12/2/11: I apologize x1000 for this late update. To make up for it, all pets people tried for before I poofed are free now, non-perma pets have been grown to adults, this next event will be a free breeding event, and there'll be a free raffle for an ascended growth slot.
Also, two new races have been added, harpies and kelpies.
5/12/10: There's a mini-event with a free raffle and a poor man's auction happening on page 2 now.
5/1/10: The grand opening birth stone event is over and you can see the results on page 41.
4/28/10: Growths for the rest of the FS pets are on page 37.
4/27/10: Growths for pets whose owners were active are on page 35.
4/20/10: There is a dice game going on page 2. Previews for the birthstone themed grand opening event starting tomorrow will be up too.
4/8/10: There is a Tektek contest going on page 2.

» Story «

The story is going to delivered a bit differently from other shops. I enjoy comics and this year, one of my resolutions was to practice making them, so the story is in the form of a comic.

If you're not the comic reading type, then I'll sum up the story for you. A rockhound who is bored with his life summons an earth goddess and is stuck with her and her kids. She is soulbound to him like a zOMG! ring, but the kids aren't, so he gets the idea to sell them. She won't let him, so he then decides to give them away to people who pay to be members of the rock collecting club, Rockhound's Anonymous, which turns out better.

There are six different races of rockhounds.

Rock___
The children of Petra alone, they are the most common type of rockhound. Anything can be a rock. Because Petra's parthenogenic, they're all female. They have 5 eyes - 4 on the head and 1 on the back. They tend to have features of rodents, mustelids, and marsupials.

Element: Earth

Stages___
Rock: Lasts a week. Custom art. Lasts around a week. It's a rock. There's not much to say about this stage. Though, the kind of rock may give a hint about what it might become later on.

Rockpup: Lasts a month. Base. Awww, wook at the cute weeul wockpuppeh! They're the young spirits of rocks. Their rocks are visible on their backs. It's still not possible to tell what kind of rockhound they are, yet.

Rockhound: Lasts forever. Base. They're the adult spirits of rocks. Most rocks don't go past this stage. Their rocks are visible on their backs and it's now evident what type they are. They're able to breed now too.

Ascended: Lasts forever. Custom art. Sometimes, the spirits of rocks are able to ascend to a higher plane of existence. Those that accomplish this are known as the ascended. While they tend to exhibit traits from their type, they can essentially appear as whatever they want, whenever they want. All of the gods/goddesses are ascended - even the ones that aren't rocks - but even an ordinary rock can ascend through hard work, being blessed, or the like.

Gemstone___
The children of Petra and Riri, they are earth/light hybrids and one of the rarer types of rockhound. They can be be rocks containing radioactive elements or gemstones. They have 6 eyes - 5 on the head and 1 on the back. They tend to have features of primates - including humans - snakes, cephalapods, and insects.



Rarity: Rare

Element: Earth/Light

Stages___
Rock: Lasts a week. Custom art. Lasts around a week. It's a rock. There's not much to say about this stage. Though, the kind of rock may give a hint about what it might become later on.

The children of Petra and Hugh, they are earth/fire hybrids and an uncommon rockhound. They can be igneous rocks. They tend to have features of ungulates - especially swine - reptiles, and bats. They have 7 eyes - 4 on the head, 1 on each forelimb, and 1 on the back - and have leathery wings.



Rarity: Uncommon

Element: Earth/Fire

Rock: Lasts a week. Custom art. Lasts around a week. It's a rock. There's not much to say about this stage. Though, the kind of rock may give a hint about what it might become later on.

The children of Petra and Herbert, they are earth/air hybrids and an uncommon to rare rockhound. Uncommonly, they can be sand or sandstone. Rarely, they are fulgurites or lechatelierites or even silicates. They have 8 eyes - 5 on the head, 1 on each forelimb, and 1 on the back - and have feathered wings. They tend to have the features of birds.



Rarity: Uncommon

Element: Earth/Air

The children of Petra and Zuzu, they are earth/water hybrids and an uncommon rockhound. They can be sedimentary rocks or less commonly, rocks containing or associated with water, like opals or pearls. They have 9 eyes - 4 on the head, 1 on each limb, and 1 on the back - webbed feet, and an otterlike tail that makes them excellent swimmers. They tend to have features of ungulates - especially horses - and fish.



Rarity: Uncommon

Element: Earth/Water

Stages___
Rock: Lasts a week. Custom art. Lasts around a week. It's a rock. There's not much to say about this stage. Though, the kind of rock may give a hint about what it might become later on.

The children of Petra and Ruru, they are earth/dark hybrids and one of the rare types of rockhound. They are not of this world. They have 11 eyes - 4 on the head, 1 on each limb, 1 on each side of the tail, and 1 on the back. Their tails are used to fool predators and attract prey. They tend to have the features of carnivores, especially canines or felines.

Element: Earth/Dark

Harpy___
Sometimes, because of their air element, sandstone rockhounds have harpies instead of rockpups when they're bred. Harpies received their name, because of their resemblance to the mythical harpies, but unlike those, they're not all female. They're fierce birds-of-prey with beautiful singing voices and their wings have as much dexterity as hands.



Rarity: Available via breeding

Element: Air

Stages___
Egg: Lasts a week. Base.

Hatchling: Lasts a month. Base. They're helpless balls of fluff that are dependent on their families for everything.

Juvenile: Lasts two months. Base. Now that they're older, they can be more independent. They can fly short distances, like a yard, and they're able to take down small prey, like mice or insects.

Harpy: Lasts forever. Base. Adult harpies are the same size as an adult man, around 6 ft. They're also strong enough to lift something as heavy as a horse in their talons. They're able to breed now.

Kelpie___
Sometimes, because of their water element, sedimentary rockhounds have kelpies instead of rockpups when they're bred. Kelpies look mostly like hippocampuses, but their manes are like seaweed and their skin like a seal's.

Stages___
Foal: Lasts a week. Base. They're born in bubbles that protect them until they reach adulthood.

Kelpie: Lasts forever. Base. They're predators who make up for their small size - they're the same size as ponies - by luring prey into traps. They're able to breed now.

» Rock Collecting «

If you want to collect rocks, then you will have to log the rocks you collect in your journal. If you want a journal, then PM Gem Emporium and make the subject something like "journal".

» Breeding «

1. It costs at least 10k Gold to breed. Co-paying is allowed.
   
2. Breeding can occur between any two pets - gender does not matter - who are at least at Rockhound stage.
   
3. The pets being bred can not be owned by the same person.
   
4. Breeding will result in at least two rocks. Rocks will either be the same kind as one of the parents, a conglomerate of the parents, or a metamorphic form of one of the parents if the kind of rock has a metamorphic form.
   
5. You can keep or gift the rocks you get from breeding. You can also hold free games, raffles, contests, etc. to home the rocks. You can not profit from the rocks.

»Setting«

Attic:

The attic is cluttered and terribly dusty, but organized. The boxes are labeled and arranged in alphabetical order. There is no window, so at night time, it's as dark as can be. To get downstairs, the trapdoor must be opened and the ladder descended. It isn't full either, so there is room to have a private conversation, play hide & seek, etc.

2nd Floor:

Petra and I live on the second floor. The first room anyone sees when they go upstairs is my workshop where I cut and polish gemstones. Petra sleeps in an old dog bed in my room.

1st Floor:

I work here. I sit behind the counter and wait on customers. The merchandise is in a glass case in front of me, but if I look down, I can see it all too. There is a lounge with big, comfy chairs in the back where RA meetings are held.

Basement:

Like the attic, it is cluttered, but organized. Unlike it, it is so full, there is no room to do anything.

General RP Rules___

1. In general, this shop follows the the Daisy Code.
   
2. You can have a journal in the guild if you want. If you want an ascended, then you will have to log your RPs in your journal. If you want a journal, then you can start one in the guild's journal subforum.
   
3. The pets have powers. They are all telepaths and have telekinesis limited to moving whatever kind of rock they are with their mind. In addition, different kinds of rockhounds can do different things. In a nutshell, rock=earth, gemstone=light, igneous=fire, sandstone=air, sedimentary=water, and miscellaneous=dark. They can not create anything, though, only manipulate it. You can read more about it in the guild.
   
4. Ascended pets can god-mode. There is still a limit to it and it has to be reasonable.
   
5. If you have any questions about what you can or can not do, then feel free to ask in the thread.

Ascended RP Rules___

1. You can get an ascended by RPing, being active, or in events.
   
2. All ascended have a title. The gods/goddesses titles are "God/Goddess of ___", while everyone else's are "Prince/Princess of ___" with "___" being something like Diamonds, Basalt, or some other kind of rock, gem, or metal. There can only be one prince and princess of each.
   
3. The gods/goddesses can god-mode anything - kill, bless, etc. - within their sphere of influence, so long as whoever's RPing them have the consent of whoever they're RPing with.
   
4. As far as god-moding goes, if the pet you want to god-mode is not within your sphere of influence, then you can not do anything. If you have the Prince of Diamonds and you are trying to god-mode a pet that is a Basalt type, then nothing will happen.
