in it's play, and then, miraculously, even in being awake. It yawned, blinked, and then spawled out beside the toy, quickly falling asleep. Ephemere thought Other's masterful controll of his powers was a touch disturbing, but decided not to comment on it. Mercer meanwhile was with Arezou, who was seeing to the planting of new trees in the forest outside the dream mansion. The mutant dream had it's warm tail coiled loosely around the elfling's shoulder while enjoying the shade of her paper hat. The two would probably spend the whole day out there, Arezou was tireless when it came to horticulture. |
