Yeah, I was trying to be optimistic, but...that is more likely. That used to happen a bit out where I lived...though we also had the opposite. I lived out in the country, so people would come out and drop off animals all the time that they just decided that they didn't want anymore. sad
Pretty sure that's how we ended up with approx. seventeen cats wandering to and fro from our back porch, 'cause they certainly weren't ours...but we ended up feeding them anyway,'cause they were practically starving when they showed up. A few learned to hunt...worked for us, less trouble with mice. rofl
We kept 'em around for a while. A couple of the females had litters (one unfortunately was had without our knowledge and the poor things were feral...took me over a month, working every day to get close to them and tame them >.< ), and we tried to find homes for them all. A few just disappeared after time, so, eventually they were all gone again by the time I took off for college.
We had a couple of adorable pups show up at the house a couple years ago. They were starving, so we were going to feed them while making a few calls, then take them to the humane society if nothing turned up. Unfortunately, one of them disappeared in the meantime, but we did take the littler one in. He was adopted in less than a week. XD *had pictures of the odd duo somewhere...*
