Because of some of the changes in the shop! And because of some (SUPER SECRET SURPRISES) that Sho and Avy ave concocted for this event as well, we've decided there needs to be a new way to go about having your NEW pets certed, as in, the pets you get from this, and future events.

It's not too complicated.

You simply do the following::

Go to this thread in the guild (it's on the front page of the guild forums) with the link to the image of the pet you've won!
FIll out the claim form!
Post it in the thread!

And we'll get everything certed!

Simple!

This allows us to keep track of who's won what, and also which orbs and pets have not been claimed.

Pets that are not claimed within a week will, I'm afraid, be re-sold. The thread will be locked and moved to 'old threads' you see! But hopefully this will never happen!

This is meant to remove the risk of PM's going missing.

If this confuses anyone, please PM Avy about it! =D <3

Jareth, the ruler of the goblin kingdom (through no fault of his own), had spent a great many years toying with the men and women of the non magical world. He was gifted, you see, with the ability to hear their plea’s, though often he wished that he wasn’t as they really did complain rather a lot, and answer them. The flaw here was that this Jareth wasn’t actually a very nice chap, and was often very selective about which plea’s he actually heard. This sort of behaviour and selective deafness would more often than not cause the mortals he chose to ‘help’ a great deal of consternation and distress rather than any reprieve from their suffering.

For the longest time this little foible of his, his liking for human irritation was put down the fact that there was a very long history of insanity in his family line, and he was more or less allowed to carry on as he wanted. It wasn’t that it went unnoticed but more or less came down to the fact that some of the rulers of the neighbouring kingdoms, for the goblin kingdom was not the only power of the magical world, didn’t want to think too harshly of a man that could quite seriously be losing his mind due to some unfortunate hereditary insanity.

Eventually however, the Seelie and Elven Kings began to grow tired of Jareth’s troublesome ways. Though they had the support of only some of the others, the Queen of the Dryads for example, and the Fairy royal family, they decided something was to be done. There were objectors of course, the Unseelie Emperor thought it a tragedy that such amusing antics should be halted, but he was ignored. Kraw. They eventually took Jareth aside one day to have a little word with him, Kings to King, and the end result was that he was made to see the folly of his ways. Well, the real story isn’t exactly known, but for one reason or another Jareth agreed to stop tormenting the little mortals of the non magical world, and promised that he would use his powers for at least some semblance of good.

This promise was more or less carried out… from that day on Jareth turned his attentions to listening more intently to the woes of man-kind, and noticed that many of then were actually very lonely. This was almost impossible to believe for there were hundreds of them, thousands, hundreds of thousands of them! Probably even more! But regardless… that seemed to be the case! They were lonely, or found themselves lacking in one way or another… this was something he could do something about. Not only did he have the ability to snatch people from the mortal world to the magical, but he could do things the other way too. By turning the spirit of one of the inhabitants of the magical world into a very special crystal, he could then send them up, up and away to the non magical world, and entrust them to the care of the human he had been listening to.

He didn’t always send the most appropriate soul up in his orbs, as in all honestly, Jareth was easily distracted and very much liked bright lights and soft fabrics, but when he was actually paying attention he usually did a pretty good job of matching any given orb to their human guardian in the long run.

So, if you’ve been feeling lonely or just asking for someone to listen and give you that little bit of strength, you never know… you just might find yourself the guardian of an orb…






A Brief explanation of the setting



Into the Labyrinth is set in the magical world that exists alongside the human world. There is no clear defined way to reach the magical world from the human world, but sometimes, just every now and then a gateway opens, especially if Jareth’s gotten particularly distracted again…

The magical world is made up of six main kingdoms, the Elven Kingdom, the Seelie Kingdom, the Unseelie Empire, the Goblin Kingdom, the Naga Kingdom and Fairy Realm. For the majority of the time these kingdoms exist together in relative harmony with the exception of the Unseelie Empire, as on no level do Unseelie Fae and Seelie Fae ever agree on anything.

The Northern Reach, the expanse that stretches north from the Unseelie realm is inhabited by all manner of races that have no real place of their own. For the most part the inhabitants tend to be rather dark and chaotic. Demons, dark races and bodiless spirits roam the dead forests and stark mountains. In the slightly less blighted areas you’ll find other wandering races, Griffins cling to the cliff sides, Harpies and Manticores too, while Unicorns and Pegasus wander through the thin pine woods.

The West Wood, quite understandably to the west is home to a good number of other races, Mujina, Piskies, Tengu among others wander the woods, living in small settlements among the oaks and elms and other larger trees. As you move further south the trees lighten, thinning out into maples and willows to the edges of the Fairy Kingdom and into the southern forests, the home of Dryads and pixies and other woodland races.

The Drow that inhabit this land seem to have no real place of their own, but a small section of the Unseelie Empire was gifted to them in an agreement with the Emperor which they now use as way to moves occasionally out of their usual underground haunt, the Underdark.

The magical world is very different to the human world; the technological level of it is something akin to Medieval Europe, castles, horseback, armour, nobles, gowns and swordplay. The inhabitants do however know something of the human world, as some were raised their by their human guardians, before returning to their real home in the magical world, so they are not all entirely unknowing.

[x]These pets are RP Mandatory once they get past the very early stages, and failure to complete the set requirements will result in the resale of your pet. You will be given one warning before this happens and have two weeks to sort things out. After this I’m sorry but this is in the rules for a reason, we do not want the artists hard work going to waste. Obviously, if you have a reason for absence, just drop us a note and let us know, we’re nice people really and we do honestly get that real life comes first. We also understand that sometimes things like depression and anxiety can get in the way of creativity, if you’re having trouble, again, let us know and we’ll make sure you’re not put under undue pressure. <3

[x] If you do not wish to keep your pet any longer you ARE NOT allowed to sell it to someone else you must PM one of the staff and they will take the pet back and sell it for the shop. There won’t be a refund offered I’m afraid in the case of you simply getting bored with your pet. You can request to hand your pet over to a friend as long as they prove their rp skill, and that there is no gold/money or items involved in the hand over.

[x]No refunds will be given if your pet is taken off you due to inactivity or blacklisting. The only time they will be offered is if you can prove that there is a serious discrepancy in what you ordered and what you actually received.

[x]Please remember the setting of the shop. Its akin to medieval Europe, so no television and mobile phones please <3

[x]You can own as many pets from here as you like, as long as you keep up with the rp requirements to keep them and are not on the black or grey list.

[x]Really… don’t steal the art. It’s just silly as Sho has a very distinctive style and we will catch you out as most of the staff are very active in the breedables forum and on artist websites. So its better in the long run just to not try…

[x]Jareth will claw you with his owley owley talons if you don’t stick to the TOS.

[x]Please try not to take it personally if one persons character takes a dislike to yours. This is rp, and its almost certainly not a prejudice of the player. If you think there really is a problem, pm them and sort it out, please don’t bring it into the thread.

[x]Do not bring real life drama into the thread, or drama from other shops. If you have a problem with a particular person just remember that if you can’t say anything nice its better to say nothing at all.

[x]Always save things to your own servers, we delete things from the Photobucket randomly (otherwise known as when Sho and Avy remember)

[x]We do of course reserve the right to change things in the shop, such as the price, the rp requirements and the way things are ordered. What we won’t ever do is ask you to add to a payment you’ve already made. Once you’ve agreed a price even if we make changes in general it will not apply to that particular agreement, but it will to anything made in the future.

[x]Customs can only be ordered when the Custom slots are marked as open. Nagging the staff will not make these open any faster or in any greater number as we all have lives outside of Gaia, and all do quite a lot here as well… The only way to potentially receive a custom when all the slots are taken or closed is by offering a bribe. These, however, will not always be accepted; just pm mule to find out if the artist is willing.

[x] Please actually talk to people if you're posting, its very rude to ignore a new person, or even a member of the thread who doesn't post that often, we want this to be a polite happy place. There may be rewards for being awesomely friendly.

[x]Don’t you dare be homophobic/sexist/racist or unpleasant to other shop members and staff in any way. We will banhammer you. You are entitled to your likes and dislikes, but being offensive with them will cause trouble.






RolePlay Rules


~ Please post in third person if at all possible

~ Please try and make your posts more than a one or two liners, we know these happen occasionally, but it’s nice if they can be rare.

~ Please stick to the PG13 rule with rp. No sex, no death, nothing that would be deemed unsuitable for young eyes or make people uncomfortable.

~ Please watch your language as much as possible. There are ways to express profanities without actually using them.

~ Don’t be too aggressive in your rp unless it’s an agreed upon plot, we don’t want people feeling uncomfortable.

~ This Don’t God-Mod, Meta-game or Power play. No matter HOW powerful your character is, you are still forbidden to tell another player how their character will react. You can ask them what they think of a particular idea, but they have every right in the world to just tell you they don’t like it.

~ Don’t be offended if someone doesn’t want their character to shack up with yours. Once again, it’s their choice.

~ If the shop staff says it can’t happen, then it can’t. Please accept that.

~ Just because you make some suggestions about your character in an rp, it does not mean, unless they are a custom, that these suggestions will appear on your growing. Please don’t expect hints to always work.

~ Same sex relationships are allowed in this shop just the same as hetero-sexual ones are. Please accept that.

Stage One – The Orb


These are spirits that Jareth has taken from the magical world and transformed into crystal orbs with colourful smoke which he then sends up to the human world into the care of a human guardian for a time.

Orbs have no gender.






Stage Two – The Noble


After a certain amount of time the spirit can no longer be contained in the orb. It is released and takes on its tangible form once again, at a fairly young age, visually in its mid to late teens.

The nobles gender is now defined.






Stage Three – The Courtier


As the young noble spends time with the human they have been placed into the care of, they grow closer to regaining their true form. They move from being nobles, to being Courtiers once again. This is simply an elevation in age of their previous form, bringing them into their mid twenties visually.






Stage Four Special Stage – The Lord or Lady


Owners who show themselves deserving, through a great deal of activity or something that endears them to the owners will have their pet elevated to the final stage.

They will receive a title at this stage, such as “Ornella, The Witch of the West Wood”. “Caspian, The Pirate King” or “Illsaide, The Naga King.” This title will be the players choice, but will have to be okayed by the shop staff.

Pets carried over from the first version of this shop will have the option of being elevated directly to Lord of Lady

Orb Custom

An orb custom lets you raise a pet from its very first stage and gives you a fair amount of influence over how it grows.

You will receive: Orb Stage art, Noble stage art, and Courtier stage art. (The Lord and Lady stage is available if you impress us of course <3)

For each time your pet will advance a stage, you will be able to fill in a growing form which will allow you to pick a number of features for your pets development and request any colour changes you might require.

For the Growing Form, please see the ‘Growing Your Pet’ post.

Single Stage Customs.

With a single stage custom, you get just that, a single stage. This pet will not grow (Unless you are awarded the special stage).
You can pick from Orb (if you really want), Noble or Courtier for your pet as you cannot request that a pet go straight to the Lord or Lady stage.

Info on RL customs

These are dependant on the type of pet you are ordering.

Basic Types:
- Single Stage Custom Price - 50k
- Orb Custom Price - 70k

Rare Types:
- Single Stage Custom Price - 75k
- Orb Custom Price - 95k

Legendary Types:
- Single Stage Custom Price - 100k
- Orb Custom Price - 120k

Create your own:
- Single Stage Custom Price - 150k
- Orb Custom Price - 200k (remember, you get to pick every single feature of the pet)

Mixed Breeds:
This is obviously a combination of two or more of the existing ITL races (Or if you wish one of your own invention)

- Single Stage Custom Price - Price of the rarest Single stage + 50% of the price on top (150% of the rarest breed beign used) + 10k for each individual extra race.
- Orb Custom Price - Price of the rarest Orb price + 50% of the price on top (150% of the rarest breed beign used) +10l for each individual extra race.

How this works is going to take some explaining.

As an example we're going to look at the breeding of an Unseelie/Elf single stage.
You'd take the price of the rarest breed, in this case, Unseelie. (75k)
The you add half the price again (75k/2 = 37,500k)
Add the two together! (75 + 37500 = 110.5k!)
And you have your price!
If you want a third race to be added, say you wanted an unseelie/elf/drow you would simply add another 10k.


Complicated, yes, but it's the only way we could think of making it actually work! xD









Bribes


If all the custom slots are full, the artists may be willing to accept one or two extra orders at an elevated price.

The baseline for bribes in the case of this shop is twice the standard amount of the custom price for the order you are wishing to place, basically, 200%. A 150k Custom would be 300k as a bribe.

Bribes may not be accepted. Please keep that in mind.

They do not even count as a bride, they can happen whenever Sho or Chai or Tristy are willing to take them! So feel free to ask!

Orb Flaffles

Cost of each Orb - 15k

To enter a flaffle you fill in the appropriate form and let us know which of the orbs available you want to enter for.
The entrants will all be assigned a number.
The numbers will be raffled off and the winners will be asked to pay the fee to own the pet.
Afer the event you post your claim in the claim/certing thread in the guild to make sure we cert the right orb to the right person.

Prompt based Noble flatsales

Cost of each Noble - 12k

To enter the prompt based flatsale you will be asked to complete a response to a prompt that will be set at the beginning of the event.
The entries will be judged by the staff and the winner will be asked to pay the fee to own the pet.







Prompt based Courtier flatsales

Cost of each Courtier - 10k

To enter the prompt based flatsale you will be asked to complete a response to a prompt that will be set at the beginning of the event.
The entries will be judged by the staff and the winner will be asked to pay the fee to own the pet.







Auctions

Start price - 15k.
AutoBuy Price - 100k.

To enter an auction you fill out a bidding for and bid against other entrants for the pet that's been offered.
The winner has to pay the final amount they bid.
The highest bid wins.







Raffles

Ticket price - 50g per ticket

As soon as the raffle is opened, you can fill out the form to buy some tickets.
Each ticket has a number, they are sold in order, you do not get to pick your numbers.
At the end of the event the winner is drawn at random by a number roll on thread.

These are creature that have no discernable heritage. Not even Jareth himself knows where they have come from. They were definitely the result of his absolute distraction.
These customs will give you complete creative freedom over your pets and you will be able to mix and match aspects from any race or animal and even technology.

Stages
Baby – A small bundle of joy. Be advised that all babies will look very similar as babies tend to, to some degree. All other stages will be utterly individual.
Child – Aged about 5 – 6 they will now have some of their parents features.
Noble – Aged about 16 – 19 they are now a young adult.
Courtier – Aged around 20+ they are now a fully fledged member of the court.
With, of course, the potential for Lord or Lady to be reached.






Breeding Cost


Cost - 150k for one baby
Special deal - 200k for twins.
Any additional children + 60k to the twin price.

To Order a breeding you need to submit a breeding form, one from each of the owners of the parents and have completed all of the breeding requirements.







Breeding Requirements:

Both parents must be at the Courtier level or above.
They need to have rp’d together in at least 5 separate RP’s. (Of any length)
You need to have paid.







Breeding Rules.

~ Both parties must submit a breeding form to confirm they are both happy with the breeding taking place as you’re not allowed to apply for a breeding without the owner of the other pets concent.

~ You may breed two of your own pet.

~ Couples can be either Homosexual, or Heterosexual.

~ Non consensual sex has no place on Gaia, any implication of it will land you in trouble. We do not want it here. As such, no breeding will ever be allowed to happen due to the act of non consensual sex, no matter how vague the implication is. Accidents may happen, but it has to be caused by a consented act.

~ Remember, just because you’re breeding your pets, cybering is still against the TOS and has no place on gaia, please just be vague and brush over it guys.

Requirements to keep your pet

As long as you’re active and chatty in the main thread, we are not going to be too harsh. All we ask is that:
~ You rp in the guild once a month
~ Update your journal once a month
~ Talk to us in the main thread at least once a month





To Grow your pet


Once you have completed the requirements (see just below) or decided to use gold (see further down this post) its time for you to think about how to grow your pet!

First, check the announcements post to see which artists have growth slots open. (the opening will be announced in the thread as well)

Decide which of the available artists you want to request the growing slot of (It doesn't have to be the same one that has been working on your pet previously)

Submit the Growing Form (end of this post) to Jareth Mule, Not to the artist of your choice, and mention in the thread you have submitted one.

You will hear back from us asap as to whether or not your request was successful, if it was, then you're sorted, and its at this point that you need to send the gold to the Mule as well, if that is how you've chosen to get your growing.

If you have not heard back from us for a couple of days, please politely ask AvynWing to work out whats going on for you!







A couple of things to remember


Not all artists will open their slots each month, so be sure to check before you submit your form.

Not all artists open their slots at the same time during a month, it depends entirely on how busy they are.

You will only be able to request One growth slot per 24 hours. If after 24 hours since your previous request there is another slot, you may claim that as well by submitting another form.

Each growth slot only allows you to grow One pet. This is to make sure our artists are not over worked.

Please don't nag the artists about time. Individual pets such as the ones in this shop take a fairly large amount of work, but if you are kept waiting for a length of time that seems unreasonable to you, please ask AvynWing politely, and she'll talk to the artist for you, to make sure there is no mis-placed irritation on either side.

Requesting the slots is first come first serve, so please understand if someone else gets their request in first, it won't be a personal vendetta of the staff against you, we just have to be fair, and there will always be a next time!

Specific Stage Requirements


From Baby to Child (breeding only)
- To grow you pet from baby to child you will need to complete 2 Rp’s between the parents with the baby(s) involved.

From Child to Noble (breeding only)
- You will need to participate in3 Rp’s between the child and any other pets (its parents included) and have the basic journal set up completed for your pet.

From Orb to Noble
- To grow your pet from orb to Noble you will need to complete either 6 journal posts or 2 guardian Rp’s. (Rp’s involving the human guardian with their orb and either another guardian or another pet) with 2 different owners. If you choose to do the Rp’s, you will need to at least have the journal set up with basic character information.

From Noble to Courtier
- To grow your pet from Noble to Courtier you will need to complete 12 journal posts or 4 rp’s involving your Noble with at least 2 different owners.






The Easy Way


Naturally the way we hope you'll do things here at ITL, is the RP way. But we also know that sometimes you just end up with that pet that no matter how much you love them, you just can't get them to cooperate in journals or RP, so there is an alternate option. But it's not cheap I'm afraid.

Single Stage Growth
Cost - 30k (30,000 gold)

This allows your pet to be moved on a single stage of growth (i.e. Orb -- Noble, Noble -- Courtier) without you completing any of the growth requirements.

You cannot use this option to obtain the Lord or Lady stage. This will be rewarded by staff only for commitment, good rp, or something lovely we think you've done <3

We know this is an expensive offer, and has been changed a lot since we re-worked the shop, but at the end of the day we've simplified the requirements and changed the stages to make the pets easier to rp.

If your pet was a custom bought from the shop, this is where you get to ask the artist you have selected to do some specifics of your choice, what with the pet being a custom and all.
