Its just part of the game and you cap out at level 8 for the beta but you can still continue to play after that, get money and gear etc etc. Play the PVP if you want.

Kinda sorta.

You do get other weapons like powers and grenades but it is mostly guns, yea. I'm not a huge fan of fps games myself but I'm thoroughly enjoying it so far.
