Hello! Welcome to the world of Pokémon! My name is Alder. Sometimes people call me a Pokémon Professor.

This world is inhabited by creatures that we call Pokémon.

People and Pokémon live together by supporting each other. Some people play with Pokémon, some battle with them. But we don't know everything about Pokémon yet. There are still many mysteries to solve.

That's why I study Pokémon every day. Now, what did you say your name was? Never mind. We can get all of that sorted out later. Right now, your own very Pokémon story is about to unfold. You'll face fun times and tough challenges. A world of dreams and adventures with Pokémon awaits! Are you ready?

Let's go!

Goodness!

Pardon our dust during set up. This is going to look VERY bare for a while.. Like, oh my goodness bare, and then suddenly, like a butterfree evolving from a metapod, BAM. Everything will be brand new and sparkly.

Isn't evolution amazing?

But hey, while everything's still getting set up, it would be a great big help if you could spread the word about us! While we're getting ready for that big day when all the new trainers can get their first pokemon, every new person that you bring in will count for one point towards a custom first stage pokemon (legendaries excluded). Each person that's already stopped by will also be given one point for finding us early, and each newcomer will be given one point to start them off on their quest to become a great pokemon master! Or watcher! Or maybe even a pokemon breeder!

Just be sure to post Hey! I'm new! ______ brought me here! so we can make sure everyone gets their proper points.

Feel free to advertise however you'd like. Word of mouth, posting a little message in your signature, or even feel free to use our mini banner!

Each trainer class will have it's Pros and Cons, and may be changed from Novice Trainer
(all trainers start off as a novice trainer) after 2 gym badges have been won, and then after
every 2 gym badges thereafter. Once 8 badges have been won, a trainer may 'dual-class'
to be a Battle/Breeder, or possibly a Ranger/Watcher or some combination of two classes.
Choosing wisely in these classes can yeild great bonuses in battle and training.

Novice Trainer Class
+n/a, -n/a
All trainers with two badges or less will be default set as Novice Trainers. Novice Trainers get NO bonuses to Breeding, Training, Earnings, or Capturing new pokemon. They also have no negs on any of these.

Battle Trainer Class
+ Training, -Catching
Battle trainers pokemon will level a bit faster, gaining an extra third of experiance points for each battle/RP put towards training. Battle Class trainers may also put an extra +3 into the IV stats (distributed however they want) each time a pokemon levels. Battle trainers focus on making their pokemon as strong as they can be. However, they also look for stronger pokemon in the wild, and will have a harder time catching pokemon that are up to their standards. When a pokeball(or any ball) is used, there will be a 40% chance of the pokemon fleeing from battle if not caught. Stronger pokemon are harder to catch, after all.

Example:
A battle normally earning 30exp would earn 40exp. If a pokemon leveled in this battle, and their
stat boosts were +3(hp), +2(atk), +1(s.atk), +1(def), +2(s.def), +3(spd), they could bump it up to
+3(s.atk), +2(def) to make it a bit more rounded out.

Breeder Trainer Class

Ranger Trainer Class
+Catching, -Earnings

Watcher Trainer Class
+Earning, -Breeding

Well, that's a silly question to ask, isn't it? It's still part of the application, though. And you'll be needing your trainer card before you can begin your adventure! There's just a couple of things you'll need to fill out and you should be able to get your shiny new card in just a couple of days.

Please post completed applications over in the Trainer Applications Thread in the Guild!

Now for a quick look at how pokemon battles will actually be held!

They will be run on an A, B, Judge, B, A, Judge rotational system, each round containing just a bit of actual action while the judge takes both pokemons moves into consideration before posting up a final verdict on that particular Round of RP Battle.

A very quick example of this would be as follows:

Quote:

RED sends out squirtle to battle, the slower pokemon uses withdrawl, bracing for any attacks and watches it's opponent, aiming carefully and following up with bubble.

BLUE sends out bulbasaur, who charges in with a tackle, hoping to throw his opponent off balance and try to get the turtle on his back. He follows up by firing it's leech seed with a fierce growl..

JUDGE
Squirtle defends, but by just standing there, makes itself an easy target for the charging bulbasaur. It's sent tumbling backwards, and while the damage it took from tackle is halved by it's preparation, it's hard to get a clean shot on a moving target when your world is upside down. The echos of the bulbasaurs growl only make it's short harder, barely nicking it's mobile opponent, while the leech seeds take root and begin sapping it's health away.

The round ends with bulbasaur still at 100% health, and Squirtle down to 24/36 health.

The next round, BLUE/Bulbasaur would go first, and RED/Squirtle would have the follow up post, and the judge would post the combination of the two opponents moves there after until one player is out of usable pokemon for the match.

-----------Battle Limitations-----------

Changing Pokemon mid battle will take your entire turn, but how you RP your pokemons movements will tie in to how your opponents actions/attacks will effect your pokemon.

Trainers with up to 2 badges may only participate in MAXIMUM 3 v 3 battles (three pokemon on either side, be it a one on one, two on two, or three on three/rotational battle) meaning opponents may only use a maximum of three pokemon in the battle in total reguardless of battle style.

Trainers with up to 4 badges may use a maximum of 4 per battle, up to 6 badges may use a max of 5.

If you have 7 badges or more, you may use your entire party in battle.

-----------Battle Items-----------

You may bring ONE item PER pokemon into battle. In a 3 v 3 battle, you may bring 3 items (example, 2 super potions, 1 revive).

Held items DO NOT COUNT against the One-Per-Pokemon rule.

Using an item on your pokemon will take up your entire RP round(I.E. they cannot use any of their own moves), but how you RP your pokemons movements will tie in to how your opponents actions/attacks will effect your pokemon.

Held items will not take up your entire turn (example, eatting a sitrus berry mid round would still allow the pokemon to attack).

Using an item on a pokemon NOT IN BATTLE still counts for taking up the entire turn, since the trainer will be focused on healing the 'out of play' pokemon, the 'in play' pokemon will be on their own.

-----------After Battle-----------

Pokemon that have taken more than 25% damage to their health at the end of the battle cannot enter another battle in the same day (UNLESS IT IS A SPECIAL EVENT BATTLE, which will be noted at the beginning of the encounter) and should be taken to the pokemon center for medical attention. They will be ready to battle again at Midnight (roughly).

There will be one main Pokemon Center thread where you will need to post a link to the battle. which pokemon were used, and their final health at the end of the battle. A judge will sign off (strike through) your post to let you know the resident Nurse has taken care of your pokemon. If more than a day has passed without a judge signing off on your post, Chansey probably took care of them on their own, and should be ready for battle again.

-----------Winning a Battle-----------

Winning a battle will earn you prize money and experience.

Prize money will be decided on by the judge depending on what type of battle it was:
Trainer v Wild pokemon = 0 - 200
IF the pokemon is not captured.
Trainer v Trainer = 200 - 6,000
Trainer v Gym Trainer = 500 - 8,000
Trainer v Gym Leader = 3,000 - 10,000
Trainer v Elite Four = 10,000
Trainer v Champion = 20,000

All pokemon will need 100 exp per level in order to evolve.

A won battle can earn between 10 and 30 exp per pokemon as a base earning.

-----------Losing a Battle-----------

Lost battles win zero prize money, and 5 points to each participating pokemon.

Fainted pokemon must be taken to a pokemon center.
