School is keeping me way too busy. Just hosted a regional convention at our school today.

yeah it did, was only the second full week of classes too.

I want to go to the national convention but can't afford it.

Well the hotel is $200 a night, registration fee is $120 (those two things are actually paid for), but airfare is $300 and I need money for food as well for 3 days. Too expensive for me to afford...this is a neuroscience convention though so registration is kind of pricey. I've been to other conventions (goth, sci-fi) that had around a $25-50 registration fee.
