Welcome to the Faekat Clearing!

News
I simply must stress this out once again, regarding babies. Baby faeanimals cannot flirt, cannot talk of marriage even in a joking manner, they cannot think of another baby as being an 'opposite sex', they simply see the baby as another baby. Any baby caught trying to romance another baby, claim they are in love with a baby, talk marriage as a baby will simply be banned. Babies are just that, people. Little tiny babies. They can talk but they cannot talk intelligently. Imagine a two year old child irl. That's about what you get with a faeanimal baby. Thank you.

Greetings my fellow pet owners and wandering faekats. You've found the perfect place to call home. This is the new Faekat Clearing and will sport a few extra things. Don't groan just yet, they aren't all bad. *wink* There will be stricter rules that could result in stricter punishment but sometimes that is a necessity to get things moving smoothly. Truth is, a lot of people have been breaking rules set on day one and roleplaying faekats differently than they are meant to be roleplayed. So this thread is an attempt to put things back on the right track.

Another thing that this thread will sport is individual information on the faekat related races. The information will be spread on the first two pages of this thread. It will have information on gods, demi-gods, vampires and perhaps some new species or races soon. I'm hoping for a smoother, more informative roleplay thread. ^-^

So take a few moments to read the information here and then we can start the roleplaying!

2. Roleplay Rules

This is a very important section so please read the rules before you start roleplaying. So many have been broken in the past. The roleplay management will start enforcing these rules so I must stress the importance of following them.

Rules

1. Please keep your signature sizes at 500 x 500. We respect Gaia rules here. Not to mention it just makes reading threads easier.
2. Do not advertise for mates. (This means putting in your signature or within the thread a request to contact you in order to mate with one of your faekats.)
3. Do not put that your faekat is bi or gay or straight in your signature. That is advertising for a faekat of a specific sexual orientation. This does not have to be announced.
4. Babies do not flirt. Babies do not have crushes. Babies cannot plan future mates. Anyone that tries to find a future mate for a baby will be warned. Let them be babies.
5. Teens cannot fall in love.
6. Teens cannot do sexual things. They do not even make out. The most a teen can do is kiss on the the cheek.
7. No heavy flirting in the threads. This means actions that may not be sexual per se but are detailed enough that it would make younger roleplayers feel awkward or embarassed.
8. Just because a faekat approaches yours, it does not mean they must have flirting or mating on their mind. You can actually roleplay and it not have to do with romance.
9. No cybering in the threads.
10. No implying sex has taken place. No, putting "censored" does not work. Those around you do not need to know your faekat 'scored', or had 'sex'. They can assume that happened when your faekat becomes pregnant or has children.
11. You cannot sell your babies. You cannot trade your babies. If you don't want to keep your babies, then don't breed.
12. You cannot sell your pets unless faekat management says it's alright. Even then, you cannot sell the pet for a profit. You can only sell it for the same price you had purchased it for.
13. Cussing is allowed in roleplay form.
14. Cussing is not allowed if used on personal levels. (As in cussing out of character)
15. No trolling.
16. No harassment/haranguing/insulting of owners.
17. No Godmoding. When you affect another person's pet without asking their permission or making them aware it is going to take place, it is indeed godmoding. Ask first, Act later.
18. No advertising other pets or roleplays within this thread.
19. No advertising of auctions or other links on gaia within this thread.
20. Respect the roleplay managers. If you are asked to tone something down, follow a rule or otherwise advised to change the course of roleplay, don't fight it. If you think one roleplay manager is being unfair, feel free to ask another.
21. Adults cannot become interested in finding a mate unless they have been an adult for at least two weeks. This is an old rule that has been broken numerous times. Faekats do not jump instantly to finding mates. They must GET TO KNOW each other first.
22. Do not give your faekat abilities that he or she should not have.
23. Do not try to insinuate or otherwise guilt or force someone into mating with your faekat.
24. Do not demand babies. If a couple can have two babies, one should go to each parent. If a couple can only have one child, it should be co-owned.
25. Co-owned babies must develop a personality that both parents are acceptable with. No one parent can dominate the child's roleplay.
26. No bumping the thread. Roleplays do not need interrupted with bumps.
27. Faekats cannot die unless both Saranah and Bane agree on it. So no matter what, a faekat (unless stated otherwise) will heal themselves. They have amazing regenerative abilities.
28. Please do not make up faekat places. The only places that exist are already on the map or authorized by the Roleplay Management.

**Please see the Duel/Battles section for rules regarding that topic.

Roleplay Events

Sometimes, events happen in the Faekat world that the Faekats can't miss. Perhaps a dragon has landed and made a nest of the courtyard. What are the Faekats to do? Or what happens when the vampires try to take over?

This section will announce these events. They will happen sporadically, and last either until the GM (Game Master) feels it is over or until the Faekats deal with it properly.

These RP events are here to spice up the courtyard and make things fun for all. Your Kats do not have to participate, but just beware that bad things can happen to our little hovel if not dealt with.

Any GM text will be in bold red text

Current RP Event: none

Past RP Event: Farsworth Hufflesnuff, a very strange Faekat gentleman with small green leathery wings, had asked a group of Faekats for two things.

He desires to build a school. But to do that, he needs those two things: teachers and money.

For the teachers, he's asked to spread the news that he is looking for some. If you are a Faekat that can teach any subject, he has posted a strange message in the Faekat Newspaper.

"Contact Hufflesnuff. Say my name three times and state your business."

Any Faekats who wish to become a teacher should PM me (Achan). Though the event is over, you may feel free to still PM me. I will work on dealing with the school in the near future. 3nodding Don't worry if I haven't responded to you yet.

The other problem with building the school was the money issues. Farsworth told the crew that they could obtain a rare green gem and bring it back to him.

After surviving a strange dungeon and some weird creatures, the group encountered a huge green dragon who had the gem! .... but it turned out to be Farsworth himself, using runes to make it seem like he was stronger and more impressive than he really was. sweatdrop The Faekats have passed the test and the school shall be built soon!

Submitting your Own RP Events
Would you like to submit your own event idea? Please PM Achan with the following form:

Date you'd like to start (and end):
Describe the event:
How will this affect the Courtyard?:
Describe any NPCs you'll be using:

Achan will then go over the idea submission with Meeki, and will get back to you on if it's okay'd or not. If your idea is accepted, then off you go!
5. Duel/Battle rules

Sometimes, Faekats will get into big nasty fights. >.< They will scratch and bite and just be in pain. These rules will be enforced if your Kat ever gets into a scuffle.

ktqueen, Jo_Devins, and Achan are working on duel rules that coincide with the Faekat Battle Arena. When a Kat gets into a respectable duel with another Kat, the Battle Arena will be called upon for assistance. These rules will be posted as soon as possible.

Sometimes, a Kat just doesn't want to be respectable. Baddies are a good example of this. If a duel is not called, and they just into a fight, please remember the following rules.

1. Do not godmode. This is the main problem that we see when it comes to fights and RPing in general. If your Kat is going to tear out the other Kat's heart, it'd be nice to ask the player first.

2. Know that there are limitations to Faekats' powers and strengths. No Kat is uberly powerful. No Kat, unless it's a SE Jedi, has cool nifty light sabers that it pulls out of nowhere. Be sure to read up on your Faekats' special abilities and know which powers you have, which powers you don't have. And don't just say that your Kat blocks or dodges every attack.

3. "Invincibility". Faekats have amazing regenerative abilities. After their fights, their wounds will heal, no matter how bad they are off. HOWEVER, this does not mean that your Kat should be feeling cocky. Saranah (goddess of life) and Bane (god of death) are watching, and any one Kat who abuses this power can have this ability turned off. Let's not get into too many fights, shall we? The only major thing a Kat can die from is heartbreak.

8. Roleplayer Spotlight

In this section, I will randomly interview roleplayers so that you can get to know more about the person behind the pets! This will be completely random and is not a contest. Don't come to me, I'll come to you!
9. Contests

Every once in awhile, the Courtyard will be having little contests that players can enter. Perhaps a roleplay map needs to be made, or a special event is just dying to be discovered!

Contests and their prizes will be announced here.
10. Faekat RPer of the Month

Each month, the Roleplay Staff will be on the lookout for an amazing Faekat roleplayer. He or she will display excellent roleplaying skills while following all the rules that take place.

If you have someone you wish to nominate and have us watch, please PM Achan with the following info:

Player name:
Faekat name(s):
Why you feel they should be nominated:

The Staff will then watch these nominees (as well as their own nominees) and decide from there!

Remember, that this is not designed to be a popularity contest or a big competition. It is just an award for those who roleplay very well.

Prizes will be announced at a later time.

11. Banned List

Sometimes such disrespect or rule breaking is shown that a complete ban or roleplay ban goes into effect for that person. The bans can be both permanent or temporary, depending on the circumstances and situation involved. Those banned will be listed here.

1. Ivy the Cat : Threw a fit and attempted to kill her fae roo pet. For that, the pet was taken away and she no longer has the ability to roleplay it.

13. Main Race Info

There's a few races here at Faetasia Island and this section will offer a little bit of information on them. More information may be added at a later time.

Regular Faekats
Perhaps the cutest and most adorable of the faekat pets are the regulars. They are sweet but mischievous creatures that believe in having fun. They are perhaps the most naive of the races and this makes them easy pickings for other races or perhaps more watched over by other races as well.

Regular faekats can fly and swim. They have limited magic and usually is used in the form of trickery or mischief. They cannot summon big spells or cause a great deal of damage. They are the weakest race but nevertheless the most important. Without them, there would be no magic in the world.

Baddies
These faekats are rude, mean and troublesome. They love picking on the regular faekats and when given a chance, other faekats as well! They will consider doing just about anything to get their way and they don't really believe in order and manners.

Baddies cannot fly but they can swim and run really fast. They have little wings on their head but it's simply not enough to handle their body weight. Baddies have little to no magic but are a lot stronger and faster than the regular faekats. They also have sharp claws and fangs.

Pures
Pures are elegant creatures that are pretty much the opposite of baddies. They love the regulars and tend to protect them and guard them when any baddie seems to pick on them too much. Pures are gentle and loving creatures that are simply incapable of being rude or mean to anyone. They even attempt to stay polite when regarding baddies.

Pures can fly but cannot swim. They tend to avoid water and are often scared of it. They have limited magic but in the form or protection and defensive spells.

Kryenae
Kryenae is a male only race. They are a peaceful and gentle race that likes to avoid trouble. They make wonderful mediators and leaders because of this. They are a bit furrier than most of the other races and more athletic in build.

Kryenae cannot fly but can swim. They can also climb with ease. They have telekenetic abilities so can move things with using their mind. However, they have no magical abilities. Though they cannot fly, they can still use their telekinesis to move themselves for short distances and durations.

Majerae
Majerae are a female race with high magical talents. They are perhaps the most unique looking race because of this. Their eyes lack pupils and their head lacks hair. However, a majerae is a force to be reckoned with. Of all the regular faeakts, her magic is the most powerful and most feared.

Majerae cannot fly at all or swim very well but who needs to when they have magic that can levitate them or cause them to breathe underwater?

Nymphae
The Nymphae are the most sensitive of the races. This is another female only race but different than the Majerae. Nymphae are nature loving and sensual creatures. They are usually flirtatious and charming because of this. That doesn't mean they can or would use their powers for evil because thankfully, Nymphaes are generally sweet souls that just want to be loved and love someone back. They can't always control the sex appeal they seemingly generate.

Nymphae have both head wings and back wings and can fly. They also can swim as well. They are not fond of running or anything else that can be seen as a workout. They are the most feminine of the races. They prefer to just relax and do girly things! They have limited magic but usually it's in the form of cute little girly things, like making stars seem to appear around people. Their magic is more illusion based.

In the future, first generation pets may become clerics and worship one single god. This cannot be changed so they must choose wisely. 15. Demi-God Info

Individual demi-gods will not be listed here. This is just a general information section. Most demi-gods will probably end up with an added ability. This ability will be decided by faekat management and is not allowed to be abused.

Faekat owners that attempt to mate with a demi-god or god just to get a special baby will be warned. The gods and demi-gods are not meant to be used in such a way. In fact, gods and demi-gods will be more inclined on not mating until they are sure they find the right mate.

Gods and Demi-Gods are limited to two children unless otherwise granted. This cannot be changed unless one faekat, Goddess Kerosene, gives them special permission. Demi-god abilities do not work on other demi gods.
