...//Solo - Impatiently Ever After
The Ceremony was done, a success by all counts. He had been able to fill a small part of what he considered his duty in aiding the Crown to his Throne. It wasn't enough; Yu wished to introduce himself to his Lord, but...there were so many things to be dealt with first.
Like taking care of his host's spawn. They were so young, so small and in these difficult times it took effort to keep them well fed and out of trouble. Children born near the End of the World...blessed or cursed, depending on how one viewed them. Yu felt fairly ambivalent towards the children, Joss and Dan. They weren't his though he would do right by Fragment and take care of them as best he could, even after the beast had been fully devoured into himself.
Yu's eyes narrowed at the balls of fur and fluff rolling around on the furs of animals and Other that had been hunted during the various weeks. Fragment had dined upon demonflesh more than once, but those hides had not the softness required for young ones, so they were put away, put aside. His eyes sought the oddly-marked coat not of his host's spawn but of an Erras. Zhijian would not be happy about that; he knew that his Brother Dragon had befriended several of the equine creatures...unfortunately, one did as one had to.
The Law of Predators. Of Life. Darwinian and all that.
Fragment hadn't thought about the ramifications of devouring a creature that might belong to another; he had lain eyes upon the beast, marked it as prey and then hunted it as surely as any jungle cat a fat ptarmigan in the bush. Yu had allowed this as his host's body needed fuel as did the spawn and Ashoka as well. The ramifications of their dual actions towards beasts, mortals and others encountered during the Weeks preceding the Ceremony would be dealt with later. As the situations came up.
Yu's tail flicked with annoyance. He wanted to be with Creation. He needed His Dragons, His warriors and Children. A Dragon King, removed from his Lord and Master because there was so much to be done before he was able to do so...
So much frustrating, agonizingly mundane crap for him to take care of before he could do as every fiber of his being bid him do. For the moment, he would simply reign it in and move as quickly as he could to complete his duties and move towards what he really wanted.
Harmodius.
