[Spirit Guardians]

The story started at the beginning of time, in an empty world where there was nothing. Upon discovering this world, the one that would later be known as ‘The Creator’ to his worshippers brought the earth, water and air into being. He spent much time and sweat molding his creations from these three basic elements, perfecting them and giving all of them a name. After having perfected the world, The Creator brought heaven and hell into existence, connecting the two new dimensions to the world through portals scattered throughout the world. When everything was completed, he created 5 different creatures, one of each gender, to look after his creations. Gifting them the title of “Soul Guardians”, he assigned each pair of creature to look after the souls that existed in one of five different domains – Earth, Air, Water, Heaven and Hell.

“Go forth and protect the souls of every one of my creations, but as they age and eventually die, gather and lead these souls to hell where they will be judged by the Guardians residing there… Those who had led worthy lives will be sent to heaven.” He instructed, and retreated back to his own dimension, leaving the world in their care.

The Soul Guardians worked faithfully, looking after the domain they were assigned to diligently. The Land Guardians looked after those that reside on land, the Sky Guardians looked after those who spent their time in the air and the Water guardians guarded those living in the water. Gathering the souls of the departed, they would pass through the portal to hell, where the Hell Guardians would judge the souls. Those unworthy would be destroyed, the soul fragments passed to the many Soul Guardians to create new life in the world. Those worthy, on the other hand, would be escorted through a portal leading to heaven, where the Heaven Guardians look after those worthy enough to reside in paradise.

As decades became millenniums, just as the world itself expanded, the Soul Guardians too, reproduced. Breeding amongst their own kind or with those of other domains, they brought forth more Soul Guardians to carry on their duty… Their legacy.

The Golden Rules

1. No profanity, fighting or drama! Be respectful to everyone at all times.
2. Only send PMs to Spirit Guardians, the shop mule.
3. Keep in mind that the shopkeepers have IRL lives; also, respect them and their decisions.
4. Art theft is NOT allowed. This includes non-staff taking the Guardian art and coloring it.
5. No advertising! Keep it in your sig.
6. Payment for all guardians is due within 24 hours. If they aren't paid for, they will be re-sold.
7. Do not ask for a job or to guest color. We will seek YOU out if we want you to guest color.
8. Up to 2 people can co-own flatsale and raffle guardians; up to 3 people can co-own auction guardians.
9. Selling Guardian's by yourself is against the rules. If you choose to sell a Soul Chamber, it must be done through the shop, via raffle.
10. Bribing owners for their Guardian is NOT allowed. If anyone tries it, both parties will be subject to consequences!
11. No claiming or putting 'dibs' on copyrighted characters such as those from movies, books, etc. That doesn't mean you can't quest for them, just that you can't prevent others from questing for the same character. It just isn't fair! A cosplay pet isn't yours 100% until it's tagged with your name on it.
12. Do not ask someone if you can co-own their pet. The only person who can ask for co-ownership is the owner.


Golden RP Rules

1. Use whatever tense the creator of the RP went with (present or past)
2. Try to not to leave anyone out. Give people a chance to join in.
3. No god-moding. Not even if you're a god.
4. Try to use (( and )) for OOC talk....it's required only when people are RPing in the thread. How you handle it in private threads is up to you.
5. When RPing your Guardian, it is recommended that you use a text color.
6. Dream Guardian's don't exist yet in this world, and so are not allowed to be RPed in the guild or thread.
7. Non-cosplays cannot take the name of a cosplay character and they cannot take that cosplay's personality either.
8. Accents other than an "American accent" are allowed if the Guardian has a backstory about why they speak that way. RP is usually conducted in a standard American accent since 95% of owners come from America. You can also RP in another language if the person you are RPing with is fluent too. If you are from another country yourself and don't know what an American accent is, then just RP how you normally do.

Stage 1: Soul Chamber [Growth time to Youth 1-2 weeks]
Young Soul Guardians are kept within soul chambers until the creator is able to decide upon their domain. Once a domain is assigned the young Soul Guardian, may emerge from within their chamber.

Stage 2: Young [Growth time to Adult 2-3 weeks]
Young Soul Guardians are also called cubs, and are very dependent on adults - this can be a parent, another family member, a nanny or even a total stranger. Although they are born with powers depending on their domain, they have no knowledge on how to use these powers to carry out their duty. By observing and imitating how adults find and gather souls, they gradually learn how to operate their inborn powers. Thus, young Soul Guardians who grow up without a "role model" often miss out on the chance to discover and unleash their full potential.

Stage 3: Adult
Adult Soul Guardians are mostly apt at performing their duty, gathering souls and caring for their domain using their powers becoming second nature to many. However, they are also now old enough to reproduce and maybe start their own family. Some might even be waiting for the ball held once every 300 years by The Creator, hoping for the honor to become an Elder and become the next leader of their kind.

Earth Guardians
These Guardians feel most at home surrounded by nature, although different individuals prefer different surroundings; some prefer the forest, while others prefer the desert or the mountains. Despite their fluffy appearance, they possess skin as tough as diamond and a heavy body. However, they are relatively fast and agile for their weight and build.
Also worshiped as: Guardians of Harvest
Inborn abilities: Super strength, an inbuilt "compass" like homing pigeons and heat sensors like a snake.
Powers: Connected to the earth - They are able to heal diminishing forests, albeit slowly, help plants grow, fertilize the soil, form mountains, cause Earthquakes, etc.
Sacred offering: Dragon fruit
Preferred offerings: Vegetation that exists on land, fruits, fungi and chicken.

Air Guardians
They are the only Guardians in the common domains with the gift of flight. In fact, they prefer to live high up in the clouds, feeling comfortable in the sky due to their domain. They set foot on land for only three reasons - to feed, hear the prayer of the people and breed. Their bodies are light as air itself, and they are capable of using graceful acrobatics in the sky.
Also worshiped as: Guardians of Love
Inborn abilities: Flight and the ability to turn into a Mist-like form and pass through objects for a short period of time.
Powers: Connected to the sky and air - cleaning up air, forming clouds and thus rain/snow/hail, causing lightning, causing winds including hurricanes and tornadoes, etc.
Sacred offering: Dove
Preferred offerings: Most birds, excluding flightless birds.

Water Guardians
Born on land but raised and nurtured underwater, these Guardians never leave the water unless to breed, as their temples are built halfway into bodies of water. They are graceful and powerful swimmers, but struggle with moving on land, appearing clumsy compared to the rest of the Soul Guardians.
Also worshiped as: Guardians of Wisdom
Inborn abilities: Able to breathe on land and in water and ability to turn into liquid for a short period of time.
Powers: Connected to water - control of the tide, salinity of the water, forming currents, creating whirlpools and tsunamis, etc.
Sacred offering: Salmon
Preferred offerings: Seaweed, conch shells and most fishes.

Light Guardians
A newly discovered guardian species, not too much is known about them. It is said they remained hidden from their fellow guardians to avoid conflict and strife.
Also worshiped as: Guardians of Healing
Inborn abilities: Flight, healing wounds and creating happiness in the very air
Powers: None
Sacred offering: Wool from a lamb
Preferred offerings: dew drops and bright flowers.

Heaven Guardians
Never leaving their domain unless required of them, they take care of the souls who had been worthy enough to be in paradise. They also serve to eliminate any unworthy souls who had smuggled themselves in. Although mostly benevolent, there are also those who had tire of their duty among the peace and good, choosing to serve in hell instead...

Inborn abilities: Flight, healing wounds and destroying souls.
Powers: None
Sacred offering: Peacock tail feathers
Preferred offerings: Metals, especially in their rawest form.

Hell Guardians
Like their cousins in heaven, these Guardians never leave their domain unless required of them. They act as judges, reviewing the life of each soul before passing judgement. They have an inability to lie, and despite their appearance and domain, many are benevolent creatures with a hot temper.
Also worshiped as: Guardians of Truth
Inborn abilities: Flight, distinguishing truth from lies at a glance and destroying souls.
Powers: None
Sacred offering: Bulls
Preferred offerings: Precious stones and minerals.

Creation Guardians
The right and left hands of The Creator himself, these Guardians are rarely seen except when acting as The Creator's messengers. They also occasionally appear to review the different domains, making sure that everything is going smoothly before reporting back to The Creator. They also have the authority to punish any Guardians as they see fit. It is impossible for them to entertain dark thoughts, and would die shortly after if they did.
Also worshiped as: Guardians of Marriage
Inborn abilities: Combination of abilities from Guardians of other domains.
Powers: Mixture of abilities from Guardians of other domains.
Sacred offering: Water from the sacred well in The Creator's main temple
Preferred offerings: None

In layman's terms these are the equivalent to god's and goddess's

Giant Hedgehog Companion
The Giant Hedgehog companion is well adapted for those Guardian's who keep their feet firmly planted on land. Able to withstand the harsh temperature changes of the Realm, the hedgehog makes a great companion even in the Lava Fields.

Avian Companion
The Bird companion is adapted for those Guardians who soar above the land. Equally at home on the ground, however makes this companion able to adapt well.

Lizard Companion
The Lizard companion is suited for the Guardians who dwell on land or in the water. Able to hold it's breath for up to 40 minutes at a time, the lizard is best suited to keep up with the Water Guardians.

Breeding Cost: 25k

When a Guardian adult has aged 2 weeks as an adult either by a growing or in their owner's care they can find a mate. The couple can decide if they want children or not. Guardians can decide if they want to life mate or a casual mate if they want kids but not a committed relationship with another Guardian.

They will be given Soul Chambers colored like their babies by The Creator. After 3 days-1 week if the couple has proved themselves worthy of being parents by RPing or their owners chat in the thread/guild the Cubs will emerge from their Soul Chambers. The cubs will still emerge from their chambers even if the couple and owners drop off the face of the earth to never be seen again but it will take much longer (more than a week).

Adults must wait until their current eggs are fully grown before breeding again.
