 "Origin of the Creatures of Alti'uin" You may have heard many a legend, or story, or just facts about the stars in the nighttime sky. Stories that stars were Roman or Greek Gods, that they are long passed loved ones looking down upon us all, or Angels shining their bright light from Heaven...and then you may be like most of us, knowing that they are just plain and simple planets far off in the distance. But let me tell you here, in Alti’uin, the truth about the stars is not just a mere legend or story passed down from generation to generation...it’s every creatures’ way of belief and living...a truth and far from fiction. Every creature worships, what we call, Star Spirits, the same stars you see in the sky at night. Every time a creature was in trouble, these Spirits were called upon for help, and they did a good job at protecting and helping out their followers. Spirits have no form, no name, no color or pattern...they just exist only as Star Spirits. Alti'uin used to be a place of harmony and peace at this time and lasted for over 5000 years, but a misunderstanding between the creatures of Alti'uin, and Humans on the other side of the land, began a war that lasted for almost 200 years. Out of all creatures, wild horses suffered the most, being enslaved for heavy labor and other humanly tasks, which caused many to lose their spirit and die. The Spirits watched in dismay as their beloved followers perished at the hands of the humans. Finally, after 200 years of watching enough suffering, a particular group of Star Spirits did something they had never done before. They fell from the sky, like meteors crashing down to earth. Now on earth, they were forced to take a physical form....a 3 tailed fox creature called an Earth Spirit, and had to make a tough decision. If they used their powers now, they would never be able to go back to being Star Spirits, and their memories of being Spirits, would be gone forever. If they were going to stop this war, there would be no return...physical or mental. Some of the Earth Spirits decided to hide among the creatures, protecting them with strength alone and keeping the story and secret of the Star Spirits, alive. The braver ones, using the last of their powers and accepting memory loss, destroyed all humans that continued to rage war. The other humans, not wanting to repeat the mistakes of the others that were killed, banished themselves into the mountains were they were never seen again, but not before releasing all of the wild horses that they had so wrongfully enslaved. All the Earth Spirits that had used their powers, were now just common animals and given the name of Nekune by their hidden fellow Earth Spirits. This name means “Earth Spirit” in Alti’uin. The Star Spirits, seeing how much the wild horses deserved after the war, transformed them into part bird creatures, giving them features that enhanced their defenses. These new creatures were called Equians, which means “horse bird” in Alti’uin. Since that time, many, many years have passed. The Earth Spirits are still in hiding, and rare is it to see or even befriend one. The Nekunes have populated much of the area, and the Star Spirits are still worshipped every day. And the Equians? They have formed into two different sub-species now. The winged Equians called Haomins, and the non-winged Equians called Koeuma, crossbreds of Haomins and regular horses. Here in Alti'uin, I offer the ability to take a journey throughout the land in search of those missing Earth Spirits...and even in search of Nekunes, Equians, and Koeuma. I, myself, have taken many a journey to find abandoned babies that I can bring back and then send to loving homes...and even breed some of my own and sell the babies to help populate the species. I have even started a showing club where each species can be shown and win prizes based on certain standards and criteria.
