Don't worry about getting your tonsils removed. I got my adenoids out a few years back and it was fine. They're pretty much the same things as your tonsils but up near your nose and not near your throat. The stuff they gave me knocked me right out and I didn't feel a thing. About a hour after I woke up I was free to go.
