06.23.08 Buffy's Customs Open! For those who are waiting on Rabid for pet trades/customs/etc, she won't be back until...? (The end of July?). You have no reason to have waited so long for them, if you're feeling upset about it please PM Jiraiyah and she'll see what she can do.

In order for every shop to go smoothly, there need to be rules. Failure to follow these will result in blacklisting/greylisting/flogging with a wet ramen noodle.


The Golden Rules

1. No profanity, fighting or drama! Be respectful to everyone at all times.
2. Only send PMs to Sands of Ra, the shop mule.
3. Keep in mind that the shopkeepers have IRL lives that can become hectic; also, respect them and their decisions. (Note that in Tara's or Rabid's absence, PM the shop mule your problems and they will be dealt with upon our return.)
4. Art theft is NOT allowed and will be dealt with harshly.
5. No advertising! Keep it in your sig.
6. Payment for all Khensu is due within 24 hours. If they aren't paid for, they will be re-sold.
7. Do not ask for a job or to guest color. We will seek YOU out if we want you to guest color. wink
8. Up to 2 people can co-own flatsale and raffle Khensu; up to 3 people can co-own auction Khensu.
9. You may own as many Khensu as you can afford to take care of.
10. Selling Khensu fledglings by yourself is against the rules. If you choose to sell a fledgling, it must be done through the shop, via raffle.
11. Bribing owners for their Khensu is NOT allowed. If anyone tries it, both parties will be subject to consequences!
12. No claiming or putting 'dibs' on copyrighted characters such as those from movies, books, etc. That doesn't mean you can't quest for them, just that you can't prevent others from questing for the same character. It just isn't fair! A cosplay pet isn't yours 100% until it's tagged with your name on it.
13. Do not ask someone if you can co-own their pet. The only person who can ask for co-ownership is the owner.



Golden RP Rules

1. Use whatever tense the creator of the RP went with (present or past)
2. If RPing with your avatar, create an Egyptian persona for him/her. In the world of the Khensu every human is an Egyptian. More about this in the guild.
3. Humans can understand what a Khensu is saying and vice versa.
4. Try to not to leave anyone out. Give people a chance to join in.
5. No god-moding. Not even if you're a god. wink
6. Try to use (( and )) for OOC talk....it's required only when people are RPing in the thread. How you handle it in private threads is up to you.
7. When RPing your Khensu, it is recommended that you use a text color.
8. You must wait 3 weeks before picking a breeding mate for a new Khensu adult.
9. If your Khensu already has a breeding mate and they still want to flirt romantically with another, you should make an (( OOC )) post stating that to the other person.
13. It is preferred that your Khensu has an Ancient Egyptian name, but it is not strictly enforced.
14. Cosplay Khensu may have the personality of the character they are based on, and in some cases, they may retain some canon abilities. However, this is a case-by-case basis to be cleared with the RP manager. Cosplay Khensu do not, however, have a canon past or memories, unless you can fit it to the shop setting. For example, a Barbossa Khensu can be a pirate of sorts. He might even be cursed. He would not, however, seek out Aztec gold, because this would not be possible for the shop timeframe. He could seek out cursed Pharoah's treasures, though! whee

Stages
1) Egg: You are given a odd looking nest with an egg nestled inside that you must keep with you at all times to attract the blessing of Ra. If you are in the thread a lot then this increases the chances that the fledgling will arrive faster.

2) Fledgling: Now that the cute and cuddly Khensu fledgling has become your friend then it's time to teach them all that you know. Please be friendly to the fledgling by playing with them often. If you ignore your fledgling then the Khensu will grow up to be a neglected adult that doesn't like humans!

3) Young Adult: Khensu young adults are wise to the world around them if they were properly cared for. They are now beginning to understand the natural order of life.

4) Adult: Khensu adults are fierce as well as loving. They will protect their human from all the dangers of the surrounding desert. Khensu adults are at the top of the food chain in the entire area!

Flatsales

There are many ways we conduct flatsales at this shop including....
1 The RP Way- This is usually done for rare colored Khensu. A prompt will be under the Khensu. You have 20 minutes to write out at least a paragraph in response. Whoever answered the prompt the best will get the pet. A flatsale price of 6k applies.
2. The Speed Way- as the name implies, we post 'go' and you dash to claim your pet. Speed sales may or may not have additional specific instructions, so pay attention!
3. The Trivia Way- Again, pretty self-explanitory.
4. The Hieroglyph Scavenger Hunt Way- I use the mule and my own account to post glyphs throughout the shop that have numbers. You have to find the glyphs and then post them in the thread and post the page number they were found on. The order of the people who post determine who gets first pick, second pick, etc.


Flatsale Rules
1. Do not whine if you don't win..just try again next time.
2. Be kind to others and do not guilt trip anyone out of trying
3. Only one per person, per post.
4. You can get one for someone else, but make sure to let us know beforehand.
5. Payment is due ASAP after the sale. If in 24 hours the trade isn't confirmed the pet goes up for sale again.
5. These are not RP required.
6. Only 2 people may co-own flatsale pets

Auctions
Auctions start at 5k for regular Khensu and 10k for rarer Khensu. They usually last a week, although some could last longer. The minimum increasement is 1k and the autobuy varies or is not set. Also, there is an anti snipe guard. Every bid made close to the ending time has a grace period of 30 minutes.

Auction Rules

1. Do not guilt trip anyone out of bidding!
2. Do not form massive cheerleading squads for an individual bidder. "good luck" shouts are welcome.
3. Up to 3 people may co-own.
4. These are not RP required.
5. No drama allowed in the thread.
6. Payment due ASAP after 24 hours, the pet goes back up for sale.
7. No anonymous bidding.
8. Items accepted at 10% under TekTek

Raffles
Raffles have an unlimited number of tickets and can last up to a week. The price per ticket is 100g. There is no ticket limit, but please do not gamble away your Gaian savings.

When a Khensu adult has aged 2 weeks as an adult either by a growing or in their owner's care they can find a mate. The couple can decide if they want children or not. Khensu can decide if they want to life mate or a casual mate if they want kids but not a committed relationship with another Khensu.

If so, they must pray to the sun god Ra to bless them with eggs and leave 12,000 gold pieces at the base of the great Sphinx (send a trade of 12k/6k per owner to Sands of Ra).

They will be given 2-4 eggs by Sands of Ra. After 3 days-1 week if the couple has proved themselves worthy of being parents by RPing or their owners chat in the thread/guild the great god Hathor will bless the eggs to hatch. The god Ra will still bless the eggs even if the couple and owners drop off the face of the earth to never be seen again but it will take much longer (more than a week).

The great god Ra: Ra was the almost universally-worshiped king of the gods and all-father of creation. A sun god, he was said to command the chariot that rode across the sky during the day. A king, he was the patron of the pharaoh. Ra is the most central god of the Egyptian pantheon.

Q: What are the Khensu?
A: The Khensu are a species of Egyptian dwelling birds of prey. These raptors are a mix of a hawk/eagle and falcon.

Q: How many eggs can my Khensu have?
A: Khensu can have 2-4 eggs at a time.

Q: How long will it take for me to attract the blessing of Hathor?
A: If you post in the shop or guild by role playing and/or chatting then your chances of the blessing arriving will be faster (3 days - 1 week). When this event occurs, your post that triggered the blessings arrival will be quoted and the fledgling's untagged image will appear. After you have named your fledgling (if you hadn't already named the egg) then it will be tagged in place of the egg. If you never come by the shop and disappear forever after obtaining an egg then your blessing will appear much later (1 week+)! sad

Q: When will my young adult grow to an adult?
A: If you role play and/or chat in the thread or guild then the young adult will grow to an adult faster (2 weeks-3 weeks) than if you fell off the ends of the earth never to be seen again (3 weeks+).
