If you have a problem, speak up, but don't constantly clamor for attention. We always love to hear your feedback, but repeating it too often can be very distressing.

Make sure to show up on time for flatsales and events you want to join in on, and turn in your Gold within a reasonable time. Nobody likes the uncertainty of waiting!

User Image - Blocked by "Display Image" Settings. Click to show. Read The Page - If you have a question, I'm sure it'll be answered on the first two pages. It's better to read all the material thoroughly, before you ask, isn't it?

We'd rather answer a question you can't find the answer to, or even just hear that you're now subscribed than be left in silence to wonder who's out there! The internet can be very lonely, even when you have a lot of people around. Let's all be friends together.

User Image - Blocked by "Display Image" Settings. Click to show. Don't Be Greedy - Please understand that if you just won a pokémon in a flatsale that you may not enter in the flatsale immediately after. You have to skip one, to give people a chance. If you have six or more pokémon, you need to stay out of flatsales altogether.

Keep Shop Requests In PMs To The Mule - It's not that we don't want to hear about your affiliate requests, trade offers or anything else in the thread — far from it! It's just that with all the bustle and conversation, we're afraid we might lose your official request. It's a lot easier to keep some information at hand via PMs.

User Image - Blocked by "Display Image" Settings. Click to show. Limitations are an important part of every shop. If you win a flatsale pokémon, you are not allowed to participate in the flatsale immediately after that one. You've got to skip one, to give everyone else a chance. If you manage to accrue six pokémon all together, you are no longer allowed to participate in flatsales and newbie events at all. If you still want more pokémon, you'll need to go through contests, raffles, auctions, customs, trading, and breeding.

User Image - Blocked by "Display Image" Settings. Click to show. Flatsales will occur at semi-regular intervals, as often as once a week during busy months, or when demand is especially high. Pokémon recently added to the shop pokédex will most usually be presented for the first time in flatsales, usually two at a time.

User Image - Blocked by "Display Image" Settings. Click to show.

Each Flatsale will feature at least two pokémon, but most will feature more. Sometimes these pokémon won't be visible— they'll be inside pokéballs or eggs and will represent a little mystery. Pokémon that are lower on the evolutionary scale, eggs, and especially rare pokémon will be priced higher, but in general all pokémon in a given flatsale will have the same price.

User Image - Blocked by "Display Image" Settings. Click to show. Pokéballs will also be sold during some flatsales. But....what's in them? In flatsales, pokéballs will usually contain only kinds of pokémon that were previously sold, so that gives you some idea of what's in them. Price is different, and it depends on what's inside, though in general a pokéball will be priced lower than the visible flatsale pokémon. Another indicator of the pokémon within is the kind of pokéball it is. Rare pokémon will probably be in higher-level pokéballs, like ultraballs, or masterballs. Common ones will be in pokéballs or priemierballs— there's a ranking chart farther down in the thread. But, why would we do this? Because it's fun. It's interesting to get a surprise, and you never know what you'll get!

User Image - Blocked by "Display Image" Settings. Click to show.

Of course, you also might be thinking; 'why in the world would I take a chance on a mystery pokémon?' There are several reasons, of course. The most obvious being that in most cases, this will be the easiest way to get pokémon that were released in the past. Really popular pokémon might be made available again in the future, and you can always trade for a pokémon you like.

Now, you might be thinking; it sounds alright, but...what about shinies? Surely if you put up a shiny pokémon, there'll be a huge rush for that one! With only two pokémon visible in each flatsale, I'll never get a chance! And that's where you would be wrong. You see, the only way to get a shiny pokémon outside of an auction, raffle, or other special sale is to find one in a pokéball! It's almost completely random!

Make sure to suggest our next Pokémon! while you're at it!

User Image - Blocked by "Display Image" Settings. Click to show. Raffles, Auctions, and Special Sales: each and every one of them be announced as early as possible, to give people time to prepare. Prices and rules for each special sale event will be posted in the 'current events' post on the second page, and will almost certainly differ for each and every one. Remember: a lot of customs, super rares, shinies, legendaries and popular pokémon from the past will be featured in this kind of sale.

User Image - Blocked by "Display Image" Settings. Click to show. The Mode of all flatsales will be the 'flaffle' method, with select few exceptions, usually during special sale events. This method is conducted by opening the sale for a period of time, and during that time, trainers who wish for a chance to purchase the flatsale pokémon will be allowed to put their name in. When time is up, a random roll will be made, and the winners will receive their pokémon!

It is possible to put in for any one pokémon, all of them, or any combination, but we request that you include all your entries in one post together, so that we won't get anything mixed up. Although all the rules and information for a flatsale will be reposted in the 'current events' post on page two at the proper time, the form for entering a flatsale will look like this:

Joy Nurse

As noted above, most flatsales will have a price of 5,000 gold for each pokémon, and less for each pokéball. Please make sure you have enough gold, before entering any of our sales!

Neverstone - Crap, you've evolved your pokémon, but you just can't stand how it looks now. What a pain. However, with the neverstone, your pokémon can go back one stage, and stay there! Once your pokémon has de-evolved by one stage, it acts like an everstone, holding it there. Buy it in an item sale.

Thunderstone - Use this to evolve certain pokémon. It tingles with a shocking radiation! Give it to your pokémon when it's first certed, and it'll evolve much mroe quickly, when it gets to the point of evolution. It's a good item for people who want to rush through the stages of evolution. Buy a Thunderstone when you get your pokémon certed, or at an item sale.

Right now the only thing you can customize is your cert. For now, there's only a few cert options available, but soon there will be plenty to choose from. But....just what is a cert?

Anatomy of a Cert:
User Image - Blocked by "Display Image" Settings. Click to show.

Pokémon Breed: This one's pretty self-explanatory. The kind of pokémon that goes on the cert! This one is a Cyndaquil. If you purchase a new cert, you can customize the color!
Trainer Info: This is the part where the nickname and the trainer's name go, as well as a few stats about the pokémon itself, for reference. If you purchase a new cert, you can customize the color!
Shop Title: "Pokémon Joyeux" say it loud and proud! This lets everyone who sees your certed pet know where you got it from.
Information Pod: This is the half of the cert that has most of the text and data. It's connected to the Pokémon Pod by a pokéball. The Pokéball is what your pokémon calls home! If you purchase a new cert, you can customize which pokéball it has.
Personality: This is a short phrase that tells a little about your pokémon. Feel free to extrapolate. If you want a particular one, you need to stipulate that when you get your cert, otherwise it'll be decided for you. If you purchase a new cert, you can customize this!
Pokémon Pod: This is the half of the cert that hold the pokémon and it's natural environment. It shows one of several backgrounds that you can choose from when you purchase a new cert, otherwise it shows the default background for that pokémon. When you purchase a new cert, you can ask for a custom background, or decide which of the existing ones you want!
Generation: First Generation Pokémon were purchased directly from the shop, or hatched from eggs that were. Second Generation ones have parents that were purchased, and so on. If you purchase a new cert, you can customize the color!

What are my options?
You have several choices for backgrounds, and more are on the way. Right now there's four options:

User Image

Depending on your pokémon, one of these options will come free! To change to a different environment is currently priced at a flat rate of 500G. It might seem steep, but that also includes the recerting fee. Consider the Lake, a moist and muddy playground for shallow-water and water's edge pokémon. Or perhaps your pokémon would prefer the gloomy and mysterious underbrush of the Forest? Both plains and fields are wide open spaces, perfect for any pokémon.

Pokéballs
Pokémon all come in a pokéball of some kind. Even hatched pokémon get one of their own! However, you might feel a little protective, and want to treat your beauty to a new pokéball to call home.

User Image - Blocked by "Display Image" Settings. Click to show. What's the Parlor?
Since this shop is modeled after a semi-realistic game-based sort of scenario, most pokémon are not going to be elaborately colored. In fact, the vastest majority of pokémon are going to look quite similar. Oh, they'll have markings, many of them, but on the whole they'll be of a clearly defined type. However, many pokémon, and their trainers, aren't satisfied by just being another face in the crowd. They want to stand out, and so the Parlor was opened!

User Image - Blocked by "Display Image" Settings. Click to show. But, what does it do?
In-character, the Parlor is a beauty shop, a place where pokémon trainers come to get their pokémon dolled up, painted, dyed, bleached, what-have-you. Whether their getting war paint for that big upcoming battle, camouflage for a sneaky rocket mission, or a flashy look for strutting 'round town, the Parlor is the place to go.
Out-of-character, the parlor is a place that allows you to change the superficial appearance of your pokémon....and sometimes more. Want a red and black pikachu? You got it! Squirtle modeled after the blue brothers? Deal! While in all but the most expensive cases, these changes will not pass on to eggs, they sure are schnazzy.

User Image
Illustrating that most cosmetics differ wildly from the natural coloring or markings

User Image - Blocked by "Display Image" Settings. Click to show. Wait, what?
Simply put, it's like makeup. Most pokémon simply don't come with random pink stripes or wild markings naturally. You pay gold, we paint a pretty face on your pokémon, and then everyone gets to have what they want.

User Image
An example of a pointless paint job

User Image - Blocked by "Display Image" Settings. Click to show. Evolution
Pokémon cosmetics have come a long way...but even the best dye-job can't survive the transformative powers of pokémon evolution! A pokémon that gets worked on in it's unevolved form will go back to au naturale when and if it evolves, making the cyndaquil pictured above an excersize in futility, unless it's kept as a cyndaquil with an everstone.

Illustrating some examples of simple and complex accent dye/bleach jobs

User Image - Blocked by "Display Image" Settings. Click to show. Just an Accent
Accent jobs can be complex or simple. Simple ones are almost like markings, they're just a dab here, a dot there, just a smidge of kohl around the eyes...subtle! They're the cheapest kind to get. Simple accents also include cover-ups to remove the appearance of markings that you don't like. Complex accents are a bit more involved and can include complicated tattoo-style markings, patterns, and things that just plain don't look natural. Prices vary depending on complexity, colors, number of stages, and other variables.
Price Range: 1000 - 20,000+

User Image xxx User Image
Illustrating some examples of partial and full body dye/bleach jobs

User Image - Blocked by "Display Image" Settings. Click to show. Add Some Body!
Body Jobs come in a lot of flavors, but they can generally be divided into partial and full-body jobs. Partial jobs are often just alterations of the colors over the patterns the pokémon already has. Foe example, a Ledyba with all it's red portions painted purple would constitute a partial body-job. Full-body jobs are some of the most expensive and can basicallyignroe everything about a pokémon's coloring to get the desired effect. A good example of this might be a Skarmory who's coloration resembles a peacock. You can combine a body-job with details similar to accent jobs for a really crazy look! Prices vary widely depending on complexity, colors, number of stages, and other variables.
Price Range: 10,000 - 100,000+

User Image
Illustrating a special job

User Image - Blocked by "Display Image" Settings. Click to show. Something...special
The magic of poké-science brings us a plethora of interesting foods and magical, medicinal sprays. In the field of pokémon cosmetics, there are a variety of dietary suppliments in the form of pill that we can feed to your pokémon to change colors that ordinarily would not be accessible. Pokémon with exposed flames or exterior glows such as Charmander or Rotom can change that color to suit their fashion tastes, and any pokémon at all can get a change in eye-color. Prices vary depending on complexity, colors, number of stages, and other variables.
Price Range: 2,000 - 5,000+

User Image - Blocked by "Display Image" Settings. Click to show. AWESOME! How do I order?
Currently, there are to ways to order a cosmetic 'improvement' to your pokémon: appointments and drop-ins! Appointments can be made when the pokémon is certed for the first time, and can be made for any point in time along the pokémon's evolutionary schedule. For example, let's say you win a pidgey in a flatsale. When you send in your gold for your pokémon and any cert alterations you might like, you can also ask for him/her to be painted, dyed, bleached, what-have you at that time. Let's say that you want him/her to keep these alterations throughout their life, without having to get a parlor slot every time the poor thing evolves. Then, you'll pay for those ahead of time, and when the pokémon evolves, it'll be instantly touched up! Prices may be lower per-job for full-life cosmetic arrangements. Overall, it is strongly recommended that cosmetics be limited to the final evolution, only.

If you choose, or were unable to order your special cosmetics when your pokémon was certed, never fear! Slots will open from time to time. If you get a slot, you can use it for the current evolutions, future ones, or any kind of job you like.

User Image - Blocked by "Display Image" Settings. Click to show. How Do Pokémon Evolve?
You may have noticed, but there's no way to level up your pokémon in this shop! Well, there might be a way in the future, but for now, Pokémon can evolve only a few different ways.

User Image - Blocked by "Display Image" Settings. Click to show. Ordinary Evolution:
Most pokémon evolve on their own, whenever it's their time! These pokémon will grow, just as an ordinary Breedable/Changing pet would. Some take longer, and some evolve very quickly. It all depends on the pokémon.

User Image - Blocked by "Display Image" Settings. Click to show. Friendship Evolution:
Some pokémon will only evolve if they're extremely happy, or have close friends. These kinds of pokémon will most likely only evolve at special request, or after extensive RP. Pokémon that evolve via happiness/friendliness may also evolve after a long time of having a single trainer, even if nothing special is done.

User Image - Blocked by "Display Image" Settings. Click to show. Item Evolution:
Some pokémon will never evolve on their own, no matter how long you have them. These pokémon need a little help from an item! Items of this sort will be made available when they are needed, and more information about them will be added at that time.

User Image - Blocked by "Display Image" Settings. Click to show. Why Won't My Pokémon Evolve?
There are a lot of reasons for a pokémon not to evolve. Maybe it's not old enough, or maybe it needs a particular item to evolve. Maybe you just haven't been paying enough attention to your little poképal. Some kinds of pokémon don't evolve at all! If you're distressed that your pokémon hasn't evolved, and you think it ought to, PM the shop mule, 'Joy Nurse,' and we'll make sure that the issue is all ironed out.

User Image - Blocked by "Display Image" Settings. Click to show. Now, what do you mean by that?!
In most shops, a 'trade' is when a colorist or an owner from another shop creates a pet for the shop and trades it for another, from the shop. But not in this shop, at least not mainly. We understand that you're taking a chance when you buy a pokéball without knowing what's in it. It's nerve-wracking! You go in hoping for an Eevee, and get a Rattata? Lame!

But maybe someone else is happy to make a switch for you. They have a Starly, and love Raticate, so they're happy to trade! In the pokémon world, this is perfectly acceptable, and so it is, here! However, in order to trade your pokémon, you need to be aware of the stipulations:

It must be paid for, in full - This seems kind of obvious, but you can't premptively trade a pokémon you haven't paid for yet.

It won't maintain it's friendliness level - Pokémon like Eevee or Togepi, which may or may not be close to evolving, will be set back to zero. That's right, the new trainer will have to start the waiting game, all over again.

It might evolve faster or slower - Some pokémon gain that last bit of necessary experience from being traded and evolve much faster. Others have to start all over again at step one. Still others won't evolve at all until they're traded, and then evolve immediately. You might be able to make a rough assessment of the time it takes for your pokémon to evolve before you trade it, but after it's been traded, all bets are off.

It costs gold to trade - That's right, we're charging you. Every time you trade, we have to recert your pokémon, YES EVERY SINGLE TIME. So, there's a flat fee of 600G for each trade. Send it in together, split it half-and-half, we don't care, but until the trade fee is paid and final, recerting won't happen, and neither will the trade.

Trade slots are limited - There is no open/closed timer for trade slots, however, there's only two trading machines in the Pokémon Joyeux Pokémon Center, so there can only be so many trades going on at once.

User Image - Blocked by "Display Image" Settings. Click to show. Well, how do I do it?
In order to initiate a Trade, first decide with the person you're trading with, exactly what you want to do. There's no free take-backs, so if you make a mistake, you'll have to wait to get it fixed, and that's no fun. Once you and your friend have decided on which pokémon you want to trade, send a PM to the shop mule with the following form, filled out:

Trade Form
User Image - Blocked by "Display Image" Settings. Click to show.TRADE FORM

Name of First Pokémon's Trainer:

~
Name of Second Pokémon:

Remember to put the sentence "Trade Between {Trainer 1} and {Trainer 2}" in the subject line for both the PM and the fee trade, so that there's no chance of a mixup. Remember, 600 gold for the whole trade, that's 300 Gold per pokémon. Pokémon that evolve via trade, or trade-with-item will evolve immediately.
