Egg Stage~ {1 week}
Pingui keep their eggs protected. Once laid, the father builds a pile of stones around each individual egg. These stones hold the egg perfectly upright, and also help keep the egg at the prefect temperature. It is important for the eggs to be kept straight up, and on a solid surface, such as an iceberg ground above the water level in order for the pup to grow normally. There have been reports that adjustments in the temperature and positioning of the egg can result in abnormalities.
Pup Stage~ {2 Weeks}
Once the egg has been left to incubate for a very short period of time, the shell begins to crack, and the Pingui Pup emerges into the world. It is at this stage that small differences can be see, easily distinguishing males from females. As pups, they are only able to move by dragging their bodies using their front flippers. They are able to begin speaking, but their vocabulary is not full.
Kid Stage~ {4 Weeks}
As the pups get stronger, they eventually learn to stand upright. More of their features become noticeable, and they start developing into well rounded Pingui. While they do not appear and "taller" or "longer" than the pup stage, their muscles have become much stronger, able to hold their full weight. The walk on their hind legs now, although their flippers are very strong. They are also able to hold a full conversation at this stage.
Adult Stage~ {Forever}
As adults, Pingui are completely grown, and well rounded. They are now able to breed and have families. It is at this stage that any abnormalities due to the incubation temperatures and egg positioning will appear.
The aquatic species of Pingui, known as Merwin, live primarily in the Indarys Ocean. Merwin can travel twice as fast as other species of Pingui in the water, however they travel half as fast on land. Merwin can inhabit all of the currently discovered continents of Puangara. Merwin can not climb mountains of any type.
The land species of Pingui, known as Petra, live primarily on the continent of Terramyst. Petra can travel twice as fast as other species of Pingui while on land, however, the travel half as fast in water. Petra can inhabit all of the currently discovered continents of Puangara. Petra and Regular species are the only two species that can climb mountains.
