Eats: Grasses, roots, tubers, squash, moss, roots, leaves, shoots, berries, blossoms. Also occasionally eats fish, shrimp, insects, shellfish, and other small easy to catch protien-filled things.
Size: Males read about 3.5-4.5 sticks (feet) at the shoulder. Females generaly reach 2.75-3.5 sticks.
Groups: Generally made up of family and friends, large groups are called a Troop. The young, on the cusp of adulthood, will generally leave this unit to explore the world on their own or with siblings for a time. At this point, they will find a mate within another group, or return to their own for good. Visits are common.
Mating: It is not uncommon for females and males to keep a 'contract' for a time. This is, in essence, and temporary marriage for all sake of a better example. This generally lasts for one clutch (until the young are nearing adulthood), though it is not unknown for a single pair to remain together always. Males often and are able to keep several females (and sometimes males) as well, having many contracts at once. Neither a truly bound pair nor a harem are considered taboo.
Youngling
This stage comprises the time between emergence from the pod to just before puberty. This is an inquisitive stage of life in which the youngster is into everything. Nothing seems forsaken when it comes to taste, smell, and touch. Everything demands exploring! Please keep an eye on them in this stage, because you never know what trouble they might get into!
