*snickers* Yeah, I do find trying to work on some thigns easier with an underlying shading existing - ex: animal prints. @_@;

Yes, shading by hand ALWAYS manages to go horribly wrong.

Actually, I do well with it, but when you start incoling layers and layers or blends of colors... it's harder. Especially when you need to blend specific shades. I've learned it looks infinitely better sometimes to use a white base.

Lots and lots and LOTS of doing so. I've gotten better over time. @_@ *forced self to learn shading and understand it well enough* Not perfect, but I can generally figure what I need.

*has been doing digitial coloring for years now* Since about 01 - since 03 I've been a lot mroe consistent, esp. since last year here on Gaia. blaugh

But sometimes I'm either lazy/tired or in a hurry so I re-use thigns slightly. *bad abuser of layers* Mostly since I'm always doing blends/patterns.

o_o I wouldn't have nearly as much fun inventing new looks otherwise. Some colors just don't blend with certain layer modes though. gonk crying

xd I have my first real coloring piece in Photoshop. I quickly learned there were better ways to shade/highlight. o.o

I taught myself how to color in Photoshop. I abuse layers constantly. I only figured out shading layers last month. >.> My dream PSDs are totally funky because I had no idea how to make lineart templates when I made them.

Dreams will never have shading templates, because if I shade by hand I can do all sorts of nifty effects. Sentinels, on the other hand, need a much more set type of shape.
