Welcome to Gaia! ::

"Who else would it be? ...urgh, my head hurts. I need a cup of tea. Do you want one too?" Neith was waking up more and more by the second, and the strangeness of the situation was catching up with her. She couldn't miss the low tone of her voice, and it wasn't a sore throat. ...maybe she just needed to clear it?

"Ms. Neith. Uh. Have you looked in the mirror today?" Anen asked cautiously. Either his friend's mother was taking the transformation really well, or she wasn't aware of it. He was willing to bet it was the latter.
"I don't think I have." ... But Neith had woken up on the bathroom floor. In front of the mirror. Why was she in front of the mirror? "Why?"

She headed back into her bedroom and looked into another mirror.

"AHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH!"

Outside and up the tree, Elle twitched, hearing a high pitched scream all too clearly.

"Um," Anen said from the doorway. "I need to go tell Elle that there is not actually a stranger in the house. She called me a little while ago," he explained. Some small part of his mind wondered how he was managing to be this calm. Well, someone has to be. "I told her I'd come and check. She's outside."
"Huh? ...yea, yea. Go do that." Neith's vague answer made it clear she... or he... hadn't really heard Anen, he was staring at the front of himself. He made a small whimper, clutching at the flat chest. "My girls! My girls are gooone!"

Anen blinked, decided that he hadn't really heard that, and went to retrace his steps back out to the door. He called up into the tree, "It's okay, Elle. You can come down. Um." He decided to wait until Elle was standing on solid ground to tell her who exactly the "stranger" in the house was.
Elle crawled down carefully, not really sure if she wanted to. What about that scream? "So... why the scream then? Is he tied up or something?"

Neith checked for anyone around... and looked down her dress.

Wow. Now THAT was a new angle.

"Uh, well." Anen ran a hand through his hair. Was there a non-traumatic way to say this? No, not really. "That was your mom's reaction to seeing that she's, um. Changed."
"Changed? ...how changed?" Elle asked, suspicous. There wasn't any way she could even begin to imagine what Anen meant, having being raised around elves, humans and vampires only.

Meanwhile, Neith started to rummage around for manly clothing. The problem was, Neith never wore manly clothing. She loved feminine looks, and old fashioned dresses and corsets. Her wardrobe reflected that...

...and she didn't want to put on pants. Neith had seen 'There's something about Mary'.

"Gender changed," Anen said, and hoped Elle wasn't going to faint. "That was her."
"Don't be stupid, people can't change genders." Elle replied, hoping that she was right. She HAD to be right. People didn't just go 'I want to be this!' and do it!

"Some people shapeshift, right?" Anen pointed out. "What's so different about changing genders from changing forms? Either way, it's just the outside changing." He looked back to the house. "It is weird, though," he admitted.
"...you're serious, arn't you."

Elle flopped onto the grass, rubbing her forehead. The idea seemed too stupid. Her mother was a half-elf. That was all. Elle didn't like the idea of Mom becoming Dad, or her genetics being even more strange and not normal.

She envied humans more and more, so simple. They knew what to expect!

"It's more than weird. I don't want to wake up a guy, just because my Mom can do it."

"Yeah. Sorry," Anen said, and sat down next to Elle. She seemed to be taking this about as well as could be expected. "At least it's not some weirdo in the house?"
"Yea, at least." Elle squeezed her eyes shut, as the horrible image if nearly-naked Mom came back into her mind to haunt her. "Yuck. That's just disgusting, having those bits..."

She blinked. Anen also had those bits.

Opps.

Elle quickly added, "Um... I mean. Not used to it. Having a male in the house. It's always been girls."
