"Quite a while, actually," Sean admitted, chewing his bottom lip a little. "He was there when I first met you, but he had not spoken to me or anything. He spent quite a while just staying silent. I only found out he was there when he tried to give me iron poisoning and put me in the hospital."

He tried to smile a little as he went on. "Yeah, I mean, I'm no more messy than any other guy you'd meet, I guess. Gelezis insists on dusting everything and keeping all my stuff in perfect order, though. I guess I wouldn't mind so much if his cleaning fits didn't sap my energy."

The antiquary watched her pour the liquor, trying not to think about just how long they really had. Or did not have. Would Gelezis still permit him to see her? And how much longer would Sh'khin allow Iris to remain Iris? Her deity seemed nicer than his, at least, he observed with a mixture of relief and jealousy.

Smiling, he took the glass when she handed it to him. "Right, to us, mortals but still people. And to the certainty of at least one more meeting between you and me." He raised his own glass, as well, then threw back a hearty sip of vodka.

"Aww. Wow. I hadn't realized it had been that long... And I'm surprised that he didn't say anything to you until he tried to poison you. What a shitty way of introducing himself." She scowled and thought about what she would say to the god if he decided to come out and talk to her. She didn't think there would be many kind words involved, that was for sure. "I'm sorry you had to go through that... I suppose I've had my own difficult circumstances with Sh'khin, but I never thought he wanted to kill me -- okay, well maybe not. At first I thought that, but he reassured me quickly enough."

She couldn't help but chuckle at his 'messy guy' comment. Most of the guys she knew were pretty messy -- although Finn was rather tidy now that she thought about it. "Maybe he's got OCD or something," she suggested, laughing. "Yeah, I remember when Sh'khin took over my body. It was always really exhausting if he did it for long periods of time..."

She smiled at the toast, and inwardly thought that she hoped she would see him again. Hopefully the small part of her that was left would be protected and cared for, as Sh'khin had told her it would. "Cheers." She tilted the glass back, sputtering a bit after the sharp, burning swallow that ensued. "Ah gin. This is one thing I've missed."

"I showed you the stone in my hand when we first met, remember?" Sean brushed some rubbish aside on the counter to make room to set his glass down on it. Then he tugged off the glove he wore to hide the stone. "Well, maybe you don't remember," he added with a small chuckle. "Both of us had a lot to drink that night."

He held his palm out to show her again for a moment, then shrugged a little. "Gelezis wears us both out, really. Holding onto control of me until he's exhausted, then retreating again to silence, leaving me worn out, too. That's what he's doing now. He's asleep."

Picking up his glass again, the antiquary drained the rest of it, then coughed once. He looked around for a moment at the dingy shelves of bottles, and asked, "Do you see any tonic water around? While we're here getting drunk, I might as well have a gin-ton." He glanced at Iris and grinned, then started to laugh. "We should just keep getting trashed like this every time we meet. Then we'll have to keep getting together so we can remember each other."

Your face will change as much as hers has, and more, Gelezis murmured ominously in the back of Sean's mind. As soon as I am able, I will smudge your memory clean more quickly than any alcohol.

Sean's face fell and he sighed a little. "I should go soon, though, I think."

She chuckled. "I don't remember much about that night actually," she said, a grin on her face. "I do remember having a good time though..." She squeezed his forearm lightly, smiling to herself. She took a look at his hand, the memory of the last time they'd been together coming back to her suddenly. Oh yes, she remembered that. A stone in the hand was hard to forget. Had it really been that long?

"So he only lets go when he's too tired? Man, that's horrible," she frowned, her demeanor changing rapidly as she imagined the god that was living inside him. "I hope you get plenty of time to yourself."

Checking over the bar, she found a half-full bottle of tonic water. "I think we may be in luck," she said as she grabbed it and pulled it over the edge. "I don't know how fizzy it'll be still though. It looks rather old." She twisted the cap and heard nothing. "Still want it? I think I may just go without."

She slammed back the rest of what was left in her glass, making a horrid-looking face after it was done. "Heh. Do you think we'll only remember one another if we're drunk?" She chuckled again. "I hope next time we'll still be able to talk to one another..." she trailed off, not sure she was liking where the conversation was heading.

"Oh? You have to go so soon? Is he waking up?" She looked concerned, wondering what had brought this on so suddenly. They'd barely had a drink. "I understand. It's okay if you have to go."
