As day fades and night falls, the edges of reality seem to fray. Twilight has often been called the border of other worlds, where the fae realm brushes against ours, the time-between-times. But for some special people, it is the coming of this time, just between the waking and dreaming, that they have discovered to hold the most fascinating mystery of all.

Strange creatures walk the boarders of dusk and moonrise, some of the friendlier ones have begun to be referred to as ‘the Twilight Guardians’, others simply categorized as ‘Nightmares’. It is said that every mortal has a partner, somewhere out in the silvery edge of the day and night, and that one has only to look…

So, what exactly is a Twilight you may ask? Well, they don’t all look the same, so why would you think that they’d act the same? It really depends on you, after all they bond directly with you. If you fancy cats, then your Twilight will probably purr, while a dog person might find theirs wagging its tail(or tails).

Twilights are not very social creatures among the general species of Earth, and they are a bit shy about bright daylight. The best time to play with your Twilight is from dusk until dawn, and consequently those are the easiest times for stepping from our world to theirs. I recommend that you let your baby Twilight grow up before exploring their misty world, as it can be quite dangerous, but you can visit Wisteria’s Clearing whenever you wish.



However, while they seem to communicate telepathically with one another throughout their lives, it is only after they come into adulthood that this ability extends to their human partner. They can be trained as Twikits, and seem to understand us just fine. The only human they can really communicate with is their bond though, they have no trouble talking to one another regardless of age. This telepathic ability seems come naturally to them, but their range is the same as if they were communicating verbally, though the fully mature Twilights can visit their human partner in their sleep from across the border.

The elemental affinity seems to develop when they grow up as well, which is another part of why it is so highly recommended that you wait for your Twilight to grow before wandering around their world. Much safer with a partner that can talk to you mind-to-mind and has magical powers… not mention that it’s much cooler that way.

A picture of what I suppose is going to end up becoming our Shop Pet. This is a sample of an adult Twilight, her name is Ichimu and she belongs with Zephira738, the artist of our shop.


When ordering your custom Twilight spirit, be sure to be very specific as to what you want. If you leave out information, I will ask you if you have a preference or I will choose at random.

The cost of a Twilight is currently 1500 gold to 2500 gold depending on complexity. Cosplay Twilights start at 3000 gold, and increase in price in regard to the complexity of your design. You can request a non-growing adult Twilight for 1000 gold, but you need to specify this in your order.

If you do want a cosplay character, or desire some special line-art, be sure to ask first. It all depends on what the artist is up to at the moment. Zephira would also like it mentioned that she’s not very good at clothing, so that would take a bit longer than a regular fur-pattern. You will be notified when your pet is ready.

Please note: When you are adopting your Twilight, you may specify if you want it in its adult form. Otherwise, your adopted Twilight will grow up, just as pets that are ‘born’ will. However, you may name your adopted Twilight Guide before he or she hatches, whereas the pets that are born must hatch first.

Yes, Twilights are breedable!

Only male and female pairings are compatible.

The offspring will be a random combination of both parents.

A breeding costs 2000 gold. The cost per additional desired offspring is 500 gold, and you must specify which user gets the baby pet/s. It is up to both owners how the payment is made, you can split the cost however you like as long as the total remains the same. The default number is one, maxim amount of offspring per pairing is five.

Yes, you may give your baby Twilight Guide as a gift to another user. All you need to do is tell me their name, either by PMing me, or indicating it in your post or the trade. Selling your baby to someone else is not allowed without explicit permission from us! Failure to comply with this will result in your being blacklisted immediately!!!

The specified user/s will receive their egg after both pet owners have agreed. After a brief period of time the egg will hatch. At this point, you will be able to name your baby Twilight. Then, the amount of time now depending upon the specific qualities of the pet, the baby will mature into adulthood.

Please Note: While these pets are not role-play required, one of the major perks of roleplaying your pet is that you may request a breeding with your roleplayed partner at any time, whereas non-roleplayed pets will need to wait for a slot to open. Roleplayers will also be given special access to newer lineart, and some lineart may only be open to roleplayed pets.

Q and A

Zephira and I will answer any questions you may have about your Twilights, their world, and this shop. A few of what we have decided to be more-commonly asked questions will be posted up here.

So…how do I get a Twilight?
Well, there are several different ways. The one you’re probably thinking of is ordering your very own personally customized pet. That seems pretty straight-forward to me, if you just look up at the Adopting section. You can also buy them at flatsales, or win them through various events. You can also ask other owners if they’d be willing to sell you one of their pet’s offspring with the shop’s permission. Or you could get one as a present, wouldn’t that be nice?

But I want a Twilight now, and the next flatsale’s not for ages.
If you absolutely cannot wait, PM Zephira738 and ask her if she’d be willing to do one for you. Usually they’ll cost a bit more, as the orders close when she’s busier, but she might be willing to make an acceptation if you ask real nice.

Can I give my friend a Twilight?
Aww, that’s so thoughtful of you! Sure you can, just insert their name instead of yours for the bond when you post your order. However, you may not sell Twilights without the shop’s express permission!. If you do this, you will be blacklisted and the Twilight will magically disappear (meaning, Zephira will remove the wholefile).

Um, blacklisted?
If you break Gaia rules, cause trouble, harass other members/staff members, or try to sell/steal our art, you will be blacklisted. Any and all purchases will be removed with no refund. You will usually get a warning, but if you steal artwork, you will be blacklisted immediately.

I’m really sorry, can I get un-blacklisted?
Maybe. It depends on what you did, and whether or not you’ve caused problems before. If you’re really good, and really sorry, you will be given a probationary-period, during which you get to prove that you’ve reformed. If you’re on the gray list, you can usually regain custody of your Twilight.

Are Twilights roleplay required?
No, they are not. However, just like many other shops, roleplayers get special perks. An example of this is considerably less wait for a breeding, ability to own an additional pet, and there may well be customizations in the future that are only available to our roleplaying members.

…roleplay?
Oh boy.
Well, basically, roleplaying is just what it sounds like. You, as a writer, fill a certain role (a character) and you write their story with a whole bunch of other people who also play a character. You have no control over other people’s characters, but you do interact with them. Roleplaying, by the way, is considered, to us at least, to be a story with more than one author. This means that roleplaying posts are in paragraph form.

Okay, so I get the role-play thing. What’s breeding, and how do I get a slot if I don’t roleplay?
Occasionally, and we’ll be sure to make the announcement visible, the breeding slots will open, and all owners will have an opportunity for twikits of their very own. Breeding requires both a male and a female Twilight, and the consent of both owners (please see lower Adoption section for more details).

How many Twilights can I have?
The current maximum number of pets for one user is four, including offspring. In the future, as the shop expands, you may be permitted to own more, but for now that’s the number. Roleplayers are much loved, and can have up to five pets.

So what if I already have my max, but I want a new one?
You’ve got yours, let someone else have a chance. And no, you cannot disown a Twilight, or sell one of yours. You can sell/give away twikits before they hatch, but you must ask the shop first. If you don’t ask us(or if we said no and you did it anyway), you will get blacklisted and then you’ll have none. And no mules, please, it’s still you.

Can my Twilight be gay?
Yes, he or she may be homosexual if you wish. However, same-sex pairings, just as in real-life, don’t yield offspring. So your Twilight and his or her partner won’t be able to have kits of their own. You can still adopt kits through the regular methods, and then the pair can raise them as their own if you wish, and we can mark that they were adopted in the genealogy record.

Okay, you asked for it (well, most of you, we’ll probably get to the other stuff too so don’t worry) so here it is! Zephira’s cosplay character’s are from the second season of the show Avatar: The Last Airbender. There are five of them, as you can see, but as to which character they pertain to… good luck guessing wink

Just so you know, the Twilight does not need to be named for it’s character, act like it’s character, or basically have anything to do with the show. However, while the only similarity is appearance, Zephira has requested that no one try to create a pairbond between the Sokka-like and Katara-like Twilights… for obvious reasons.




Here they are, if you wanna have a look now. The actual event will begin on Friday, November 16th, at which point you may request your egg. It starts even if neither of us are here, in which case ownership of the cosplay pet will be determined by posting order alone. Each of these pets costs 1,000 gold, and you can buy a maximum of two at this event.

Had another cosplay in mind? Well then, this is the egg you want. Bidding ends on Friday, before the flatsale. If you win, you’ll need to supply the picture you want your cosplay based off, as well as anything you want in the picture (ex: your character is always eating ice cream, so you want an ice cream cone in the image)
