Hello everyone! Welcome to the thread! This is going to be a shop based on the Natsume Harvest Moon series - don't know what that is? Read on!

Harvest Moon is a farming game series where you can become a farmer, rancher or fisherman along with various other activities like mining, foraging and finding the love of your life! There are festivals, events and of course lots of drama-filled plots!

In this shop you'll be able to create your character, choose a life-path for them and have lots of fun in the quaint island town.

06/01/15 - After a bit of a break, summer officially begins in the shop, and with it, a renewed vigor! Keep an eye out for events!

1. Please read over all of the rules and information that you can. If you have a question, definitely feel free to ask in thread! If it's something that is already explained somewhere, we will direct you to that thread or post - if you have additional questions after reading through, then of course go ahead and post in thread with them! No one is going to be upset even if you ask a question that has an answer posted somewhere - people miss things, and we get that.
2. Be respectful to everyone in this thread. Even if someone is coming off as being rude (which any of our staff will deal with) please allow a staff member to contact whoever it is; don't deal with them directly, even if you think you're being nice and respectfully doing so.
3. If there is an event, please don't complain if you don't win. Don't be mean or spiteful to people that do. If there is any question of fairness etc, then by all means, contact any staff member you'd like to talk about it. Everyone makes mistakes, and we all want everything to go smoothly! If you see that we've made a mistake somewhere we encourage you to point it out! (Nicely of course!)
4. You may only win one character per event. We need to make sure that everyone can handle their RP load before taking on more characters.

The only rules you need to follow are found in The Daisy Code. Please make sure you visit that thread (click the daisy above), look over all of the guidelines they give and sign the pact if you haven't done so already.

I bet you're ready to get your start on Avian Island, aren't you? Lucky for you, you've got a couple of options!




There's several ways that you can win a character here! At the start of each in-shop season (March, June, September, December) we hold an event celebrating the arrival of new villagers to the island! These will feature a random mix of auctions, raffles, RP contests, and referral contests where you'll have your chance at winning your very own character!

We might also host random games and sales for pre-made characters during these events for those who might need a little more direction for planning a character out! You'll find all of these events on Page 2, so keep an eye out for them there.

Once you've won some beautiful character art, head to our guild and check out Quail Questlands where you'll find formatting instructions to craft your character for acceptance! Once two staff members give you their approval, we'll set up your journal and you can start shaping your character's life!




You can also start questing for your own custom character in our guild! Here in the Quail Questlands you'll find formatting instructions and advice on how to make your quest thread. Once you receive two staff approvals, you'll just need to wait until our artists open customs up so you can pick up one of their regular or bribe slots!

Customs will often open up during our seasonal events, and more info will be added here as the next season approaches!

New Resident

Hey, welcome to Avian Island! You're fresh off the boat with your suitcase and ready to start your new life here - no, it's okay, we don't need to know why you came here, nobody here's gonna judge you, not publically anyway. Go ahead and get started with your chosen career and start learning a few skills. Make some friends, while you're at it! You never know what kind of influence they're gonna have on you or how much help they'll give!

Whoa, look at you! You've settled into life here pretty well, haven't you? Got some skills that you're getting pretty good at, made some friends - or acquaintances, at least, if you're deliberately hiding and being a hermit - and you've got a whole lot of potential that you maybe never even realized that you had. Keep at it! Who knows the sort of changes you could cause on Avian Island - and hopefully all for the better!

Town Hero

You're practically a native here by now! Not many of our townspeople can remember what life was like before you came. You're almost a master of your skills and your job, you've made some close friends, and heck you might even have a partner that you're thinking about spending a good chunk of your life with! We're really proud that you chose to call Avian Island home. Here's hoping that you keep sticking around so we can watch all the incredible things that you're doing!

Well well well, look at you! Aren't you the same scrawny little thing that came here on a boat some years back? And now you're the ultimate master in your field on this whole island! Maybe you've got a partner, maybe you've got a few kids, or maybe you devoted yourself utterly to your skills and your career with only a couple of best friends by your side the whole way. Either way we're glad to have you. Heck, we might even erect a statue in your honor! You sure you're not thinking of running for Mayor next term?

Once on Avian Island, a small village lived in harmony. They had never been bothered by anyone, but after several years of peace, the island was invaded by pirates! The pirates had found an old map that indicated treasure was buried on the island long ago. Since people had settled there in their small village, the pirates knew it wouldn't be easy to get the treasure all for themselves. There was also the annoyance of the islands supposedly having some powerful creatures protecting it. These pirates were more clever than most though and disguised themselves as islanders to learn more about the people and their legends. They learned that the two powerful beings were a Goddess and a Harvest King. They knew they wouldn't be able to trick the Goddess since she could see into any ordinary person's heart, but the Harvest King was less in tune with the intentions of human hearts and they knew he could be easily tricked. Since the pirates wanted the treasure, they started intercepting the island's shipments, hoping everyone would leave and also attacking the village in small spurts. The pirate's plan was starting to work and the island was growing less and less prosperous. The soil was bad and the crops were small. The Goddess weakened with every passing day and there wasn't much she could do against the pirates without the help of the Harvest King - she had no idea what had happened to him - he had just disappeared one day. Finally, with the last of her strength, she cast a mist around the island, hoping to deter the pirates from getting more of the shipments so that more people could settle on the island and work the land again. Then she disappeared.

Time always seems to pass at a leisurely pace on a lazy island, and here is no exception! In this shop in-game seasons play out over 3 real world months:

• Spring: March, April, May

In our guild under our Calendar you can see the current season, its real world correlations to in-game days, and even the descriptions and days of our seasonal festivals and events for our characters to enjoy!




Every in-game Sunday our lovely meteorologist Damini Khurana will give us a weather prediction for the next week! She's never been wrong yet, so keep your eyes on this post so you never lose track of when you need to water your crops and put your animals back inside their barns!

Hello everyone, and thank you for tuning into this week's weather forecast! Today is going to be a beautiful sunny spring day! Monday and Tuesday will be a bit cloudy, but not too bad! Wednesday we'll get a bit of rain, so don't forget an umbrella! Thursday and Friday will be very nice indeed! Saturday looks like more rain though unfortunately. It's good for the crops though!

Don't forget about the animal festival this week! You should go even if you're not participating with any animals - there will be lots to do for everyone!
