I know what you mean about wanting one of your very own. (Hell, I have none. No co-owns or anything so consider yourself blessed/lucky in a way. I'm hoping my custom gets chosen too...) There are quite a few people here still who have lurked, talked, done events, etc etc for over a year and still don't have one of their own. It's rather sad if you think about it....

and it depends on the time and day

I would disagree. I think that you're noticed or not depending on who else is in the thread. If you have friends or those you talk to often in here, you'll get a response with barely any effort at conversation.
If the people about aren't friends or chatter buddies, you have to make a real effort to get people to take any notice of you.

I think that applies for newbies, existing owners, anyone, really.
