Welcome to the Land of Lunarium, a place filled with many wonders and many a strange creature. Please enjoy your stay, feel free to look around and ask questions, meet some of the common folk and enjoy yourself. Q: What are Wordsmith Amulets?
A: They were prizes given out for one of our first writing prompt contests. They can be either given to a creature to wear or traded in for a discount on a sale, custom, or breeding.

Q: How many stages does each pet go through?
A: There are five possible stages, however a character must go above and beyond to develop their personality and gain renown to achieve them all.

Q: Can you provide feedback for written entries such as writing prompts or application forms?
A: Sure! Just PM Amandelie with any specific questions or if you would just like a quick read through.

Q: How many pets/characters am I allowed to own?
A: You may own as many as you want. However they may wish to become more independent from you at some point and become guardians of their own, which is fine. They may also own as many as they want, but must wait until they are Scions or older to become guardians

Q: How long does it take for a pet/character to grow?
A: It depends on how much personal growth the character has achieved, and also through some passing of time. Also, some will grow faster or slower than others naturally due to their species/qualities.

Q: Can two of my characters share a journal?
A: Yes, just make sure that there is enough space/information dedicated to both of them more or less evenly.

Q: Is co-owning allowed?
A: Yes, but only between non Lunarium citizen guardians ((two gaia users)) or two Lunarium characters. For example, Amandelie and Trisscar_Cj may co-own a character(s) but Amandelie and Alice may not, while Alice and Seth could. <3 mwuaha~

Q: What happens if I can no longer look after my pets or am unable to return to Gaia due to real life obligations?
A: We will never rehome any pets/characters here. If you know that you are leaving and before you do so wish to give guardianship over your pet(s) to another person, you may post so in the thread or contact Amandelie via PM. (please make sure that person is alright with taking them also, and discuss what boundaries if any will be placed on their character development/personality) For those that have disappeared without word of returning, we hope the best for you and your pets will still be here unchanged when you return.

Q: What if I am going on vacation/have finals/going on hiatus for a semi-definite amount of time?
A: Please let us know! Your pet(s) will not be grown while you are away but it will help to make others aware who is available for roleplay & play dates.

In the beginning, Alice had imaginary friends, as all young children do. However Alice was a bit different from the others. Alice did not take her imaginary friends on long car rides or trips to the library. She did not save them a seat at dinner because they did not attend. No. Alice kept her imaginary friends for when they could be at their strongest and most pure. Alice kept them for her dreams.

At first, there were only two, a brother-sister pair. The eldest was a kind, gentle, bright-eyed adventurer who would always show Alice the hidden paths and secret coves. Macha was strong, brave, and compassionate, and she would come along on adventures to keep Alice safe from harm. The trio would journey through the world of Alice’s dreams, exploring the land and meeting creatures of every kind. It was a happy time.

But not every night could hold sweet dreams. One night, Alice sat cowing in terror as she was immersed in a nightmare. Macha saved her. The bright warrior appeared and fought off Alice’s terrors, sweeping the girl away to safety. That night, Macha promised to always protect Alice from nightmares, and she did.

Macha dutifully kept the nightmares at bay while her brother took Alice on wonderful adventures. Sometimes Macha would join them, but her work often called her away. However, every so often a nightmare would grow in such strength that it would get past Macha’s defenses and terrorize poor Alice, but every time Macha would come in, whisking her away to a happier place.

But as with all things, time moved on and Alice grew older. As years past, Macha grew in strength, never letting a nightmare pass on its way to Alice’s dreams. Sadly, this meant that Macha was constantly working and she could never join her brother as he took Alice on their adventures. Alice grew older, she began to imagine more friends for herself, and her world of dreams grew, but Macha was not part of it. As much as Macha hated to see Alice in pain, she loved the girl and cherished those few and quick moments together as Macha saved her. But now Macha was alone, and like a dream a few hours after waking, she was beginning to fade.

Macha craved for the dreams when she and Alice would spend the entire night together exploring the realms. During those dreams, she felt strong and happy, and that was all gone. Now, the only time Macha had with Alice was when the girl was deep within nightmare and since Alice wasn’t having them anymore, there was no need for Macha. That was something she couldn’t handle. Macha wanted to stay, she wanted to feel strong and happy again, she wanted Alice back from her brother who she believed stole Alice from her.

Macha began to retaliate. She started small. She let through an old nightmare of Alice’s, one about thunderstorms. Macha watched as Alice experienced the nightmare, the storm growing worse along with Alice’s fear. However, just when Macha was going to step forward, Alice stood up, facing the storm and defeating it. The skies cleared, the sun shown and a rainbow burned Macha’s eyes. Macha retreated, broken and distraught, back to the shadows of nightmares, to fade away, hoping she would at least stay alive in memory.

Some time not so long ago, a young girl with red hair and piercing green eyes woke up and found herself alone...in a strange yet familiar place. Her shoes were missing, and she had acquired some strange objects. Feeling the urgent need to protect them for unapparent reasons they remained in the girl's backpack while she wandered the land.

One day this young girl came across several new and quite odd personalities, whom she decided to entrust with the objects she had gathered. They now had a name, Relics, and each held a different sort of feeling, an intriguing Aura.

These people she had met in the forest, the Guardians, held tight to their new found friends. Some time later they grew, no one could really believe what they were seeing was not an Illusion. The younglings were now capable of running free to explore, make friends, torment their Guardian or even the world. The possibilities were endless, and even more doors opened for new friendships and surprises when new Relics had been found.

As even more time passed, the young girl had started to grow, as did many others. Some remained here in the mainland, Lunarium, while others ventured off to explore and perhaps never return again. Nowadays the Riddlegrass Fields are filled with younglings and their elder siblings and Guardians.

Also frequently visited is The Guild, where many look through old books, write journals of their own to be recorded in history, as well as checking mailboxes or exploring the expanse of gardens and dungeons.

For the most part life seems peaceful, at times almost utopian...however there are few that have darkness stored away in them or are developing a knack for being a prankster. Perhaps the land is lucky to have so many pure souls to quell any possible rebellions, however it is unknown what sorts of talents they may posses...

Guardians These are the strange folk that wander through here time to time. They have happened upon a character or few and bonded to them and act as their caretaker, friend, or in some cases fearful and loyal servant.

Citizens of Lunarium Ah, to be a Lunarian..there really is no way to classify them as a whole I suppose. For the most part they begin as a small object before growing into a small child...or creature, or activist.

Here are some of the known variations of Lunarium Citizens:
• Humanoid
Human, 'normal' -but by no means boring- dark to pale skin tones with ranges earthen tones such as peach, brown, tan, olive, ect. Short to tall height ranges, wide variety of hair and eye colors. Penchant for magical talents is medium.

• Half breeds It is quite common for humans to have Elven blood in their ancestry. This may be denoted by very slightly pointed ears, fairer or color tinted skin. Elven ancestry will increase magical abilities and talents, or simply make the power a more complex variety.
• Beast breeds Uncommon variations of humanoids may include creatures with horns resembling a yak or a ram. However they are varied and seldom seen.


• Elven
Skin tones of blue, purple, and grey, also rarely green. Range from deep shades to very light which is more common. Their ear shape is noticeably pointed and some may be winged. Heavily inclined towards magical talents.

• Elven Seraphs A rare variety of winged Elven that possess two to three sets of wings. This pattern is common in Elven twins, however it is very common that the wings will all be the same color.

• Drow A semi-common variety of non winged Elven. Their skin is notably darker or richer toned, and their eyes are often glowing or completely red. They have a high penchant for dark magic, however they are not bound to it.


• Felidae
Fur colors of natural tones, most common are brown, tan, black and white. Small pointed ears with long tails, fur length varies from short to hairy. Often have markings such as spots, boots, or stripes. Eyes are bright with pupils that are often small slits. Ability to gain knowledge of magic is currently unknown.

• Sanguine Felidae Extremely rare variation of Felidae that allow the fur color to occur as an unnatural hue outside of the earth tones. Magic must run through their veins strongly to accommodate such an anomaly.


• Pandarin
Fur tones of shades of gray, with much contrast between dark and light in select areas. Small round ears and tail, large markings around eyes. Ability to gain knowledge of magic is currently unknown.

• Red Pandarin A variety that is uncommon, they have more of a burnt rust color of fur, with white and black markings or stripes. Their tails are extremely long and fuzzy and their ears are more pointed than a common Pandarin.

• Lepidoptera
Skin tones from nearly any color of plant or shrubbery, most commonly light green. Slim figures that are easily supported by their often tiny semi-transparent wings once they grow to the Scion state. Antennae on the top or back of the head, not always noticeable. Ability to gain magic is slight, most abilities will be small helpful traits.

• Ichthyic
Skin tones of cool colors, most commonly blues and greens. May have a number of features such as gills, fins, tails, and scales. They can breathe underwater and are talented swimmers. Ability to gain knowledge of magic is currently unknown.

• Avian first discovered by Pidgie and Seth
Bird like humanoid breed. Largely feathered arms (The hands are always left unfeathered) and bird talons instead of human feet. Hair, skin, eyes usually follow the color of their feathers or bird breed. They are able to fly starting at the Illusion stage.

• Sparrow A brown sparrow mix (Such as Becky) would most likely have dark skin, dark hair and dark eyes.
• Dove This mix would be light haired, like skinned and have light eyes. The opposite applies to a Crow or Raven mix.
• More notes on Avians The only exception to this rule is if the color of the bird varies with gender. Take the differences of the female and male Northern Cardinal. The male has the red and black feathers while the female is a dull red-brown shade. Height and wing span also matter. If you have a bald eagle or hawk mix they well have longer, larger and thicker feathers and larger taloned feet. The larger the bird, the taller and lengthy the Avian mix will be.

Familiars As far as is known these are creatures that bind themselves to Lunarium Citizens as their companion or daemon. More research is currently being undertaken.

Relic you have found a curious object...somewhere..maybe a little girl gave it to you, maybe it was laying on the ground, or simply fell out of the sky as you were walking. Your relic must be guarded for at least a week before something magical and possibly deadly can happen. Don't mind the strange aura, glows, and sparkles that may emanate from your relic, we assure you it's not radiation!

Illusion after hanging on to a strange object for quite some time and wandering around on your daily errands with it, you will notice that it doesn't feel as heavy as it once was...there also may be a small child following you around, in fact they vaguely remind you of the feeling you had when holding the object. They may make a good friend or ally someday so you should get to know them and see if you can find more friends as well. You never know what may happen in these troubling times. When interacting with others, they are very curious and playful. Be sure to introduce them to others of their age and also those who are older and wiser, perhaps even good influences.

Scion you and your young friend have become close, but they are growing up, and up. They are taller and wiser and may have acquired some new and fascinating traits and abilities. The time may come when you must let them walk their own path and discover their talents. You should make sure that they are finding a purpose in life, or else they will be stuck in this angst filled stage forever. If they have found true friends that have also been born of relics at this point, it may be possible to form new relics and also encounter interesting situations using their abilities, if they have any.

Illuminated the wise and the brave will achieve a state of enlightenment that may make them seem like heroes, however they still need to determine what path they will walk down...will they be noble and just? Or deathly and corrupt? This stage is far off, once they have mastered any given elements they have discovered, gained allies and enemies as well as explored the world.

Champion only the true heroes will step up to either save or destroy the world...no one knows if we will ever bear witness or live to tell the tale. *Champions can be obtained through rare event only

And so the First Year passed, the Relics grew into Illusions and the Illusions grew into Scions. More Relics came into being and grew into their own unique forms as well. The Land of Lunarium was a peaceful place, fair weather, warm climate, many friends and kind acquaintances all around. The children grew together and played together, formed strong bonds and found interests to pursue. All dreams were possible, the handy ones became tinkerers and craftsmen who made objects both beautiful and intriguing. The ever curious explored the land and dreamed of roaming the mighty waters of the sea. The quiet and thoughtful took long walks along the beach and found plenty of nooks in the guild to read a good book. The pranksters always found plenty of places to cause trouble and plot small pranks. The patient and nurturing cared for the guild gardens or younger siblings just learning about the world themselves. Almost everyone went about their way day to day enjoying the world and beings around them.


Some may have been lost along the way, taken a left turn at the wrong tree and headed into unknown territory. Some persevered and found their way back, after all, our land is very small and little is known - or perhaps remembered - about what lays beyond the borders we know. Everyone has a home here always though, whether it be within the guild halls, a burrow, an old workshop, or a house they have found or made themselves.


For many months Lunarium showed as a safe and friendly place to stay. However, premonitions, and now even proof have shown that this is not so. Dangerous creatures and beings lurk in the shadows. Our own kind - the familiar faces we see day to day - may not be who we think they are. Suspicions we've had about certain personalities may be more than just a hunch. Is despair in store for the Second Year now that it is upon us?


We are all now faced with many choices...someone, or something, has created a collection of powerful magic enchantments and curses. These binding spells are already active in our land, and there is no way to remove them without the holder of an object being affected by it. Some objects have complex enchantments that may possibly be beneficial, however they are not distinguishable from the ones that are heavily cursed. Any effects from a being grasping one of these objects are permanent, after the object itself will deactivate. The charms are crafted so intricately that once a being picks up one of these objects...they will not be able to touch another.


There are a total of thirty-three objects with either an enchantment or a curse contained within them.

Quester hops up onto a podium and clears his small orange dragonoid throat, "Mmmhph, ahem, ah yes, greetings,"his voice is sharp and matter of fact, "I have managed to find a rather obscure encyclopedia on a frighteningly high shelf in the library on the sorts of charms placed on these orbs, or rather the objects that have appeared around Lunarium."


He nuzzles open a large volume and begins reciting,"Type XI - Complex Charms for Permanent Enchantments - Highly Advanced Arcane Penchants Only...hmmm let's see here where does it describe the ever to intriguing side effects that I'm of course immune to.." he looks up at you, "Oh, right, my condolences for your possibly unwelcome side effects."


Sensing the growing concern and desperate want to know what this is all about the small dragon finally turns back to the page to recite.


"Infinite Form Crystaline Surface Enchantment - this charm is to be placed upon any reflective surface such as a mirror or fragment of crystal or anything particularly shiny.. upon the finding of it..catching the reflection of ones own self will show the viewer a glimpse of their future - and perhaps most desired - self.. It will become imminent that the viewer will grow into this version of themselves if they manage to pull their gaze away. Such growth will be accelerated, before they know it, the next regular reflective surface they appear into will show them fully aged and perhaps at their finest."


Quester gives a low purr, "Well, I don't think that could be too bad...now if only I could see myself as a ginormous fire breathing beast and take over the...er, oh, you don't think I'm serious do you? I'm quite satisfied with my size thank you, and I sincerely am not interested in world domination."


He shakes his head mock disappointingly then turns the page, "Ethereal Elder Sage Grip - This charm is often placed on a small inconspicuous object, sometimes coming from nature, or something made from a natural material. Once this object is in the grasp of whomever it may be found by, they will fall into a vision, appearing to be unconscious to those around them. They will appear into a dream world, or whatever sort of calming place they are inclined towards. However they will be lost, and will run in frustration until they find the piece of their spirit that has been missing. This spirit will appear in the form of another being, of an animal that is wizened. When the fragment of the spirit is returned to the whole, the animal will bind into their thoughts and take on a physical form visible to all outside of this dream world. The Elder Sage acts as a daemon creature, not only as a pet and companion in times of need and loneliness, but also to provide clarity and better judgement in times that counsel is needed. Once the vision has ended, the creature and its master - or rather other half - may only spend short times apart with minimal discomfort, if they are separated for too long they will both perish. If misfortune falls upon the creature, the master will suffer. If the master passes on then the creature will as well."


Quester looks up with a small toothy grin, "Well I suppose this means that Alice and I aren't bound together by all this hosh posh, because I feel just fine and dandy when I'm away from her...in fact I may prefer it, she is a strange one, I mean..ahem, you didn't hear that from me."


Wagging his tale excitedly he turns to the next page, "This is the last one, and probably the most exciting! I do hope many of the charms are this one, you all are getting a tad too boring for my taste."


He continues reading, "Prismatic Eternal Reversal Rune - To be placed on an everyday object of any quality, easily placed on common objects that are pleasing to the eye and makes one curiously want to carry it. The finder of whatever sort of oddball item that has been chosen will then be devoured by the object itself. (-hmm..well I'm not sure that sounds appetizing to me, but my diet is mostly grains and fruits anyways..-) The object that has contained this being to form itself into a new Relic will return to the original holder with a new Aura, and must be given a new name. All remnants of the previous being such as name and identity are spellbound into locked memories, they will only be accessible while dreaming, and will be at first only faint glimpses if even that far. This "new" Relic is likely to grow into something vastly different than the previous form and will remain this way permanently."


Quester stares unblinkingly back up at you,"Well doesn't that sound ever so amusing? But don't let me be the bringer of bad news, it's Alice who is assuming that everyone will play their part and take one of these cursed and potentially deadly objects. I'm sure she'd be delighted to help you find one that can turn you into a mutation or bring on early old age or a persistent little critter to trip over all the time. Should be exciting, well, I'm off to return this book to the library now, I wont be coming back to see how this turns out." And with that he hops down from his podium, leaving the book behind and scurrying off to the guild.

A roll of the dice could change your life forever, come back later to see if you will meet your fate . . .

Every character will find an enchanted object, and it is ultimately up to their owners to decide what type of object they find. Through a journal post, owners will describe how their character found the object, and what happened as a result.

In order to space out these findings, two or three names will be announced every Sunday. The persons belonging to these names will have one week to post in their journal. The names will be drawn at random, and if the person does not respond by the following Saturday night (10pm CST), they will be placed back into the pot for a shot at another time.

1. Every Sunday, 2-3 characters' names will be announced and they will have until the following Saturday 10pm CST to find their object.

2. When it is your character's turn, post in your journal.
Minimum 5 full sentences, covering details including how they found their object, what it felt like, and what happened.

3. Return to Relic (growth stops at Illuminated, Requires new name and personality) - Prismatic Eternal Reversal Rune - Could be anything.

1. All future growths to Champion will be extremely rare events only. This may be your only chance.
