Please respect that all of the shop artworks, banners, designs and writing have been created specifically for this shop.

♦ Don't sell your pets, or anyone else's pets for that matter.

♦ No soliciting or advertising.

♦ Roleplaying is not required.
There are exceptions (and exceptions will always be clearly marked as such). But in most cases, you don't have to roleplay unless you want to. You will not be penalized for it, although you would miss out on the fun and the perks!
If you do choose to roleplay, 1) know that you are awesome, and 2) please follow our RP rules and guidelines.

♦ Please be mindful of any additional rules for shop events and activities.
Flatsales, free giveaways, auctions, etc. all come with their own set of rules. Such rules will be posted when we run the event. Stuff like breedings or customs have their own rules as well. And of course, there's the aforementioned RP rules and guidelines.

♦ How many can I own in total?
Under no circumstances is anyone allowed to own more than googol Corleos. Good luck hitting that limit... ;D (In other words, there is no limit.)

♦ I don't want my pet anymore. Can I get a refund, or sell it to someone else?
NO. If you really don't want to keep him/her, you can give him/her away for free. If you don't have anyone to give it to, please contact the shop and we'll find a new owner.

♦ I don't have my own Corleo yet. Can I start RPing one anyway? I definitely plan on getting one!
Sorry, you need to wait till you get your Corleo. Please be patient!

♦ I don't have my own Corleo yet. Can I start RPing a human character for now?
YES! Make sure you read the RP rules and guidelines first, though. Your human character must be a real human, as opposed to a Corleo in his/her human form.

♦ Is co-ownership allowed?
Not at this time. But it will be allowed after we work out the kinks of co-ownership.

♦ Can I work for this shop? I can color/ manage/ etc.!

What Are Corleos?
────────────────────────────────────────────────

♦ Corleos are the dominant species of Sildat. They are as intelligent as humans, and they can even assume a humanoid form at will.

♦ Their main method of communication is Fiyuri, their own spoken language. It is just as complex as any human language out there, and is learnable to humans.

♦ Unlike other feline species, they are omnivores, albeit with a marked preference for meat.

♦ They are called "Children" for they are the descendants of the founders of Rekkadar.

♦ The jewel on their chest is called the core. Every Corleo is born with one. It is a source of mysterious powers. While extremely durable, cores can be damaged. Any damage to the core will mess with the Corleo's psionic abilities until the core regenerates. More on psionics in another post.

♦ There is quite a bit of diversity among the Corleos. Take a look at the different breeds:

♦ Regular ♦

Large, powerful and numerous, the Regulars rule the continent of Sildat. This breed produces psions of all five known shanak: heat, water, electro, sacred and dark. They are common.

♦ Cormini ♦

A Cormini may seem like a cuddly stuffed kitten from distance, but they're not that tiny... okay, they are, but not like a housecat! They pack one hell of a bite, too. This breed produces psions of three elemental shanak: heat, water and electro.

Though outnumbered by the Regulars, the Cormini are common.

What am I?

You are a Corleo.
The fabled city of Rekkadar was built by your kind. Your ancestors filled it with great constructs that defied gravity and laughed at the fiercest of storms. It was built to shelter, to prosper and above all, to last.

Yet today, as you walk through the ancient capital, all that surrounds you are ruins. Moss-covered rubbles beneath your paws... Skeletons of old constructs, overrun by vegetation... Flooded streets that have become rivers.

What happened?

Every Corleo knows the story. The Tainting happened. Necromancy happened. It is said that necromancers all but wiped out the entire race using their dreadful powers. Even the land itself became toxic after being tainted by the dark psionics. With Rekkadar no longer being habitable, the survivors scattered across the continent. Civilization and Knowledge were abandoned -- and forgotten.

Centuries have passed since then. The land has healed; life is flourishing. You are not the only Corleo here at the Fabled City. Others have begun to gather in the ruins of Rekkadar as well, many of them under the leadership of a Corleo called Lord Harbinger. The Harbinger appears to be a benevolent, charismatic figure, yet there is much mystery surrounding him. Can he be trusted? To what kind of a future will he lead the Children? Is prosperity within reach for you and your people once again... and will there be a price to pay?

This time around, Corleos are not the only one with hairless bodies and spider-paws. REAL humans have arrived at the shore south of Rekkadar! The ship that carried them has been destroyed in a storm, and now they are stuck here for good. Stranded, outnumbered and naturally incapable of using psionics, the humans quickly realize that their best bet for survival is to form an alliance with the "were-lions."

Thus begins the strange relationship of the two species. It won't be a smooth ride. For one thing, the humans need to learn Fiyuri, and Corleos English. But perhaps with enough time, friendships can be forged -- if fear and racism don't get the better of them.

Psionic Powers ♦ ♦ ♦

In addition to human transformation, Corleos can manipulate energy and matter in ways that humans cannot. This ability is called s'hayóm in Fiyuri; humans have dubbed it "psionics." Your Corleo can gain levels through roleplaying, which will increase their stats and their psionic proficiency.

Every Corleo psionic skill falls under one of the following five shanak (means "category").


heat (pyrokinesis; includes cryokinesis at higher proficiency)
water (think waterbending, minus the body motion and the healing aspect)
electricity
sacred (aka healing)
dark (aka necromancy)

Each Corleo can use only ONE shanak throughout its entire life. No electro-fire healers allowed! One individual can learn a multitude of different psionic skills, but all of the skills have to be from the same shanak. Your shanak is something you are born with, just like your hair color. You cannot change your shanak just as you cannot change your natural hair color (alas, no shanak dye products exist). Once you've declared the shanak, that Corleo is stuck with it for life!




Stats and Levels ♦ ♦ ♦
────────────────────────────────────────────────

There are three stats that affect your Corleo's psionic performance: power (POW), psionic stamina (STM), range (RNG). The stats affect all shanak, even though the illustrations show heat as an example. (Illustrations are coming soon!)


♦ POW is pretty self-explanatory. How big and bright is your fire?

♦ STM determines how much psionics you can use without having to take a break. For how long can you sustain that flame? Or how many fireballs can you throw before your core gives out?

♦ RNG determines the maximum distance for your skill, and also affects your accuracy. How far can you throw that fireball? And can you actually hit a target that far?


♦ Levels and Stats: Your level represents the sum of the values of all three stats. Your POW + STM + RNG = your level.

For example:

• If you are level 1, that means one of your three stats is 1, and the other two are zero. 1 + 0 + 0 = 1, thus level 1.
  
• If you are level 5, that means your POW + STM + RNG = 5.

A newborn has no psionic skills whatsoever. Levels and stats don't even apply to you until you become a cub.

A cub starts at level 0, but you can now gain levels.

An adult starts at level 2, unless you were at a higher level as a cub.




Increasing Your Level ♦ ♦ ♦
────────────────────────────────────────────────

♦ You can gain levels by roleplaying. Roleplay at least 500 words during a month. To prevent people from gaining levels with a bunch of one-liners, every post that you're counting towards this requirement must be at least 150 words long.

At the end of the month, if you have fulfilled this requirement, go to the level up thread to request a level up. Doing so will add a point to your POW, STM or RNG, whichever one you choose.

♦ Gain levels twice as fast! Diligent roleplaying can speed things up. Roleplay at least the following amount, and the pet will gain two levels at the end of the month!


• Upping to Level 1, 2 or 3: 900+ words a month. At least two of the posts should be from the same RP (this is to discourage people from starting numerous sessions only to abandon them).
  
  
• Upping to Level 4, 5 or 6: 1800+ words a month. At least two of the posts should be from the same RP.
  
  
• Upping to Level 7 and beyond: sorry, no double level-ups from this point on.

♦ Maxing out: The highest value any stat can have is 7. So if you were to max out all stats, you would have 7 POW, 7 STM and 7 RNG. This is not possible, however. Completely maxing out your Corleo would require going up to level 21, but the highest level you can attain is only 12. That means you can only max out ONE stat, and even that may not be possible if you go for a more well-rounded build. Choose your stats wisely!




So what do stats do? ♦ ♦ ♦
────────────────────────────────────────────────

♦ Battle: CoR has an in-depth combat system that takes your stats into account. Stats will play a huge role in battle events.

♦ Dice Rolls: Your stats will affect your dice rolls in certain non-battle events as well. Higher stats give you a boost.

♦ Elder Stage: It is unknown how stats will affect your chances at becoming an elder, but they will definitely play a role. For this reason, we recommend leveling up every pet you roleplay, even if they are not skilled psions IC-ly.

♦ Stats and RPing: Stats would affect your Corleo's psionic abilities IC. Use them as a loose guideline. To give you an idea, a stat value of 2 means average proficiency; 3-4 is above average; 5 and up is expert.

♦ Can you ignore your stats? It's OK to roleplay a high-level pet as a weak psion for IC reasons. Just don't roleplay your pet as being significantly better than what his stats indicate. You get a bit of leeway with this, but not too much. For instance, a pet with 1 RNG should not be roleplayed as an elite sniper-psion (that would require RNG of 3 at the very least, and even that would be stretching it. Preferably 5+).

♦ But but but...! What if you got a new character (naturally at a low level), and you wanted him to be a more experienced psionic for IC reasons? We would recommend doing some solo RP of his backstory to raise his level a bit. Double level-up really helps if you can pull it off!

Stat-Boosting Items ♦ ♦ ♦
────────────────────────────────────────────────

Some events may give out stat-boosting items, such as POW+1. Each of these items add +1 to their eponymous stat; for example, if you give POW +1 to a pet with POW 5, their official POW will be "5+1" and will act like 6. It's possible to break the natural stat ceiling with these items: 7+1, or even 7+5.

When you get a stat boosting item, you can give it to any one of your pets. The effect is permanent. Once given, it cannot be taken away from that pet, so again: choose wisely.

One pet can have up to five of these items. That's five total of all items, not 5 of each item.

You will find many Corleos available during our events. We don't have such events every day, but stick around and it will happen. When it does, the thread title will usually say something about it, e.g. "raffle on pg100!"

♦ ♦ ♦ Free Giveaways
These may take various forms: RP contests, dice/ random number games, etc. The winner takes the prize pet for free.

♦ ♦ ♦ Flatsales
We do both flaffles and speed sales. A flaffle is a raffle that costs nothing to enter; if you win the raffle, though, you will need to pay a small fee to claim your prize. The fee is currently 10k per pet.

In a speed sale, the first person to post the required response will win the pet. What is the required response? That's different for every flatsale.

♦ ♦ ♦ Raffles
These have a set price of 100g per ticket. You may purchase as many raffle tickets as you'd like. At the end of the raffle, we will use Gaia's random number generator to determine the winning tickets. That means the more tickets you buy, the greater your chances of winning! Instructions for ticket purchasing will be posted when we run a raffle.

These are reserved for extra-special specimens. Auctions are typically announced ahead of time, and we always use a snipe guard of some form. Starting bid, minimum bid and autobuy (if available) amounts vary from auction to auction.
