Because I rarely spend them anyways, and sometimes a 0 or low number on the gold meter is refreshing.

I haven't indulged on avi items in a while, and actually usually prefer getting pets from games and contests, which seem more challenging and fun than just gold bought, if you know what I mean.
I usually do try to keep around 20k though in case I need to support a friend or something for a raffle etc. I'll booty grab this weekend and next week.
