06 * Do not hassle the staff or artists about growths for the pets or breeding slots.

Tapirus tapirs live in a remote region of a rainforest, completely cut off from humans and most other animals. There are only a few other creatures living in the region, most of which are insects, spiders, small birds and reptiles, and a few other mammals. Within this utopia-like setting, the Tapirus tapirs have been able to flourish in a variety of colors and achieve a sentient intelligence. Some have even developed mutant traits.

►Baskets This is generally how tapirs start out. Their infants are small and weak so they must rest in baskets until they get stronger. This stage usually lasts about a week.

►Baby The tapir has come out and you can finally see its colors and markings. Owners may start roleplaying their tapir at this stage. This stage usually lasts about two weeks.

►Calf The tapir has become an adolescent. They are able to explore more of their surroundings and may even leave the safety of the candle. This stage usually lasts about three to four weeks.

►Adult Congratulations! Your tapir is now fully grown and can begin looking for a mate or strike out and start a candle of its own. This stage usually lasts forever.

►Natural These tapirs are colored like animals found in nature: mammals, avians, reptiles, and fish. Some might be colored like plants as well.

►Prismatic These tapirs can be any color or pattern and often come in very bright eye-catching hues. They can be solid colored or have a variety of markings.

►Spooky Usually seen only around Halloween, these tapirs have coloring and markings reminiscent of ghosts and skeletons and other things that go bump in the night.

►Mutant While these tapirs can be colored like any of the above breeds, what really sets them apart is the mutations such as horns or scales.

Tapirus tapirs live in a small region of rainforest that has been completely isolated from humans and most other creatures. They have been able to thrive here peacefully, living in herds called candles. (This is the correct term. Goggle it.) Candles are led by an alpha bull or cow with a small hierarchy of mate, children, adviser, guard(s), healer, entertainer, gatherer(s), and subjects. All tapirs are herbivores, their diet consisting of fruit, berries, and leaves, though some mutants are capable of consuming meat.


Roleplay Rules
01 * Observe Gaia's TOS and behave appropriately!
02 * Do not god-mode at all. Your character is not omnipotent.
03 * No inappropriate storylines. This includes rape, incest, and roleplaying anything that is not PG-13.
04 * Staff members reserve the right to not only lock inappropriate roleplay threads, but delete them.
05 * You may not kill another person's character. You may not injure them without permission.
06 * Use whatever tense the creator of the RP went with (present or past)
07 * Roleplay is not required.
08 * All candles must be approved by staff.

Breedings cost 6k and will be rolled from breeding raffles in the guild.

Tapirus tapirs may breed once they have been an adult for at least a month. Only malexfemale pairs may produce offspring. Generally tapirs will have two babies, though sometimes three is possible. A tapir may mate again two months after their last breeding's baskets have been dropped off. They may have casual flings or mate for life. If a lifemate agreement is broken, the tapir must wait 3 months before being able to find another mate. Owners may not sell their offspring, but can give them away freely or in contests. Owners may only have one offspring from each breeding. Tapirs will only be able to breed up to 5 times.
