=Decemeber 20th= We now have two Lover's Rocks. One is for plot based personals and the other is for non-plot based personals.
=December 5th= Build-A-Plus CYO Soq Plus Event going on HERE!
=December 5th= Kaliskanny is now the shop general manager! We welcome her to the staff!!! <3 Wyntre is now the tagging Assistant Manager, assisting Yayoi with tags. She will specialize in the new default tags with the occasional custom tag order. Presca is now the new list manager. Go here to visit The Tag Gallery for free premade tags for pets. =November 29th= Soquili is now hiring colorists/breeders! The finalists for the PMed nominations have been selected as well and are moved to round #2 to color plushies.
=November 26th= Please go to this thread here to list any pets you are owed from all the staff that departed on Tuesday. The shop will make arrangements so that you will get any pets owed so please do not worry. Thanks, Sirenz and Soquili Staff. Hanyousblood has stepped down as a familiar colorist today. =November 24th= There is a very important announcement here.
=November 5th= Mobster Goose is now a junior colorist/breeder at the shop. We decided to hire someone now and then 1-2 folks in two weeks. Mobster has had tons of recommendations from owners and current staff. Welcome this talented and hard-working artist to the staff! <3 The event is now over. 'grats to all new owners. Dihydrogen. is now a senior colorist/breeder!!
=October 31st=As a general reminder for people, ownership of the third basket from a breeding cannot be built into co-own agreements and enforced if that Soq later breeds and produces 3 baskets. Ownership of the third basket is determined by the owners of BOTH parents, not just the owners of a co-owned one (see page 81534)
=October 27th= There is a Halloween event going on so click on the above link. The shop welcomes Yayoi to the staff as the newest familiar colorist to assist Astra and Hanyous. King Inversitle has left the shop due to RL issues. The shop is now hiring a colorist/breeder so click here for more information and how to apply.
=October 23rd= Endejester has been promoted to an Elder soquili colorist! [Vance] is now a Senior colorist!
=October 21st= This weekend will be the Halloween event! <33 The colorists all been working really hard and we can't wait to show you the awesome theme this year.

=October 08th= This weekend SiSi is going on a church retreat and will be back late Saturday evening. The Halloween event will start in like a week so I hope everyone is excited!! <3
=September 29th= SiSi is thinking of starting a Cafe Press soquili store where you can buy t-shirts, mugs and other things designed by her and other colorists. I made a poll to see if anyone would be interested in that. I sent out lots of WIPs and finished pets along with free familiars so please continue with the patience while I get everything done. There will be a Halloween event starting in an estimated 2 weeks from now so I hope everyone is excited!!!

=September 22nd= Catch up month is almost to a close but still continue your patience for things owed since lots of colorists are starting school and other RL things. As a thank you to all who been patient with Sirenz while she gets stuff done, there will be a free randomly colored familiar delivered along with your pets. You can give this familiar to another of your pets or to a friend. I'm thinking of doing one of my custom pets on livestream so everyone can see how I edit and color. I'll post a date and time when I do it. That will help me make working on pets more fun and interactive. I get so lonely when I'm cooped up in my room. The first newsletter will be going on either today or tomorrow. I hope that folks will continue to post RP content to give the newsletter some material. I may draw a comic strip while watching Vampire Diaries tonight and then scan it in. *huggles to all* exclaim If you want to submit RP related things for our next newsletter click here
=September 3rd= This weekend SiSi will be at AnimeFest with an artist table to hopefully sell the rest of the stuff I had at A-KON. If any owners come by my table then I will give a prize to you. I'm not expecting to see anyone so if you do come then surprise me! My table will be close by the entrance and I'll be dressed like a kitty. Catch up month has officially started so don't expect any breedings or customs. The colorists need to get caught up so they can keep you happy with finished pets and start on the Halloween event. I hope everyone has a great Labor Day weekend. I won't be online that much this weekend on AIM, email, twitter or Gaia. I'll try to pop by at night to work on stuff owed but won't be able to chat all that much. *sends out luff*
=August 24th= We had a staff meeting last Monday before SiSi's internet went kaputsky (but finally the repair dude fixed it. w00t!). An important topic discussed was the October event and that September will be an official shop-wide catch up month. No new breedings or customs will be opening the entire month of September so everyone can get caught up. We had a big custom event so all colorists need to have time to work on the 150+ customs ordered. *falls down* SiSi's net works now so is continuing her work on things owed as well. I wasn't able to work on stuff while the net was off because I had no forms saved on my computer. I'm now getting everything together so if you need to give me more references or info on pets that you ordered through RL commissions with me then email those changes now. Also, I'm in the DVD of the October issue of Imagine FX so click here to see. YAY!!!!
=July 30th= Everyone on staff is still catching up with pets owed. This Monday night SiSi will be leaving on a family vacation to the coast to celebrate her mom's recovery and sister's birthday. I'll be back either Thursday or Friday so until then and after I'll continue with pets owed. While I am gone, Cuter and Cajmera care for the shop so please mind them. Cuter has my phone number so can call me if there are any problems. Note to colorists: I paid for another year of photobucket pro so there wouldn't be any problems with uploading or image hosting.
=July 24th= SiSi's mom is finally cancer free after having a second surgery yesterday! YAY! To help celebrate there is a raffle with a very pretty pink ribbon uni here for 24 hours. I feel a lot better so am trying to get caught up with things owed. This news is a truckload of stress and worry off my back.^^;
=July 21st= Do you have any ideas for a future themed soquili event, flat sale, raffle, etc? If so then visit this thread. You can post your ideas!! yay! Please be patient while the colorists catch up on things owed. Many are backlogged (like SiSi for instance). Thanks!! <333
=July 16th= A Scavenger Hunt subforum interest thread is open so click here to provide feedback and ideas. The art contest awards ceremony will be this Saturday at 7 pm CST. =June 14= A big thanks to all who contributed in the questionnaire to help make the shop a happier place. Cuter will be having a live raffle so visit the questionnaire thread for details once she can set this up. Everyone needs to pat themselves on the back because the shop has been drama free for nearly a week! w00t! Next week there will be a shop birthday event to celebrate Soquili's 4th anniversary. I'm thinking there will be a small art contest, rp contest, craft contest, cooking contest and other cute events of that nature. There is a sign up thread to submit two of your favorite soquili for the art contest here. If you want to contribute any 4th birthday well-wishes or gifts to the shop and staff then go here. I hope everyone is excited for the birthday event. I know I am! I can't believe the shop is still going strong after all these years. I will try to get Leelakin to make an appearance but I haven't heard from her in awhile so no promises. <333 SiSi and staff.
=June 12th= There has been lots of trouble with drama lately so I made this thread to better explain drama and how to help stop it. Vance and Di are on a short haitus until this weekend.
=June 8th= It has been brought to our attention that there has been some recent confusion over breeding raffles and the 2 couple limit in breeding raffles. As a temporary solution to this confusion, we are allowing people to enter whichever 2 couples they would like to enter in the remaining open raffles (Di's and Tig/Nerp's). If you are to win a breeding in Dihi's, whichever 2nd couple you've entered in Tig/Nerp's raffle will be removed, so please let the other owner in your couple be aware of this. If you win a breeding and that same couple was listed in Tig/Nerp's, then it will be removed and your remaining couple will be your one entry. Tig and Nerp have been very accommodating and have pushed their raffle end time back an additional day, giving you extra time if you wish to wait to post your couples.
We apologize for any and all confusion this situation has brought, and assure you that the breeding rules are being looked at at this time for a revamp, including no future raffle overlapping.
On that note, I encourage you all to take the time and fill out our Soquili Questionnaire. Your input and suggestions are very much welcomed and desired (+ hey, you get a chance to win free crap, that's never bad, right?)
ALSO, as a head's up, next month we will be hosting an entire month of CUSTOMS, where every person will have the opportunity to post as many custom forms as they can afford, for a chance to have multiple customs done. So keep saving that gold, and more information will be posted about it in the near future wink
=June 6th= There is an announcement made that you need not be afraid to ask for help if something or someone is bugging you. You will be kept anonymous and the issue will be confidential. Please PM the Soquili mule so you can be helped. There are 3 girls who answer the mail! <33 Also the talented King is having a flaffle in the Sales Stable with several beautiful soquili with new common hairstyles. Say good bye to just 5 boring hairstyles for regular unedited soquili!! Also there are breeding raffles in the Breeding Subforum in the Services guild.
=May 22nd= Yayoi has made a new request thread for everyone so click here. It is much more user friendly. Check it out!
=May 20th= After a much difficult judging decision, the shop wishes to hire [ Vance ] and Dihydrogen. as soquili colorists/breeders. Zee Oddwyn and Mobster Goose can be guest colorists for an upcoming event. Due to budget problems I won't have any t-shirts or buttons available at A-KON with my soquili design on it. I will have as much stuff to give away as I can afford to. So many people have PMed me about attending SOQ-KON that I think we should have a little get-together to sit down and chat. XD Cajmera and CuterThanYou have switched jobs at Soquili. Cuter will be the General manager to oversee the main thread and help out with customer service. Cajmera will be the RP manager and help settle RP disputes and make sure everything RP is going well. There will be a staff meeting to welcome the new colorists and other stuff this Saturday at 8 pm CST.
=May 20th= King will be opening ONE bribe slot on Thursday (the 21st) at 11:00 AM PST. It will close on Saturday (the 23rd) at 11:00 AM PST. For more details, please check out the Back Alley Bribes!
=May 17th= For the first time, SiSi has an artist table at A-KON in Dallas (May 29-31) on the first floor section D. There will be some giveaways of soquili RL items such as a t-shirt, stickers, buttons, etc that SiSi has designed as well as a drawing for a free unedited soquili. You need to go to SiSi's booth #D-23 (my display will hopefully look like a purple dragonfly/mushroom castle if I can get it to work) in person to get yourself entered in the drawings. You can only enter for yourself or a friend. There can even be a small party for all soquili owners, location to be decided among those who can come. Please PM Soquili if you are attending. I hope to see many there! <3 I been busy working on stuff for my booth but will work on pets again later this week. Also, several colorists are catching up with things owed too. Next month there will be a party since the shop is 4 years old! More info on that to come. <3 The hiring thread ends Wednesday when two talented colorists/breeders will be selected.
=May 3rd= Apo has won the ad contest with 130 pts! A big 'grats to her! There will be 2 C/Bs chosen out of the Round 2 applicants because Natsube has left. Thanks to everyone for being patient while the colorists get caught up with stuff owed. *snuggles*
=May 1st= Natsube the C/B has resigned from the shop. She has left on good terms and gave "being spread too thin" as a reason for leaving. This talented girl has so much going for her and will surely make a big name for herself (although she has already here) in the animation world. She will be having a few customs opening before leaving so stay tuned for the dates. This will be your last chance to nab a "Natsube Soq"! The hiring thread will close Saturday at 7pm CST so get in all your applications in ASAP!
=April 20th= The Soquili Pokemon Event v. 2 is now open!
=April 18th= The shop is now hiring a colorist/breeder and familiar colorist. There is also an Advertising Contest! Visit the thread if interested! We are also catching up with stuff owed and gearing up for the 2nd Pokemon Event that is coming on or around the 20th.
=April 14th= Easter is now over so I hope everyone had fun. There was two raffle soquili so congrats to WNC and Sage for winning! A 2nd Pokemon event will be held around the 20th of this month so keep a look out. Also, the hiring thread to find new coloring talent for the shop will be opened this Saturday. Some soquili owners have made Twitter accounts so they can RP their soquili when they are not at their computer. That might be a fun thing to do if you are on your cell phone and can't get on Gaia to play. Many colorists are trying to get caught up with work owed so thanks for the patience!! Chibizoo and Imp are back in action so please be patient for them to get caught up with their work.
=April 4th= Slander is a new staff member that is converting the owner's list into a website. That way the info will stop being eaten. We welcome this awesome peep with open arms! Next week there will be a colorist hiring thread. Thanks for everyone's patience while we all get finished with things owed. Imp is now off haitus and is working to get caught up on things owed. Chibizoo and Ameh are out of town so are on haitus until further notice. I'm saddened to announce that Merangue is no longer working at the shop. This talented artist will greatly be missed. sad
=March 22= After a long overdue period, we are now open for Elder Applications! AS WELL, there is a NEW RULE concerning Soquili breeds (as this was discussed last night in a staff chat): No member of the Angeni race will find itself succumbed to the curse of the Skinwalker. As they are the purest race of Soquili and have the power to fight both Kalona and Skinwalker, we have determined that they are unaffected by Corpse Powder and will never face the infliction of receiving the curse of the Skinwalker. (you'll see why, in an upcoming plot planned ;3)

=March 1= Yesterday I added prices for the Cerynei and Seathi. I even reformatted the price list so it is easier on the eyes. I couldn't do anything today because I ate something that didn't agree with me for lunch and been having a stomach virus all day. Hopefully I will feel better tomorrow so I can work on stuff owed. Look forward to the 2nd Soquili Pokemon Event happening around Easter and a mini-event for the Seathis to introduce them into the world.

1. Two soquili can have the same name but do not abuse this. Try to be creative with your names at all costs. We are such a big shop that accidents with people getting the same name happen.
2. Common sense rules like no trolling, advertising etc. They are all covered in the breedables forum rules.

=October 4th= A new all staff lounge has been created in the RP guild, Soquili Era. The lounge in the Services guild is now colorist/breeder only. I decided to do this because the only ones who need to know top secret events, breeding rolls, etc are breeders/colorists. ^^; I been trying to get more caught up with my to do list this weekend so thanks for the patience!! The Halloween event has been changed to Dante's Inferno. We will have it the week of Oct 31st so keep a look out. biggrin The Elemental event will probably be in Nov or Jan.

I forgot to post this, but Ameh has been on haitus since Aug 20th and is on vacation currently. Sirenz is getting glasses on Saturday morning so will work on pets when I return. I got a new cell phone number so have given it to Caj and Cuter so they can contact me should there be any shop emergencies during the week. I haven't been coming on much during the week due to work related ailments so hopefully these glasses will help me to be on more weekly! <333

4. No user-run events without shop permission
5. No asking to co-own

1. Use whatever tense the creator of the RP went with (present or past)
2. If RPing with your avatar, create an indian persona for him/her. In the world of the Soquili every human is an indian. More about this in the guild.
3. Humans can't understand what a Soquili and familiar are saying...unless they use Soquili words. Visit page 2 for information.
4. Try to not to leave anyone out. Give people a chance to join in.
5. No god-modding
6. Try to use (( and )) for OOC talk..its required only when ppl are RPing in the thread.
7. When RPing your Soquili, it is recommended that you use a text color.
8. If you don't own a soquili or don't want to use an indian persona for your avatar, then you can use a normal looking pet to RP with.
ex: Shaoilin wolves, Cait, Gaian Humane, etc.. just no mythology/magical based pets.
9. Drawing/commissioning art of a horse and RPing it as a soquili is not allowed.
10. Dream soquilis don't exist yet in the soquili world so are not allowed to be RPed in the guild or thread.
11. You must wait 3 week before picking a breeding mate for a new soquili adult.
12. If your Soquili already has a breeding mate and they still want to flirt romantically with another..you should make an (( OOC )) post stating that to the other person.
13. Non-cosplays cannot take the name of a cosplay character and they cannot take that cosplay's personality either. Source
14. Accents other than an "American accent" are allowed if the soquili has a backstory about why they speak that way.

The Wind Horse was gone. That was what she had been told. The gentlest of creatures and strongest of heart was gone. But the little girl refused to believe it. Deep down inside her she still believed that he could be brought back and with that train of thought in mind, she left the village one dark night taking only a small ration of corn bread and her unyielding determination along with her.


Soon, her travels brought her to a glen where rumors had said that it was the Wind Horse's last place of being before he departed to the Great Hunting Grounds with a young boy. When she finally reached the glen however, the little girl searched and searched but found no trace of the Wind Horse. Dejected she sat down and cried when suddenly a gentle voice spoke out. 'Why are you crying daughter of the earth? Has something troubled you to bring you this far into the unknown?'


'Yes,' the little girl replied still weeping though somewhat comforted by the voice. She had hoped to find the Wind Horse and once again bring new tales and tidings of his courage and kindness to the world. But now it seemed that all effort was wasted.


'Perhaps not all effort,' the voice continued after a while. His memories still remain. His feelings, his thoughts, his prayers and if the little one was willing these thoughts could be brought to life but there was a price to be paid for it. The little girl listened gravely as the conditions were told and nodded her head. 'I will pay the price even if it is to revive these forgotten memories and I understand that even though the real Wind Horse will not return I would still want his memories and his prayers not to be forgotten,'

'It is done then,' the voice said and when the little girl looked down into her hand she found a dream catcher. Somehow deep within her she knew what must be done. That night as she slept she placed the dream catcher under her head. In her dreams, the little girl could see mists slowly swirling around and taking on various shapes and sizes. These were the different feelings of the Wind Horse and as they took shape the little girl marveled at their likeness and unlikeness to the Wind Horse. Suddenly out of the mist a solid shape took form and the little girl gasped. The image that was coming to her was the exact replica of the Wind Horse described in legends and as she reached out her hand to touch him, he disappeared and the girl woke up. Looking around the girl found out that her dream catcher was gone and standing before her was a creature of immense grace and beauty. Around its neck hung the dream catcher given to her by what she suspected was now the Great Spirit. 'Who are you?' she asked not daring to believe what was before her.

With a slight tilt of its head the creature snorted and in the back of the girl's mind a clear voice rang out. 'I am his thoughts, I am his prayers. I am soquili,' and the little girl suddenly found herself atop his back riding through the trees and plains at such a speed unimaginable to her. Behind her similar sounds to that of the footsteps of the soquili were heard and as she turned her head she saw many others like and unlike him following suit. Some had horns, some had wings and there were also some that had neither. Soon the herd reached the girl's village and some of the soquilis left the herd choosing to follow a different path while others that still harbored feelings towards humans stayed on.

Jumping off the soquili's back the little girl and the soquilis were welcomed by the villagers with great delight. Feathers were tied to their manes and songs were sung to them. Replicas of the dream catchers were made and hung around their necks and valuable cloths were wrapped around the little girl's ragged clothing. All in all it was a joyous occasion indeed and yet the girl remained silent throughout the ceremony as if deep in thought.

That night while the villagers were busy celebrating the arrival of the soquilis the little girl discreetly left the village along with her soquili and tried as they might, the villager could not find her. It seemed that she had just disappeared into thin air along with her soquili.

Many moons had pass and as the hunters were chasing wild buffaloes one spring day they noticed a herd of wild soquilis watching them. Taking a closer look a hunter let out a cry. The leading stallion had a dream catcher around his neck similar to the one that the lost girl had ridden in while the mare that stood by his side had beads and feathers tied to her hair customary of the women of their tribe. Sensing the hunter's surprise the mare stepped up to him and nibbled on his arm gently; her dark brown eyes shining with intelligence. Then as suddenly as it happened the mare turned around and galloped off together with the stallion; their manes flying in the wind. Too shocked for words the hunters returned home and reported their findings to the elders who nodded gravely in understanding. The girl had become one with the soquilis. That was the price she had agreed to pay to the Great Spirit for the existence of the soquilis in in this world.

Ever since then the villagers treated the soquilis with possibly more respect than they ever had and treated them like members of their family; weaving baskets to place the soquili's young in and shelter them from harm. It was the least they could do. It was their responsibility.

Princess Soquili: The princess is the first NPC you will meet. She is the shop mule and frequents the thread alot. Ever since Soquili can remember she has had a fondness for horses and was even named after them. As the daughter of the Kawani chief, Soquili is expected to behave very ladylike but she is just the opposite. The indian princess loves getting into mischief and adores soquili of all ages. In the meantime, I prefer to just be myself..a pest (is what my sister refers to me as). Grandmother Sequoia: Don't confuse her with another wooden granny! In the forest there are some giant trees, called Sequoias. The biggest one is inhabited by an earth spirit that my sister and I have come to know as Grandmother Sequoia. She says some pretty wacky stuff but my sister insists she is some kind of oracle. *le eyeroll*

Chief Tawadi: The big chief of the Kawani tribe and my daddy! During the New World event he was badly injured but the old fart is doing great. xp

Oyohusa: He is a frail but fearful man who is a skinwalker by night and terrorized the Kawani village. The skinwalker curse was given to the first soquili by him and he brought pure skinwalkers into our world from the Indian Burial Ground. He was banished from the Kawani village forever by my father so we will never see him again..hopefully.

Uyoiwaya: On the night that Oyohusa left, this female skinwalker came in his place. She is now the keeper of all pure skinwalkers and corpse powder. The elders believe she is Oyohusa's daughter that has come to seek vengence on the Kawani people for banishing her father. I don't know what the truth is but.. Ajadi: This boy is what I call a fish out of water! He is of the undersea people called Merloks but wants to be human. The Kelpis and Mers were brought to the Kawani people by Prince Ajadi. My sis has a lil crush on him but don't tell her I told you! XD Played by: Sirenz

Sahani (soquili-arrivals): Sahani loves showing off all the new soquili that have been found, born, and grown up! He loves the color blue and is even named the Cherokee word for the color. Foalen: Foalen has grown up in a village far from here raised at the knee of the tribes shaman with three other shaman candidates. As a final test of his students to see who would earn the right to succeed the old shaman when it was time, the three were sent out into the world on a vision quest. The one to return and recite his vison to the shaman with proof that it was a true telling would become the shaman's heir.




Vashtya: No one besides Vashtya himself is really sure of his exact history before he showed up at the outskirts of the Kawani village, looking rather the worse for wear. His hair was gnarled and unkempt, his buckskin clothing was ragged, he was covered in scratches, and he'd been clutching a knife like a lifeline, a wild expression in his silvery eyes. It had taken him a few weeks to fully relax and show himself to be less wary than the wildest of forest creatures.

[Soquili]

= Stages =

Soquili are rare horses that are believed to belong to the gods. Most of them are adorned with dreamcatchers to ward off evil spirits and allow the horse to have peaceful dreams. Until recently, the Kawani Native American tribe was responsible for the care of this sacred animal; now, they have invited outsiders to help.

Basket

When a baby is first born, they are placed safely in a hand-woven basket by a Kawani shaman. This is because baby Soquili are very weak and vulnerable, unlike other breeds of horses. Some believe that the babies are simply born too early and need a faux womb to gather their strength. Inside the basket, enough food is placed to last them until they decide to come out. They must leave the basket themselves and are not to be coerced in any way by their owner, as doing so would severely alter their development and motor skills. (A secret is that the baby needs to begin to trust their owner before coming out.) They do not like loud noises, as they enjoy sleeping a lot, though they do love singing and rocking. There are a variety of ways to get a Soquili baby to come out of its basket early.

Foal

After the Soquili's owner earns their trust, they pop out of the basket as a beautiful young foal. They have a sudden burst of energy which causes them to have to explore and find out about everything around them. This is understandable since they had been living in their confined woven space since birth.


Mare/Stallion

All your hard work as a loving owner has paid off! Adult Soquili are stunning beauties and can now breed! They can participate in several games, too.


Elder

These soquilis reached 100% stats and must now be a symbol of a Cherokee god. The god bestows upon them gifts of abilities and powers as they see fit. There is a subforum for elders only where they can worship their gods. Other soquilis look up to them since they are very wise. An elder can give great advice on almost anything. Another cool thing about elders is they have a standard of 3 baskets (with a chance of a 4th!) since they are ultimately blessed by the gods.

Regular Soquili

This kind looks like a normal horse. They don't possess any magic and spend their time on land. Regulars get along good with all other Soquili kinds and most have a good nature.

Wind Soquili

This rare kind of Soquili have big bird-like wings and can fly! Some say they are the full reincarnation of Wind Horse. They watch over regular Soquili like guardian angels.

Uni Soquili

This kind of Soquili is said to be a crossbreed of the unicorn plant, which the natives use for medical reasons, and a Soquili by the spirits. Whatever the truth is... they are extremely rare. It is very difficult to find one, as many are killed by hunters for their horn, which has healing properties.

Kiri Soquili

Kiri are generally very shy and kind in nature (of course some can be the opposite. XD). It is said they would never harm another living thing and even avoid stepping on ants, swatting flies, and can walk on grass without trampling a single blade. Even though they are gentle if an innocent is threatened by the wicked then kiri can become fierce. They are based on one of the many types of kirins and can come with a curved or antler type horn as well as scales. These are skilled in meditation (calming techniques) and acupuncture (pressure points) that can be used to help other soquili. Legend has it that they bring their owners serenity. Kiris can also walk on water for no more than 10 minutes through meditation (those with higher levels can do this longer) so could befriend Kelpi and Mer soqs quite easily. They are vegans (never eat meat) as well.
note: The custom kiri created before 6/14/08 will retain the healing properties of a uni (kind alike a kiri/uni cross) as well as the kiri specific qualities if the owner wishes. Retagging isn't necessary but can be done if preferred.

Flutter Soquili

This ultra rare kind of Soquili is smaller in size and are usually found fluttering around flowers/plants. These can resemble any type of flying insect/bug such as butterflies, beetles, etc. They help the crops grow too so that everyone in the Kawani village has enough to eat.

Ali Soquili

This kind isn't pure, but rather, is the result of uni and wind mating in the wild. The Kawani people have located a few, but they are so extremely rare that not much is known about them. What is known, however, is that the alis can fly, though not as high as a pure bred wind Soquili and they can heal, though not as well as a pure bred unicorn. They are quite a sight to see! eek

Kalona (Demon) Soquili

The Kawani people are too terrified to even talk about this kind of Soquili, but they agreed to for reference. These are said to belong to the evil spirit Kalona that usually takes the form of a raven. Kalona destroys crops and reaps evil upon whoever dares to cross him. The Soquili that Kalona possesses have hideous wings and a cold stare. They do not wear dreamcatchers like the other Soquili but instead wear things too terrible to mention.

Kelpi (Water) Soquili

These have been showing up rarely at night in the waters of the village and in the ocean. Some say they come from a land of the pale-faced red hairs. These are considered evil and the villagers stay away from them. They disguise themselves as a beautiful horse trapped in a lake but if you try to help it then it will gladly pull you under. Some have fish fin-like wings similar to flying fish. They use their wings to soar over the waves. Kelpies can dive deep into the water and many have made undersea homes to raise their young. Some have unicorn horns (Uni Kelpi).

Skinwalker (Coyote) Soquili

Skinwalker Soquili are outcasts, living by themselves with other skinwalkers. These Soquili can shed their skin and become a coyote familiar at will, usually during the night. They have a coyote skin on their head and a coyote tail. They appear vicious, so always approach them with caution.

Unikalona

This is a new crossbreed of a unicorn and kalona in the wild. It is extremely rare since kalonas usually only mate with their own kind. Some elders believe it is the result of a kalona coming into contact with firewater and meeting a unicorn..believing it is another kalona. The offspring have multiple personalities like that of Golum from LotR. They have both a good and evil personality that keeps switching back and forth. It always results in tragedy since one personality strives to become the dominant...usually the evil one. It is incredibly difficult to mate this soquili because unicorns and kalonas are natural enemies and both consider unikalonas as an untouchable.

Angeni

These soquili are noble spirits who take the form of an angelic horse. Angeni means 'Spirit Angel'. They can live in the clouds like angels and when they come, you hear soft tubular bells. Angeni take on certain themes like Christmas and have those abilities accordingly. No one has seen them take the form of their spirit, which is human in appearence. Some have even been in the horse form for so long like the Christmas angeni that they can't change into their spirit.

Crossbreed

Any other cross of soquili that is usually the result of breeding in the wild or captivity.

Mutant

These may have custom wings or horns that don't pertain to any kind. Anything pretty much goes on them.

Horse Breed Edition

These are colored like natural horse breeds. They look more lifelike than other kinds and are more successful in childbirth because they are purebreeds.

Wildlife Edition

All of these Soquili are colored like animals. They have better instincts and most act... well, wild of course!

Tribal Edition

These can be any color of the rainbow and also have special tribal patterns, like birthmarks.

Spirited Edition

These are just colored all kinds of crazy ways. The natives say they get their kooky patterns from the spirits. ^_^

Special Edition

This breed is special in some way. They might of been created for a special event or holiday.

Cosplay Edition

This breed resembles a favorite character of the owner. They might have the same personality and mannerisms, but they rarely have powers.

=Information=

Usdia (pronounced Ooo-Es-Dee-Ah) are a breed of pony soquili that have been recently discovered by Tasunke as he was gathering herbs beyond the mountains. He and his friends herded many over to the Kawani village so they can find homes with caring owners. These are less expensive than a soquili because of their small compact size and don't require as much food. They have the same stages as a soquili but no elders like the mersoquili. It is believed that these were gifts from the Great Spirit to the people in the village who cannot afford a beautiful soquili of their own. You can't breed regular soquili with Usdia either. It could kill a female if she had a big baby. Not even flutter soquili because they are born full size from the mother. The adult usdia are a few feet smaller than a normal sized soquili foal and the foal usdias are up to a regular sized foal's belly. These have the same breeds as a soquili but if one is colored like a RL pony they are a "Pony Edition".

=Information=

Mers are half horse and half fish that hatch from smaller clamshells. Unlike the Kelpi, these are usually gentle spirited creatures but extremely shy. They can swim the deeper and faster than every other animal in the Soquili's world! Mers hatch from an egg that is protected in a clamshell by the Merloks. When they hatch into foals they are usually 3 feet in length. Adult males can grow to be up to 8 feet long from nose to tail tip but adult females are usually smaller. They don't have an elder stage like the usdia. Mers are usually brightly colored so they can hide in coral reefs but some are darker in shade that can hide in dark grottos and caverns. They rarely come to surface but usually do only at night so they won't be seen. Like the kelpies, these are a carefully guarded species by the Merlok people who are wary of the human beings in the Kawani village. They have the same breed editions as soquili but "Fish breed" edition is added if one is colored like a fish. More info on these later.

=Information=

Pronounced: Cee-athee. The seathi are a gentle playful kind of soquili that prefer lagoons and tide pools. They are usually very bright in color so they can hide in the rainbow coral reef that stretches several feet from the lagoon. There are some dark in color that prefer to hide in the shadows and have darker personalities. It is said that the brighter a seathi is then the more lively and spunky but that isn't always the case. They have curly monkey-like tails so that can latch onto the coral where they feed. Seathi can only breed amongst themselves but have a very unique way of giving birth. A female will give the babies to a father seathi whom will hold them in his pouch. This makes the male appear pregnant! The babies are then placed in a colorful shell to protect them from predators after they are old enough to leave the pouch of the father. When a seathi hatches from their shell as foals they have high energy levels and are extremely ranbunctious. Think of seathi as usdias of the sea!!
Size: adults are the size of a medium cat and foals are the size of a kitten.

[Soquili]

These cuddly animal spirits that are found through RP and events. Only one familiar per Soquili is allowed. Each one gives a different gift and benefits the Soquili as a conscience as well..

Ferret (tsi-s-ga-tsi da-lo-ni) - Ferrets are a type of weasel. They are domesticated and behave similar to a very mischievous cat. Although they appear harmless, they can be vicious snake and rodent killers. A ferret is generally a sweet loyal friend and doubles as stylish 'live' fur that warms your shoulders on a chilly day.

Wolf (Wah-ya) - While they usually travel in packs with other wolves, a few have taken a liking to the pretty horses known as Soquilis. Although they can never be fully tamed, a well-loved wolf will begin to act like a domesticated dog. They are very loyal to those they love and are usually found guarding the teepee of their owner.

Bear (Yo-na) - They may look like a docile teddy but bears are very ferocious and difficult to tame. One of the rarer familiars.

Bunny (Tsi-s) - These adorable critters bestow Soquili with gift of increased fertility. A Soquili with a bunny familiar has an increased chance of having more than two babies. Soquilis without bunnies have a shot at this too, just ones with bunnies have slightly more luck. Bunnies are the hardest of the familiars to obtain.

Fox (Tsu-la) - Foxes give the gift of increased speed and intelligence. This helps a soquili get an edge in racing/hunting games they can participate in during adulthood. Soquili without a fox could win one of thse games too, just ones with foxes have slightly more luck. Foxes aren't that hard to find. You just need to know where to look.

Mountain Lion (Tlv-da-tsi) - These give gifts of increased courage and strength. This also helps a Soquili get an edge in racing/hunting games. They are more difficult to find.

Raccoon (Gv-li) - Gives gifts of increased luck and stamina. They are like bandits and sometimes find gifts for your Soquili. Much more difficult.

Hawk (Ta-wa-di) - It is unsure at this time what a hawk will do for your Soquili..but it is rumored to be a familiar of Wind Soquili only ..or very lucky normal Soquili.

Buffalo (Ya-ni-sa) - Buffalos are ultra rare familiars that are quite tame once your soquili matures. They like to wear a head feather similiar to a human so many think they are reincarnated ancestors.

Sea Otter (Tsi-ya) -Otters are playful critters that live on coast. They love to swim in the water on their back and make cute sounds amongst themselves. They are loyal protectors of the ocean beneath.

Dolphin (???) - Dolphins are frisky friends in the deepest waters who usually befriend Kelpi soquili. It is rare for them to familiarize with other soquili types but it could happen. They are the most intelligent of all the familiars.

How do you say Soquili?

How can I get one??
-Check the availability section to see if any are available. ^_^

Can I just have one right now??
-No. They take alot of work to find so you will have to obtain one like everyone else.

How long do they take to grow up?
These aren't exact estimates. IRL issues can happen.
-The baskets hatch to foals from a couple of days to two weeks.
The foals grow up to adults from three weeks to a month.

Can they breed?
-Yes!

How many babies do they have?
-Two is the standard, but more babies are possible.

Can I sell or give away my Soquili's baby?
-Sure! All selling is done through the shop. The shop gets 25%, the breeder gets 50%, and the owner gets 25%. It is against the rules to sell a baby on your own.

How come I would only get 25%?
-Selling babies, while allowed, should not be viewed as a 'gold maker'. These are pets not baby factories.

How do I get a mate for my Soquili??
-RP in the guild or thread. Bluntly asking in the thread is a no-no. PMing an owner of a single adult is ok too. Just don't PM them more than once.

Are these RP required?
-No. RP is encouraged and is rewarded. Your pet grows up faster and can get the elder stage.

OMG! Did you draw these yourself??
-No. I commissioned Leelakin to draw them. I do color and shade them though.

How do I get a familiar??
-Familiars are obtained through RP, flatsales, and auctions. Events as well.

Why is there NPC? What's that??
-NPC means 'Non-player character'. For example, Tasunke works at the Trading Post and he sells cool stuff. No one plays him..he is just there to help.

I seen some Soquili with wings! What's that about?
-Wind Soquili are sold very rarely. You can't get wings for your Soquili if they were born without wings. That would require a wacky operation..and even still they wouldn't work.

If a Wind Soquili mates with a regular, will the babies be regular or winged??
-There is no way to know. Wind Soquili have a recessive gene that is rarely carried through breeding. It could happen, but don't expect it. Only mother nature knows for sure.

What about other breeds?
Basically the same thing goes as Wind.

Can I ride my Soquili?

-Sometimes they will be open. Check the availability section.

Can I have a job or be a guest colorist?
-We aren't hiring anyone else at this time. In the future, we will have guest colorists but we will seek them out...not the other way around.

I see that some Soquili are in the random main banner! Can I have mine in there?
-I may change the main banner in the future but for now the soquilis there are staying.

Can my foal flirt with another foal? Can we pick mates this early?
-No. "Pimping" young foals is not allowed. They do not feel ready to have a relationship until they reach adulthood.

Can I RP my avatar along with my Soquili?
-Yes you may, but in the world of Soquili all the people are Native Americans. Your avatar can decide which tribe they want to belong to or they can just live among the Kawani tribe.

Can I RP other pets in the Soquili thread?
-Yes, but only normal looking pets..no mythology based.

How can I get a teepee? Why would I need one?
-If you plan to RP your soquili alot then a teepee would be a good idea. You can get one in the guild by PMing soquili~teepees.

Can I have a custom? How much?!
-Yes you may when slots are open. Check the 2nd page for info

Do you accept IRL money as payment?
-Yes, check the 2nd page for info.

OMG! I saw a natural (i.e. animal) Soquili and LOVED it, can I custom a Soquili colored like that animal as well??
-That depends. For the most part, there can only be two naturally colored Soquili in existance, one male, one female. The only exception is when same sex-twins are commissioned, and both must be commissioned at the same time. If there are already two Soquilis in existance colored like red foxes, you can't get one. However, varieties are allowed (for example, there are already two white tigers, but you could get black tigers, or albino tigers, or pink tigers...)

...There are already a male and female animal Soquili, but I also see that animal has been made into an Usdia. I thought that wasn't allowed???
-Animal designs can be repeated onto Usdia following the same 'one per gender' limit; so technically there could be four pets all looking like scarlet macaws, two males and two females, two Soquilis and two Usdias.

So, does that mean that I can get a cosplay as a Soquili (or Usdia) if it already exists as an Usdia (or Soquili?)
-No. There can only be ONE cosplay of any character made. Even if someone got a cosplay of Godzilla as an Usdia, you couldn't get a Godzilla cosplay as a kalona.
