4 ~ Also, READ THE FIRST PAGE. All your questions will likely be answered here.
5 ~ If anyone is seen causing drama in the thread, they will be warned. If it keeps going, the person will get a second warning. After the third warning, if the drama continues, Manda or Seph may choose to greylist them for a short time. If things still do not improve, eventually the person could be blacklisted. Thread-mods may issue these warnings as well as Manda or Seph.
6 ~ Do not PM the shop mule or owners unless you are asked to or you are PMed first. However, in relation to the previous rule ... if help is needed in sorting out a problem, you may feel free to PM Manda or Seph for this purpose.

:: About Obtaining Ponies ::
1 ~ The only way ponies may be sold is by Staff, in FS's or other events. No owner may sell their pony for profit. If you want to give your pony to someone else, or hold a free event to let someone else adopt it, this is fine :3
2 ~ In order to obtain a pony, you must have posted in the thread. It would also help if you were seen around the thread a bit by the staff beforehand. There are one or two other users who have known mules that they post on and sometimes order ponies from. These people should NOT use the mule's name as the owner, but their own. This is different, and we generally know who these people are.
3 ~ Thread-presence is required for your pet to grow. This doesn't mean you have to RP. But we'd like to see you hanging around and chatting in the thread at least. It really bugs us when someone we haven't seen around the thread at all comes to us complaining that their pet hasn't grown. If we have no idea who you are, you're not going to be on the top of our list.
4 ~ Regarding special cert backgrounds (since this has apparently been mis-interpreted). The ONLY ponies which may have cert backgrounds other than the defaults are Cosplay ponies, or ponies from special shop events. A Cosplay is any pony that is dressed up as or based on another character - whether this be fan character (Naruto, Inuyasha, Ichigo, etc) or an original character. Ponies from events - such as the TWEWY ponies - may also have different cert backgrounds if they are based on a specific thing (i.e. Noise or Pins). For the most part, large events will have an assigned background - such as the Cauldron ponies have - which will be used for all ponies from the event other than character Cosplays. All other ponies, including the children of Cosplays, should have the NORMAL cert background. Also, children of Cosplays should be labeled as Earth ponies so far as species goes.
5 ~ Please refer to the Pony Quests subforum before ordering or starting a quest for any Cosplay pony! The Cosplay Reserve system is stored there. The Cosplay Reserve system is way you can 'claim' up to 5 Cosplay ponies at a time that you are actively questing for. For all other information on this, please see the post in the subforum. Also, there are lists of Taken Cosplays and Cosplays In Progress in the Customs subforum.
6 ~ You may never, ever, use others' ponies without their permission. This includes using them for breeding, posting them somewhere to "show them off", putting them in your signature, your journal, etc etc etc. The ONLY exception to this rule is posting the family of a pony for breeding. However, in this case, only the family members of previous generations ever need to be posted. Really, not even the breeding pony's brothers and sisters would need to be posted for this. Only parents, aunts, uncles, grandparents, etc. For co-owning rules and how this works, please see below. Also, colorists may still use any pony they have colored as custom examples. Pretty much, by coloring the pony in the first place they're allowed to do this. I don't want to be unclear here and have someone come to me later complaining a colorist is showing off their pony or something.
7 ~ The CYO lines are to be used for official shop CYO events ONLY. You may not use these lines to make your own references for customs - either edited or unedited. It's one thing to link to an officially certed CYO pony and say 'I want colors/design similar to this, but with these changes and these edits'. Entirely another to edit or color the lines yourself and send them to a colorist as a ref. If you need a ref on horse or pony lines that badly, look for some free horse clipart/lineart on Google or Deviantart, you can probably find some easily enough!

:: RP Rules ::
1 ~ No baby pony should be flirting seriously with or falling head-over-heels in love with any pony really (as they shouldn't yet understand such things) much less a pony that is older than they are. Puppy love and cute little crushes should be mostly ok, but please don't take it beyond that until your pony is at least a teen!

:: Co-owning Rules ::
1 ~ Co-owning is allowed in this shop. Each pony may be co-owned between no more than two people. If you co-own a pony, we ask that you please post an agreement between the two owners in this thread!

A ~ Whenever we have the time to color pets for them and run them. Flatsales will be announced in advance.

Q ~ So you have breeding! That's awesome! What all is allowed with that?

Q ~ I don't have that much gold ;.; Do you take items as payment??
A ~ Yes! Items are valued at mid-tektek. Some colorists who run auctions may prefer pure gold, though, so please check before you assume

Q ~ Can I own more than one?
A ~ Yes! You can buy as many as you can afford. The only hitch is, you may not buy more than one Pony per flatsale or auction. If you have the goldies to buy more than one custom at a time O.o Go for it. You may still buy a second Pony FOR someone else in a flatsale or auction.

Q ~ Are there cosplays? Can I buy one?
A ~ For customs, you can definitely get a cosplay pony! Also, some cosplays may be colored and sold in auctions or given away as part of events.

Q ~ Do you do pet trades?
A ~ Sometimes. Please PM the individual colorist you wish to try for a pet trade with and they can tell you if they do trades or not and if they accept whatever you're trading.

Q ~ Can I ask something that will be added to this FAQ?

:: Dream Valley ::
Dream Valley is the home of most Earth ponies, and a good mix of other types as well - including Pegasus, Unicorn, and some cosplays. Located on an island, temperatures are usually warm and comfortable year-round, unless one climbs up into the mountains on either side. Here, it can get colder, even to the point of finding snow on some of the tallest peaks.



:: Nightmare Valley ::
Nightmare Valley is the home of more Earth ponies who's tempers run a bit more toward the ... bad side. Most Halloween-type ponies also live here, as well as several cosplays, and many of the young Dragons recently rescued in an expedition to the Dragon Lair. Temperatures here range from warm in the summer to cold and wet in the winter. Up higher on the mountain slopes, weather gets colder year-round and can change in an instant on the high peaks, so be careful! Marking a pass leading into the Valley coming from the direction of Dream Valley are the Lake of Sparkles and the ruins of a giant mirror that was broken during the quest to find the Dragons. A volcano to the north has recently erupted, leaving that area full of cooling lava and dangerous to explore.



:: Flutter Valley ::
Flutter Valley is the home of the Flutter Ponies and some of the Breezies. In the center of the peninsula is a circle of stones surrounding a large golden gem set atop another stone. This is the Sunstone, which gives the Flutter Ponies their energy and power.



:: Rainbow Reef ::
Rainbow Reef is where Sea Ponies of all shapes, sizes, and colors live! This reef runs all the way around the island of Dream Valley and the edge of the continent where the other areas are. It's a wonderful and beautiful place, perfect to go for a swim!



:: Dragon Lair ::
These caves high on the side of a northern mountain are mostly abandoned now, but used to be the home of the Dragon ponies. Temperatures here are generally cold all year round, despite how close it is to the nearby desert.



:: Mer-Pony Islands ::
These are the islands where the Mer-Ponies live! Trailing in a line down from Sunshine Island, they are warm and pleasant all year round. It's also easy for Mer-Ponies to get in and out of the water here, and they love their two-part home.



:: Sunshine Island ::
Ever wanted a family tree or portrait for your ponies but you don't know how to make one? Want your ponies to wink at you on their certs? How about adding some items to them, or giving them scars?

Sound like fun? Well, if you think so, come and visit the Shops of Sunshine Island! You're sure to find all your needs there~

This post is just to give everyone a simple example of the basic stages and information on what ponies are capable of in each stage. For more in-depth info on all the species of ponies, see the post in the guild dedicated to this.



:: Baby ::
As a baby, ponies will have a hard time walking around for a long time; though they can walk and some can run a bit, they will tire easily. Babies love to play though and tend to do so at all hours of the day when they aren't eating or sleeping. Some Talents might start to show up at this stage, though if they do, they will be very weak.



:: Teen ::
Teens can walk and run pretty much as often as they like, though they will still be awkward. They also still like to play, but are starting to get more serious and closer to whatever their personality will be as an adult. Talents begin to show up more and more at this stage, though they still can't be fully controlled.



:: Adult ::
Adults are in full control of their physical abilities and Talents and are eligible for breeding!

Talents are special abilities that ponies of all types can use to help them get around and do things in their world! Below is just a small sampling of some of the more common Talents. Everyone who gets a pony is free to make up their own Talent, however, so the possibilities are endless!

Growth ~ makes plants grow
Weather ~ can make mild weather happen; rain, snow, wind, fog, etc.
Storm ~ can make stronger weather happen
Shine ~ light emanates from Pony
Sparkle ~ can throw/create light sparkles
Ember ~ can create small fire
Fire Dance ~ can make larger fire
Vine Wrap ~ wraps vines around things
Glide ~ can glide in the air if they jump from a high place
Droplet ~ can "call" or make small water
Water Spray ~ can "call" or make large water
Healing Breeze ~ can heal other Ponys
Illusion ~ can make illusions
Breeze ~ can "call" or make small wind
Wind Storm ~ can "call" or make large wind
Speed ~ can run fast
Freeze ~ can "call" or make small ice
Ice Deluge ~ can "call" or make large ice

The following Talents were originally created for Halloween ponies and (in general) may only be used for these ponies~

Suck - can suck the blood and strength from other ponies
Shadow - can "call" or make shadows
Darkness - can "call" or make darkness
Wrap - can use bandages to wrap up other ponies
Dive - can dive down from above to attack others
Drain - can drain health from other ponies at a distance
Scare - can scare others away with appearance, illusion, so on
Fear - similar to scare, but plays on the fears of others
Terror - paralyzes other ponies with ... well, terror
Mind-Warp - can enter another pony's mind and corrupt it

:: Pony Bucks ::
Pony Bucks may be used in place of gold for Flatsales, Customs, and Breedings. At this time, they may not be used for anything else (i.e. raffles and auctions). Pony Bucks will likely be given away only in shop events or possibly to dedicated thread-goers or RPers.

Amounts:
1 PB = 5k
5 PBs = 10k
10 PBs = 20k

:: Information ::
So you want to have babies, do you?? Well, there's a few things you should know first...

To begin with, pony breedings cost 50k each (25k per owner if there are two owners), and pretty much happen by magic! This means that the gender of the partners wanting children doesn't matter. It also means species doesn't matter (so far as one species being larger or smaller or anything like that). The only exception to this is that Dream & Nightmare Legends cannot breed with each other. How is this possible, you ask??

Well... you see. In various areas of the My Little Pony world, there are small areas where the magic that formed the world is particularly strong. No one can ever really predict where they are... but if two ponies happen to be close to one of these areas and they like each other... well, then. They might just suddenly find later on that the stork has dropped off some little ones!

The number of babies possible in all normal breedings is two to four. There are some special circumstances, though, so keep reading!

:: General Rules ::
1 ~ Since ponies have to like one another for the magic of breeding to work, please let's not have anything like rape or forced mating, etc. :C That's just not any fun. This doesn't mean that your ponies can't be mean/trick others/be rough if you so wish, but that's not exactly the same thing. If two ponies LIKE well ... pain and such... then that's fine, it's not one forcing another to do something they REALLY don't want to do. This also goes for One Night Stands. Those are totally still allowed, they just can't be forced.
2 ~ From this point forward, all ponies have a breeding limit of three for any breedings that are NOT RPed. This means that each pony may only breed three times UNLESS they RP and send in logs with their breeding request. If the breedings are RP breedings, they are pretty much UNLIMITED. Any ponies who have had babies before Feb. 2008 get to "start over". Meaning that no matter how many breedings they had before this point, they now have three more non-RP breedings and then they may not breed again unless the breedings are RP breedings.
3 ~ Send your trade of 20k to the appropriate colorist as soon as your request is approved! Breedings will not be started without payment!
4~ Your pony MUST be named and certed before they can breed. Please post parents' certs for breeding forms so there is no confusion on this. You can also include a full-size image as a link but the certs should definitely be posted.
5 ~ Any pair of ponies that has babies from a previous breeding may not breed until those babies are at least teens. And it's preferred that previous babies be adults before ponies breed again.
6~ If you have babies from a previous breeding those must be named and their information posted in a certing thread/sent to colorist before you may get another breeding. This is only once you HAVE the uncerted babies. Any point in time slots are open and the breeding you've ordered is still waiting to be rolled/colored/whatever you may order another. You may also still (if slots permit) order more than one breeding at a time.
7 ~ If you are wanting throwbacks and posting ancestors you MUST post ALL direct-line ancestors from both parents' sides. That is: grandparents, great-grandparents, etc. Direct-line ancestors are the ones that will count when determining species of throwback babies. Other ancestors may also be posted, but they will just count for color possibilities and perhaps edits on babies.

:: On Babies ::
1 ~ In the case of single-owner breedings... One baby must ALWAYS be given away. The only exception to this is if there are only two babies. Then the single owner may choose to keep both, but it is preferred that they still give one away.
2 ~ For breedings in which two owners are involved, each owner may keep up to two babies UNLESS the breeding is an RP breeding, in which it's possible for owners to keep three (if five or six are rolled).
3 ~ If there is an uneven number of babies in ANY breeding, owners are encouraged to give away the "extra" baby. This isn't necessarily a rule, but it's suggested just to keep everything fair. If owners wish to work out between themselves who gets the "extra" baby, they are still allowed to do so.

:: RP Rules ::
1 ~ If you feel the need to actually RP mating, DO NOT DO IT ON GAIA. This violates the TOS since it would most likely be over PG-13. If you like, you may RP up to that point and then "fade away" and do the rest somewhere else.

:: Special! ::
So, I said up there that there are "normally" two to four babies, right..? Well, there's a way to receive up to six babies, if you're willing to do a bit of work! How, you ask...?

The answer is RP! The more you RP, the more possibilities there are for more babies. Here's how it works...

When you submit a breeding form, if you include five documented and finished RPs, you will get one extra baby over whatever is rolled by the dice. This means you could get up to five! Documented means that you need to quote thread RP in a journal, or RP in the guild, or something like that ... just be able to post a link to the RP and be sure it's finished!

Also, if you submit a total of ten documented and finished RPs, you will get two extra babies over whatever the roll is. Which means you could get up to six! Exciting, huh?

Example 1 ~ Pony A and Pony B are breeding and have submitted 5 RP logs. Dice is rolled... and the dice say they get 3 babies! So ... since there are 5 logs, they will actually get 4 babies.

Example 2 ~ Pony C and Pony D are breeding and have submitted 10 RP logs! Dice is rolled... and the dice actually say 4 babies! But since there are 10 RP logs, 2 extras are added...which means they get 6!

For long RP logs, you could always split it up at logical places when you submit it in order to say that it's 2-3-5 "finished" RPs. A finished RP needs to be at least 5-6 posts per person.

For OOC RP, if you want that to count, it needs to be at least 10-15 posts long. And preferably, each post should be at least a sentence or two, no matter if you do it OOC or IC

If you're on this list, it basically means you're awesome! You've done something good for the shop, or been really helpful, or the owners have decided to let everyone know that you're a cool person :3

:: Grey List ::
Being on this list means you've probably broken a rule or not listened to the staff when they told to do or not do something, etc. People on the grey list may not get any new ponies, but will still be allowed to hang out in the thread, chat, RP, and so on. Most of the time, people will be told that they are greylisted for a specific amount of time (i.e. one week, two weeks, etc) and so long as they don't make an issue of this and behave themselves, they will be off the list again once their time is up. If they continue doing whatever they did to get on here, though, or cause drama, there is the possibility of having more time added on, or being moved to the Black List.

:: Black List ::
If you're on this list, you may never buy a pet from the shop again, though any pets you own will not be taken away, unless you specify that you want them to go to certain people. You will also usually be banned from the thread, meaning that if we see you posting after you have been blacklisted, a forum moderator will be contacted.
