Jedediah Andrews didn't hate anyone in particular, he just hated everyone. Well, maybe he hated that Archie guy more for not being man enough to take a punch and getting Jed in trouble over it, but it was only a little more. So when Bhan asked him to pick out three former criminals to run one of his experiments on, this blanket hatred for all was why Jed just stuffed his hand willy-nilly into the cabinet containing the ICRS files and yanked out three that felt nice. Whatever.
The first folder he chose was a soft gray and contained pictures of a chubby teenager with no thumbs. Jeez. Depressing, much? Jed traced a scaly finger over the words that accompanied the images, sounding out one of them at random. "Huntington's." Sounded unpleasant. Welp, it was this kid's lucky day, although he probably wouldn't think so.
Next up was a large, bright orange envelope, packed tightly with papers and photos. Jed recognized the logo on one of the sheets as belonging to a juvenile detention facility he had spent two unpleasant months residing in, but instead of a mug shot and a list of misdemeanors, attached to the paper was a picture of a family. Jed supposed the place was into foster care as well as locking up the criminally inclined. A middle-aged couple stared back at him, and between them stood two girls, one obviously related to the pair and one... well, one was a mouse. She had big liquid eyes and looked positively pocket-sized standing next to the other three members of her temporary family. Aw. Bah! Jed slammed the envelope on top of the folder and smooshed it back and forth a couple of times for good measure.
Last, and probably least, was a clear plastic envelope with one of those string and spool doodads to keep it closed. Inside was a picture of a petite redhead with some guy. The girl was cute, if you liked wings. They were smiling. Too bad they wouldn't be staying that way.
Jed looked at the folders stacked on his guardian's desk and nodded. Maybe this experiment would work. Maybe these three wouldn't kick it like the others had. On a whim, he shuffled back over to the file cabinet and flipped through the folders until he found Archie's, neatly adding it to the pile. Heh.
It was time to spoil some Christmases.
(( Since I'm sure this wasn't clear, the paragraphs before the pictures were referencing these kids' former lives on Gaia. Yup, these are the first of the kids from the most convoluted-a** flatsale in ICRS history (plus Archie). Yay!
After this, Jed is heading out to do some Jednapping (with or without extra muscle, your call), and after that, Bhan shoots these doods into space and they come down different oooOOOoooooo
New parents, feel free to use as much of this hastily written intro as you'd like, or none of it at all. Your kid might make it off of Bhan's property with their folder, they might meet up with one or all of the other kids listed here in order to escape, or you might decide none of this malarkey fits in your story and your kid may land on the other side of Gaia. If you want to use Jed, feel free, just don't have him standing there reciting Hamlet or something. He's not the type.
If you want to arrange RPs with the "real" Jed, be warned that I'm really slow. XD
