Centuries ago, the Deos`kynd [Dae-os-kinnt; derived from Latin and German; "Children of the Gods"], a race of canine creatures, lived together in harmony, a large part of their population in the Lands of Achaia [Uh-kaa-ya].
They were very spiritual creatures, serving their those who they felt a close connection to, their gods, also known as their ancestors.
Those were also the ones that had discovered the natural gold mines hidden deep in the mountains, in the heart of Achaia. From that day on, the oldest wisest of the Deos`kynd were blessing and handling the gold for all others of their species. They used it on special occasions, for rituals and trading.
It continued like that with each new generation, until one day the peace was interrupted by the Noctae, as they called them later, because those creatures preferably attacked at night. They had heard of the gold treasure in Achaia`s mountains and longed to possess it. The war between the Noctae that tried to reach the mine, and the Deos`kynd, defending it with all their might, lasted for what seemed to be ages.
But eventually the dust and noise faded away, leaving many that were hurt or dead. Once the enemy had been defeated, some of the remaining Deos`kynd felt the need to make someone responsible for their loss, even if it were those of their own kind. Some said they should have just let the enemy get the gold and retreat into other regions, some said any life would be worth sacrificing for the matter of saving the ancestors` treasure.
The fear of the Deos`kynd that were left, the rage and the despair all added up to the fight that took place between the four largest families, finally making them part and withdraw into different regions of the Lands of Achaia, which were now almost deserted by the horrors of war...
One of the families managed to get to the treasure first. Blocking out any entrance to the mines, they wouldn`t let any others near, because they didn`t trust them anymore and saw themselves as the new keepers of the gold (now the Ygnon).
One of the families withdrew into the forests and valleys (now the Erden), another one to the south-western coast of Achaia (now the Aquyn).
One family even chose to move into one of the coldest regions in the north of the Lands (now the Aeron).

Now, years later, the families in the different regions have grown larger, forming new species even. Even though still being related, they individually adapted to their surroundings and specific climate.
The elders, naturally the heads of the clans (loosely connected or not), still remember those times when the Deos`kynd had existed as one big population in Achaia.
Sometimes they`re telling stories about the old times to the younger generations, who are interested in their roots and have a hard time understanding why the families had split up in the first place.
Will the conflict last forever, deepen, or will the newer generations be able to try and close the gap, despite the warnings of their clan leaders?

Q. Why can my Deos only breed twice?
A. Because it's not a baby machine! gonk

Q. Can my Deos breed with one of a different species?
A. Not unless you've put the RP into it to qualify for an RP breeding slot.

Q. Can my Deos have a gay breeding?
A. Again, not unless you've put the RP into it to qualify for an RP breeding slot.

Q. Can my Hasret breed with a non-Hasret?
A. Yes, a Hasret may breed with any species.

Q. Can my Hasret change shape like, whenever I want it to?
A. No. A Hasret may take only 3 forms in it's lifetime, and then only via RP.

Q. Can I breed two that I own?
A. No.

Q. Can I breed siblings/blood relations?
A. eek No. Just... no.

Q. Can I sell my Deos if I don't want it anymore?
A. No. You may give it away, but no selling a Deos that has had an owner.

Q. May I auction my egg from a breeding?
A. Yes, but only one per breeding may be auctioned, and with an auction cap of 200k, with 30% of the profit returning to the store.
In addition, the store must be the one to run the auction.

The Erden: (singular/plural: Erden; [Air-den])
(German for "from earth, made of earth" wink

Appearance: Coyote-like build, short and thick fur to keep them resistant to rather rough weather. They appear mainly in dark, natural colors (brownish/redish, black, grey...), even though there are said to be a few rare lighter colored ones. The Erden`s paws are too large for a canine, they are perfect for traveling though. It`s not unusual for an Erden clan to completely move from one territory to another, sometimes even several times a year.
Location: They live mostly in the valleys between the mountains in the middle/east of Achaia and near/sometimes in forests.
Social contacts: Erden live in clans that consist of at least 3 families or 6 individuals. They are very sociable and are rarely found alone.
Tribal markings: Markings on all legs covering the paws, a triangle-shaped marking on their skull; eyes and maw down to the underbelly are also marked.
Accessoires: Two feathers attached to their upper neck fur and a few tied to the tail; two leather beads hanging from the fur behind each ear.

Additional information: Erden are of a rather tough nature. Enemies (like other smaller or slightly bigger animals) do appear quite frequently in their regions of forests and fields. They group up to defend themselves and can emitt a frightening growl when needed, or even use their claws. The Erden youngsters get taught how to hunt and survive in the early years, some even get left alone for a while by their clan to live and gather experiences on their own (sometimes all alone, sometimes with other youngsters, it`s a ritual).


The Aeron sad singular/plural: Aeron; [Aye-ron])
(Name derived from Latin)

Appearance: Long, white or light colored fur; thick long fur to protect them from the cold climate of the regions they live in; short snout and ears (for the same reason), small paws.
Location: Northern Achaia, with snow-capped mountains and a rough climate. They live near small tree groups or snow drifts that shelter them from the snow storms in general.
Social contacts: Probably being the most sociable species of all, the Aeron are bound to live in clans; the more the better. Wandering off alone for a rather long time into the "white desert", as they call it, would result in the Aeron`s death (even though they adapted quite well to their surroundings). They need each other for gathering food and sharing body warmth by cuddling up to each other at night, when the temperature falls to an even lower level.
Tribal markings: Eyes and underbelly are marked, as well as the tip of their fluffy tail.
Accessoires: Two chains leading over their neck and connecting their ears, small, pointy feathers attached to them.

Additional information: The Aeron are of a very kind nature in general, even though they`re just as stubborn as the other species in their parting a long time ago. They despise especially the Ygnon, that now keep the gold. The Aeron youngsters stay with their parents for a long time, many of them for all of their life. Even if they leave with another clan for a while, they still stay in close contact with their family.


The Ygnon sad singular/plural: Ygnon; [Ig-non])
(Name derived from Latin)

Appearance: Rather tall and slender wolf-like creatures with a long tail (with only the tip of it furry). Their paws are covered with fur to make it easier for them to climb to their rocky caves and not harm themselves in the progress. They come in all colors, even though red/orange-ish shades are the most common.
Location: The mountains in the middle/east of Achaia, especially around the mines. Ygnon seem to know all the hidden paths and caves,they have learned to hide if needed quite well.
Social contacts: Occupying a large mountain region, there are many small groups consisting of about 4-8 Ygnon (mostly family members or friends) living in a cave/hideout. Of course, they are all led by their elders, who live in the mines, proctecting them.
Tribal markings: There are markings on their face, as well on their shoulders and hips, symbolizing flames. Sometimes they also dye streaks or parts of their fur red with the help of earth with a high iron percentage.
Accessoires: metal clips in their neck fur and around the tail (Living among the mines, the Ygnon have great metal ressources of all kinds), with 2 long, thin feathers attached to each.

Additional information: The Ygnon have strict rules (mainly to make sure that the ancestors` gold is safe), also when it comes to raising their children. Of course they love them, but they never fail to remind the youngsters of the seriousness of life and the duties they have to fulfill to please the ancestors. The Ygnon youngsters get told the rules and tales of the ancestors at a young age and have to mesmerize them word by word.


The Aquyn sad singular/plural: Aquyn; [Uh-quinn])
(Name derived from Latin)

Appearance: Build similar to the Ygnon`s, but with pointy ears and longer neck- and tail fur. They appear in all kinds of colors, especially different shades of blue.
Location: The coast in the south/west of Achaia, sometimes they also can be found at lakes.
Social contacts: Aquyn live in clans of about 20 individuals along the coast, they help each other gathering food (fishing; they can dive, even if only for a short time) and raising the youngsters.
Tribal markings: Aquyn are the only species of the former Deos`kynd that sport no tribal markings (seeing as it wouldn`t stay long anyway because of their diving XD)
Accessoires: Aquyn try to tame their long neck fur (almost mane you could call it) and tail with seaweed tied around it. They also sometimes wear chains made of shells.

Additonal information: If you could ever describe a species as "dreamy", it would be the Aquyn. Sometimes you see them just sitting on a cliff or on the shore looking out at the sea with a blank expression on their face. They teach their youngsters very gently, showing them how to hold your breath for diving and fish, which is a hard task for them to learn. When the weather gets rough at the coast, the clans draw back a bit in order to avoid the wind. Maybe it`s the lure of the sea; Aquyn tend to be depressed or rather moody more than the other species.

The Hasret: (singular/plural: Hasret; [Huss-rett])
(derived from Turkish; yearning)
When the ancestors couldn`t bear it any longer to see the Deos`kynd split up like that, they chose a few from their middle to descend back to Achaia, trying to fix things up. The Hasret, as they call themselves in disguise, are using their ability to shapeshift to interact with the different species.
The Hasret aren`t numerous, it`s just the vague attempt of the ancestors to try and help ease the situation. They and the younger generations are the hope to calm the brewing conflicts. Or maybe at least help to create some kind of connection between the now different species again.

There is also an old rumor about members of the different families/species meeting secretly or even bonding, but the elders warn younger ones that those who even try shall forever be banned from the community.
It`s a long way to go...

The Ancestors?

Who are those Ancestors? Well, the Deos`kynd, of course. The grand grand grand (...) parents of all the species in Achaia, so to say. But what were they like? What do the Erden, Aeron, Ygnon and Aquyn know about them now, after centuries?
A lot of tales about heroic deeds are told among all of the species about their ancestors, naturally they all glorify and praise them. They were the ones that gathered the gold and kept all members of the families together. It seems that their image isn`t as realistic anymore though, those times are long gone. Most members of the species even forgot the reason for the big fight, only some of the oldest know.
One phrase, written in verses in an n d language, was found by the Ygnon in the mountains of Achaia:

"Euch ist in alten maeren / wunders vil geseit
von helden lobebaeren / von grozer arebeit,
von froeuden, hochgeziten, / von weinen und von klagen,
von kuener recken striten / muget ir nu wunder hoeren sagen."

(Translation: "In old tales / you have been told
of heroes` deeds / of grand works,
of joy, of festivities/ of crying and wailing,
of brave warriors fighting/ may you now hear of those wonders." ***)

Is this a sign of the Ancestors` return? What will the Ygnon do?


(***Old German; the first verse of the German saga "Das Nibelungenlied", slightly changed. There are actually a few accents and special signs missing, Gaia doesn`t accept those. DDD; But I can write it down on paper for you. =))

Well, read on!

Flatsales: - none-

A flatsale is basically a sale with a set price of 2000g for each Deos egg.
Egg previews and a time will be posted up to a week beforehand, and when I post 'GO' in big red letters the flatsale starts.
You must specify which egg you want (ie, egg #1) in order to actually win, no just going "I want an egg!"
No claiming an egg if you cannot pay.
You can only get one egg per sale, be it for yourself or another.

Auctions:
Deos'kynd auctions begin with a starting bid of 5k, and the times vary.
All non-rare auctions have an auction cap of 500k.
Rare auctions have no autobuy.
Auctions will generally be announced, with a preview, up to a week beforehand, and will take place on a seperate thread.
Basic auction rules:
- No harrassing other bidders!
- No sniping - you MUST post interest before the last hour of the auction. If anyone bids in the last ten minutes, the auction will go on for another five minutes, and if anyone bids in those five minute the auction will be extended another five minutes, and so on. This is to prevent people from sniping in the last minutes of the auction.
- No editing your bids.

Breeding Rules:
[x] Your Deos may only breed twice in it's lifetime, they can't pop them out like machines, y'know!
[x] You may get between 2-5 eggs with each breeding.
[x] The first breeding of a couple is more likely to get 2-3, whilst a second between a couple may get the higher numbers.
[x] In some very, very rare cases, a couple who have shown great dedication in RP may be able to have 6 eggs, but this is thus far unheard of.
[x] You may only auction one egg from your breeding, with a cap of 200k, and 30% of profit returning to the shop.
[x] You may not run a breeding egg auction, it must be run by the shop mule.
[x] You may not use a breeding egg for a pet trade.
[x] Couples formed without roleplay may not breed across species unless one is a Hasret.
[x] Non-RP breedings will not have rare colourings randomly occur.

To breed two different species, a couple HAS to be formed via RP.

Breeding your Deos'kynd can differ, depending on whether you RP it or not.

While RPing is not necessary to breed it in certain cases, it is far more rare to get a non-RP breeding spot.
See, two spots are open at most times to couples formed via roleplay, whilst a slot opens now and then to couples not formed via roleplay.

RP slots:

So, how much RP is necessary? Well, enough to make it onto our couples list.
To qualify for this, you need to post an application in the thread, as such:

Regarding Hasret breedings:
A Hasret may breed with any species, and have random species occur in their litter.
A child of a Hasret has a 20% chance of being born a Hasret itself.
So Hasret children will be very rare.

Roleplaying is not required to keep your Deos, but certain perks (more common breedings, etc) are opened via roleplay.

Roleplay rules:

[x] Keep the terrain of your species in mind. ie, unless you are seeking out interaction with another species, don't RP your Aquyn in a typically Erden area.
[x] Try not to excluse others.
[x] Keep swearing to a minimum.
[x] Keep ooc interaction polite.
[x] Eggs cannot speak or communicate.
[x] Those with Hasret- remember, 3 changes in a lifetime, your Hasret will not be shapeshifting at will.

Customs here are done on a slot basis, with two slots per colourist.

Custom/bribe prices change, depending on what that colourist is currently after.

So if you're after a custom, check which colourist has slots open, (we open two slots per month, per colourist) and what it is they're after.
One colourist's bribe may be cheaper than anothers, this cannot be helped.

With customs, you CANNOT get lineart edits/custom items. Just the colours.
