Welcome to Gaia! ::

Riven nodded. "The same with my Guardian - marks on her neck. It used the bond against us... I think it was trying to snap them. The recoil from that..." The spirit Fa'e shuddered. "I think it could do that kind of damage." Such bonds were not entirely in his realm of expertise, but he was able to sense his own Guardian bond; to him, it felt like a thick 'cord' binding him and his Guardian together. "If it broke all of a sudden, or was stretched and snapped back into place like a rubber band?"
"Some kind of magical backlash, perhaps, though I am do knowledgeable of such things..." But it made sense, though. If one wanted to strike at a bunch of powers reborn, you hit the weak point.

The perfect weak point, perhaps, being the mortal beings that anchored them.

"Was there any way Chaos might have slipped though your wards unnoticed ? Do you know ? Any alternate mean of escape ?" They had to figure out what happened, first - then they could try to think up a solution.
"Absolutely no way he could have gotten through," Riven said, perhaps a bit more vehemently than he meant to. "The Barrier was whole and unbroken. I would have sensed even the slightest crack - and Chaos is incapable of healing the Barrier behind it. It cannot heal, by its very nature. Everything it touches is tainted. As for alternates..." The spirit Fa'e sighed heavily. "There were none that I knew of before now... but one must exist. Otherwise it wouldn't be here now."
"Indeed." Riven seemed rather certain, so perhaps some kind of remnant of tact remained to him even now, and he decided to explore the latter option first before bringing the former up again. "Was it still behind, when you looked ? Was Chaos still contained, or was he completely gone ? If he was still there, then... Perhaps it did not so much escape than somehow send some of it's awareness... outward. Which does not tell us where it did so..."
"If Chaos had completely escaped, we would all be dead." That, too, was said with grim confidence.
"...That would be rather counter-productive." The statement could have been considered as some kind of attempt at darker humor, if his tone of voice hadn't been completely flat.

"Then... we need to find wherever it sent it's consciousness out of, and... do something about it." That was rather vague, but he did not know enough about the situation to attempt to elaborate on anything.
"Yes." Riven gave Sei a confused look. He wasn't entirely sure why his young friend persisted in stating the obvious; that combined with his constant strange monotone was starting to worry the spirit Fa'e. "I'm going to go over to the Fa'e HQ as soon as I can, to see if anything's changed. See if I can find an entry point."
((Creepy Sei is creepy, sry. XD))

"I should go see if everyone else is okay." They'll cover more ground by splitting... so to speak. The fact that he was starting to make the spirit fa'e unconfortable did not seem to dawn on him - it likely would, later. "Do you have some way that I can use to contact you quickly if I find anything... ?"
"You can leave a message with Biome... or my Guardian." That had worked well in the past, but Riven abruptly felt that it was insufficient. Sosiqui had been bugging him to get some type of telephone...

"Will you be okay?" he added, quietly.
"I will be fine." He assured the elder fa'e, though there was still no conviction in his voice. "Can I have her number then ? Though... Zero likely knows of it. I am in constant contact with her for now." He tapped the earpiece he wore lightly. "Both so that I can be sure she is well... and that she can help spread out information as needed." His guardian did not like to feel useless, so this was some small comfort for her.
"Uh... hang on a second." Riven quickly ducked through the wall again, then came out a moment later with a slip of paper. "I can never remember numbers... but I'm sure you'll have no problem."
Had he been in his normal state... he would likely have found it amusing. "Thank you. And..." He looked though his pockets for a pen and a scrap of paper, and noted down his own number on it, with Zero's underneath. "Here... I will let you know if I figure anything out."
