"Maybe... if organized crime is your idea of business," Yaxha snorted. Sure there was competition, but he was not the ambitious type. He was happy with the regulars and the occasional lost tourist. And he was in a good position for people passing through. He didn't need much at all to be happy. Maybe Pix was the same way. Even though he had been understandably confused for the majority of the evening (and he might continue to be for a while yet!), at least thinking of the kitchen had made him smile. That was a smile right, not just a smirk?

"Well you don't have to be worried about being cold anymore, that's for sure. I like to keep my place nice and warm." He rubbed at his head, the spiny-looking fringe wobbling around under his fingertips. "I guess tomorrow we'll have to go shopping for you so that basement isn't quite so dismal. It's all well and good to be warm and fed, but it'd be nice if you could be comfortable too."

Organized crime? If it was? It seemed rather odd to Pix that Yaxha would phrase his question like that. He wasn't so addled that he did not realize that there was a difference between a honest businessman, like Yaxha...and the crowd he used to run around with. Actually, Pix was rather intrigued by this change. His tail twitched and Pix closed his eyes so he could try to focus on this serious moment. "I like the idea of not doing crime stuff anymore. I'm tired of the hiding out and the running around." Pix's eyes opened some so he could look at Yaxha through the half open lids. "I don't need you to buy me stuff Yaxha. Just being allowed to sleep in the basement makes me happy. Knowing I don't have to wonder where I'm gunna spend the night, or get something to eat, or even if I'll be warm enough makes me happy. This is enough to make me comfortable. It's a lot more then I've had in the other gangs. The last one I had to sleep outside the door. Sometimes it rained and I really didn't like it at all." He explained with a strange small smile on his lips.

Pix: With the glass handed over to him, he carefully poured his soda into it. He watched and waited for it to cease it's fizzing while listening to Yaxha. What? No fairies? His pink eyes flicked over to Yaxha and he debated how likely it could be that he could just...forget...sometimes. Fey were typically small. Nature made them bite sized for a reason right? At the same time though he worried a bit about getting kicked out for breaking the No Eatable rule. He didn't want to be outside where it was cold. "Fine." He said in a mildly sulky voice....but if he found a unconscious one he wouldn't hesitate to eat it. Unconscious meant it could not talk after all. He had that one ace, and it would probably only work once too.

Pix's tongue flicked out to start drinking the soda from the glass, but it stopped when Yaxha would use that particular phrase of words. 'Everything here is Mine' set off a alarm in Pix. His tongue dangled from his mouth as he eyed Yaxha. he urge to coil and strike returned in just the matter of a heartbeat...but as it seemed Yaxha was having a hard enough time understanding anything about dominance, he struggled to suppress it. For now at least.

"I...don't...know what you mean either." He finally stated. "It seems clear to me. I don't know why you don't understand it. If your the strongest one, you have to make sure everyone in the group knows that. The strongest one is the one who makes certain no one else messes with the group. You weren't in a group..but now it's us...so...one of us is clearly the strong one, and the other is the weak one. I know your the weak one though, so it'll be my job to make sure no one eats you. I don't care about leading or making the decisions. I'm not smart enough for that. I just don't want to be on the bottom anymore."

Yaxha: Of course, if Yaxha knew of Pix' conditions for eating unconscious fae, he would have had to set him straight. After all, if they were inside the bar, chances were fair that they'd end up unconscious too. As it was, though Pix did not sound enthusiastic, the iguana had to take his reply at face value. After all, tiny or not, a paying customer was a paying customer, which was a lot more than he could say about Pix!

He stood his ground when a dangerous glare flared across Pix' features, though the spines running down his back stood on end. For a moment it seemed as if there would be a repeat of before, but then the moment passed. What was it that always got Pix so riled? It should be obvious that everything under this roof was Yaxha's. Explaining it again would be a mistake. Perhaps it had something to do with what the naga was saying about groups. If he considered the two of them a group, then, 'what's mine is yours?' Maybe. What exactly was a group to Pix? 'Groups' seemed to have a stronger connection than usual. Seemed more like 'pack,' or maybe 'gang,' -yeah he could have been in a gang all right- neither of which Yaxha had any desire to be a part of. But Pix seemed almost desperate to establish a rank. Explaining to him that he had yet to be eaten was probably not related to the point Pix was trying to make either.

"It's because we've been talking about two different things. I was talking about business. I think you were talking about, I dunno, pack life or something." If he agreed to this, then helping Pix find a cheap apartment down the street was probably little more than a pipe dream. But if he didn't, well, he knew what would happen. If he didn't agree with Pix at this point, he'd have to really fight back, or call the cops. He'd hate to do either more than he would to comply, at least for now. He sighed. "You know how it was in the kitchen, and we were actually getting along? No drop down drag out fighting. If you can apply this protection stuff to the business too then fine." But wait, if Pix was trying to establish that he wasn't 'on the bottom' and there were only two of them...

XD

Pix: His coils shifted some under him as he watched Yaxha. There seemed to feel like a odd sort of moment that passed and honestly? Pix had no idea what it meant. he tilted his head at Yaxha and resumed licking his soda out of the glass he'd been given. Actually it was sort of fun to flick the ice around in the glass every time his tongue dipped into the liquid. "I thought that business is what packs did?" He offered to Yaxha. His pink eyes moved back towards the kitchen and he found his lips curling upwards into a vague smile. The kitchen had been a little fun he supposed.

"Course I'll protect this place and you." He was rather quick to answer Yaxha. Slipping his tongue back into his mouth he placed his elbow on the counter and rested his chin in his palm. "This is my home now, and I don't want to be outside anymore. It get's so cold out there." He half promised Yaxha with a slightly proud note to his voice.

(I fear for anyone that tries to mess with yaxha. They will have one violent naga to deal with XD )
