I have a question. How do you make the pets actually change? Do you send the owner a different picture, or is there a way to make them change without interference? I want to start a changing petshop, but I don't know the proper way to get them to change!

One note is all you need to make, Grayflame. We don't camp in this sticky and spamming it isn't going to get anyone to answer any quicker.

To answer your question, you can update the pet by uploading a new file over the old one.

Let's say you have their egg uploaded as pet.gif

To change the egg to a baby, all you need to do is save their baby pet's file as pet.gif and upload it into the same directory to replace the egg image. Since they have the same filename, the egg image will be overwritten with the picture of the baby pet. And then you do the same thing for the other stages.

thanks for the great tips! i've never been very good at shading and design. i just never experimented with photoshop enough i guess. also, i didn't even know you could download brushes! i had fun with that! i hope this is ok. it looks better in the bigger pic but i thought it was a bit big for a post. thank you!

I would just like to add that www.7host.com is a good ASP file hosting site. 1asphost never sent me the confirmation e-mail, so I had to search for another.

And a small suggestion, a guide to making pixelart pets would be very useful, lots of people here have god awful ones, that are shoddily thrown together in paint in 5 minutes. sweatdrop
