While Weyrlings do have permission to attend the Gather (unless R’soua has said otherwise to them), they can only do this provided their new partners don’t have too much separation anxiety. The baby dragons, darlings that most of them they are, cannot attend the big, raucous, party in the Hold that definitely has mixed at best feelings towards riders. Your human characters, yes, your baby dragons, no. Sorry, maybe some other Gather.

I made a brief reference to this in a post earlier in the day, but some of you might have missed it. If there's a reason your weyrling might have been barred from the gather (fighting? separation anxiety?) come talk to me <3
