Something was Wrong. All sorts of bad things seemed to have been going on for quite some time, but there was something else, something bigger amiss today.

Sean, in typical mortal fashion, wanted to stay inside and not leave the house. Mortal fear and paranoia built into him by the silly newspapers he read and the stupid television he watched, Gelezis suspected. But really, though, the god could not fault them at least for wanting to look closer at disturbing things.

So, ignoring the protesting of the previous owner of the body he had moved into, the Overlord of Magnetism decided to follow the advice of Phaedra and seek out the others. Admitting his own ignorance would be unpleasant to say the least, but at least once he had learned what he needed to know, then he could do what he pleased in response.

Feeling as though he had walked this path before - perhaps Sean had been to the Pantheon once before? - Gelezis headed to where he found the crossover space to get to the place where he would be able to find at least one of the others. The Something that was wrong did not change as he moved to the other plane, though. Gelezis felt a surge of fear mixed with excitement, and fought to keep the emotion off of his still-shamefully mortal face; whatever was going on was big. But he had to know.

It had been early morning when she had left. So many things were still wrong and though Yeti had wanted to come along, she had refused telling him to remain with the others. Of course he had protested, drooled all over her, and promised to be good. He would have been at least as much as he could ever be.

Her pace was slow and for a long moment, she stood staring at a garden wondering where all the beautiful flowers had gone. Much the way her own had she suspected. None bloomed and only a few were even a green. They mostly looked sickly but they all kept trying to revive them.

As she walked, Lisana glanced about her at the deteriorating buildings, streets, and trees. Branches that had collapsed were dried up and falling apart where they lay. None had even been collected for wood.

It had been in the midst of her search for some sort of life- some hope that she gasped in sudden pain as something slammed outwards into her senses as much as her body. Driven to her knees, she fought to breathe, the very air around her suddenly suffocated and choked her. Tears formed as she struggled, but failing to get to her feet. For the longest moment she could think of nothing but drawing in sweet cool air. But when she did, it was stifling.

What was this feeling sliding through her? Fear? Deja vu? Feeling the wetness on her face, she reached up to touch the tears, the bubbles popping from behind her. She was laughter. Not sadness. Why was she crying? She had the strangest sensation of dread slide over her. Something was wrong and she shivered, hands shaking as she pulled herself to her feet. Then she began to laugh an eery almost maniacal sound that was soon swallowed by tears again.

"Is it all going to end already? We just got here..."

((disregard my post, Ivy said that those of us in the pantheon who will be there should post in the grigori thread))

Soaked in a shiny layer of sweat, Eddard rose from his bed after the dream state induced by Eid that was interrupted by "the event." Passing by the mirror, the only thing hanging on the wall, he could see his eyes were rimmed red showing through as purple beneath his blue flesh which was also a great deal paler than normal. He sleepily sighed, forcing the final remains of the tiredness away, Eddard felt as if he had slept for days. Perhaps he had. Crossing the room, he approached the door and exited his room.

You mentioned age old oaths being broken? what do you mean by that? he thought to Eid.

Not even I know of the old oaths that bind our existence, but the wave was ancient, archaic, the kind of repercussion that occurs when something shakes the planes, and the epicenter was downstairs.

What would you have me do?

So willing to serve, you are, in the face of impending crisis? If only you would serve me in such a fashion.

The two were quickly impatient with each other and their exchanges were only the tip of the iceberg that was their struggle. That was hardly an answer.

Do as you will, insolent. I have nothing to say that you care to regard.

Eid had the truth of it this time. Eddard made his way downstairs onto the ground floor.

Perhaps what was wrong was strong here after all, Gelezis decided after he stumbled into the side of a building. He had been disoriented, as though hit on the head, since the Something Wrong had come through, rousing Sean screaming in his bed the previous night.

The god himself had not really felt it so much as -not- felt it. And, like now, he was still clearly more scrambled up inside than he cared to admit.

Stumbling again, Gelezis caught himself on a wall, which promptly gave way, crumbling to dust. Hissing softly to himself - he definitely wanted his own stronger skin back first of all - he shook himself off and tried to shrug off the blunder as he brought his cut hand up to his lips to brush away the blood.

As he approached the building that was decidedly the Pantheon, the god wondered if he should call out for anyone, or if it was dangerous. The latter seemed like the more obvious one, with the way the atmosphere of the place felt.

"Why are we here?" Sean demanded, finally seeming to get a hold of himself. "It might come through again, and I don't know if I can survive it. And that would suck for _you_ if I died, so it's not like I'm saying this for my own benefit or anything."

He sounded so upset and terrified. Gelezis felt another surge of fear and excitement, but nothing else. Misaligned poles. He would have to fix himself, and that would take time with this stupid mortal body. Especially if Sean was going to be a distraction.

"I want answers," he replied aloud, his voice monotone. "And if whatever that was happens again, I do not think it will make a difference if we are in this world or yours."

(I've been trying to get this to happen, so I hope you don't mind if I do it now since this has pushed it into action for Eftemie and Lisana. They will be at the pantheon. XD I promise. It'll just take a post longer.)

Pressing forwards, she forced herself to move. Molasses would have been swifter to walk through and there was nothing in front of her. But she knew it was not entirely physical. She- and Eftemie always avoided, running from the things that hurt. Shivering as if from an icy blast of wind, only not, Lisana picked up each leaden foot, forcing herself onward. This time she would not fail. She couldn't. Yeti and all the others counted on her.

Even Eftemie needed her to finish this or both their lives meant nothing. A crazed laughter echoed around her again and she turned, trying to catch the person smirking so. Blinking in surprise, she clamped her mouth shut tightly understanding it was her own voice. Closing her eyes in pain as she began to realize that this was the portion of her she did not like rising upwards, the goddess grit her teeth.

"I refuse."
she whispered. "I will do this." Vaguely she remembered the direction that Eftemie had once taken though the memories of it were scattered and distracting. Then her teeth clenched tighter and tighter until she heard the grinding sound they made. She stood tiredly refusing to fall again. Her face turned slightly red as she focused on forcing herself to move. She needed help and Eftemie was the one who would make her stronger. It's why she was chosen.

"Damnit, Eftemie! I need you to help me do this! Wake up! I can't do this alone!"

The walls in that one little spot began to shake and shudder. An echo of Lisana's voice slammed outwards, tumbling everything there in disarray. One small spot she had relegated to her host though that was not the way she had wanted it to be. She stirred sleepily, but felt a sudden urgency from the one who had taken her life from her. What did she do now when such a frantic call came?

"Can't do this alone?" She waited silently for a moment. "Wait. Who is this? What is it you need?"

Lisana blinked in surprise, then tears slipped down her cheeks without stopping. "Lisana. Laughter. Remember? I told you. I need you. Do you not understand? It's within you to laugh and help inspite of pain. I was not strong enough last time. I will not be now. Not alone. Please... you have to help me. Something is very... wrong. I don't know how to explain it."

Eftemie stirred more listening to the words. The things she had kept in her memories began to disappear but she didn't pay them any heed. Her help was needed? How?

"Together we are stronger, Eftemie. Together. I think it's the only option now."

She listened carefully and then sighed. In all her life she'd never turned anyone away who was in pain or really needed her help. It was not within her to do now even though she had lost Tempest. A part of her would remain. "What do I do now?"

"Nothing. I can do it. Just let the walls fall away."

Everything began to whirl between the two and the goddess sat down abruptly on the ground. Her arms wrapped around herself as she started to become more than she had been. Her body began to shake violently, but then it seemed to subside after a moment. Her face darkened as if fighting, struggling for something unseen. Then it relaxed and a faint smile twitched her lips. Wiping a tear from her face, she sighed, still shaking as pieces within their mind swirled, moving together. Images flashed into view, sliding by as others pushed forwards.

For a time they were lost as everything moved trying to fit. Disjointed and paniced, both shifted uneasily and then were lost within. Her eyes had closed once more, gasping as someone new was shaped, pulled, prodded, and pushed into being. Then her eyes opened. Faint memories dropped down as she glanced around her. She had been walking somewhere. Memory of the pain and something hitting her dropped into view.

"Finally."
she whispered to any that would hear her. She was new and Lisana.

He had quite literally appeared from nowhere. The space had been empty a moment before, but suddenly filled itself with a flesh-bound form in the next.

Jynn felt sick, which wasn't a normal occurrence. He had a stomach of iron and the chances for becoming motion sick were a million to one. To feel the foundation beneath him drop away, to exist in positively nothing for one single moment- that was disturbing. The palace had melted away, oozing gold and lacquer down into an invisible drain, leaving him to cling to a tiny little trinket as he was used as the toy of time and space. The prize seemed so insignificant now in the face of the consequence.

But it was too late now. He was just going to have to go wherever this warp-key was meant to take him. He ended up on dead grass, stumbling from the sudden solidity beneath his feet. The skeletal wings on his bare back flared and flapped like the imitation of the childish flailing of arms. There was a sinking feeling in his gut and in his heart immediately. He had little knowledge why- it just seemed like bad juju was hanging in the air like a thick stink. Looking through a wild disarray of white bangs, the treasure hunter tried to get a sense of where he was. It didn't look much different than home; perhaps he could have even been convinced that it was indeed his world, were it not for the complete and utter disgruntlement he was feeling.

"Finally."

That word caught his ears, causing him to swivel toward the sound on the toe of his boot. There was a woman there, staring into nothing as far as he knew. Abruptly, those wings attempted to fold and snap between his shoulder-blades in an attempt to seem less imposing. Not really possible, he thought to himself, while his scarred chest and his tail was still showing. He reaaaaally should have brought his coat along with him, but it was laying somewhere, worlds away, over the head of a sacred temple angel.

"Hey, you alright?" He would ask the seemingly mortal female, stepping closer to her. If she needed help, perhaps she wouldn't mind if she was being approached by some sort of ghost.

Blinking in surprise at the sound of his voice, Lisana simply stared for a moment. She laughed and then nearly cried, shutting her eyes against the tears that she knew would come if she laxed her control. Stronger together but not without pain and some lack of control unless focused.

"Am I alright?"
She repeated the phrase, tasting the words. "As fine as I have ever been. " she replied after a moment, her lips twitching upwards as she watched him again. "This world is topsy turvy and spinning like a top. In trouble. And, it never brings out the best side of me. Instead of laughing, I cry. Too many are in pain at this moment."

She didn't know who he was or why she was telling him and that thought suddenly crossed her mind. He had appeared out of nowhere, but his first concern had been if she were alright. A giggle slipped free as the bubbles behind her increased slightly, rising upwards to pop. Then she shook her head, gaining a more serious attitude as her focus returned. Fear still remained, but with the determination she had needed from Eftemie, they would accomplish what she alone could not.

Her right foot fidgeted a moment, causing the violet markings on her legs to sparkle a bit. For an instant her attention was caught, but then a can rolled against her foot. Dented and dirty, it tapped her and then shifted the other direction as an eery breeze slipped through the area. Reaching for control, she shook her head, turning her attention back to him. Her voice was much more firm and steady as if she had gotten stronger in some fashion. Bowing to him, she smiled slightly.

"I've not introduced myself properly. I'm Lisana, the Goddess of Laughter. It's very nice to meet you, though I think you couldn't have picked a worse time to come. I.... something is very wrong and I think.. it's at the Pantheon where the gods live. At least our memories draw me there. I think you should come along. It is only going to get worse before it gets better. IF it gets better... and we can speak on the way, but I have no time to waste in getting there."

She indicated the direction she needed to go. "Will you come with me? You could perhaps regret it for I do not know what we face."

For a moment, Jynn was wondering if he'd stumbled upon one of the local nutters. She seemed quite torn, the poor girl. It made him almost forget the odd sensation of dread in his heart. Almost. Was she feeling it too? He would listen to her reply, automatically bobbing his head and keeping his thoughts to himself in the meantime. Best to look sympathetic, best to try and glean what information he could from what he hoped was a local. That was what had really drawn him there, after all, whether he was aware of it or not.

He was just not the type to flop around like a fish out of water. Sure, he was probably light-years away from home... from his hoarde. But he would act first, and cope as he went along. It was automatic, and he was constantly thankful for it. He still had the artifact, he reminded himself, perhaps he could find a way to reverse the spell put on it. In the meantime, this was a whole new world to look over. And if this girl and this feeling wasn't some sort of indication of action, he didn't know what else was. As she spoke, he silently slipped the jaded talisman into his pants pocket, nudging aside one of the crisscrossing leather belts that supported the holsters of two pistols.

She shifted, and he did not move, observing her shimmering markings and the bubbles that resulted from her laughter. Goddess, she said. He was in the presence of a Goddess. To him, the word had long meant a carving, pagan and unrealistic in his mind. There was nothing for him to worship, none he prayed to. Only humans had gods, and then those that thought they had the need for them. So far as he knew, they had all died out long ago. But he wasn't about to stand there and call her a liar, especially when she was his only link in this world. With her next words, she proposed he come along with her. Had she any idea of who he was? Should he trust her?

"I am Jynn, vagabond extraordinaire," He introduced himself, quirking his white brows and reflecting a half-smile. Certainly there could have been a little more flair to the action, but it was taking quite a good bit of his will not to wretch or croak when he talked. "If it is the will of a Goddess that such a wretch accompany her, who am I to refuse? I have an affinity to danger as it is, like a moth to the flame you could say. If you will be seen with me, I will certainly certainly come with you." So noble, he was! Well, if the cause served him, it'd be quite worth it. A pale, albeit muscled arm was offered to her, pink scars littering the flesh like jagged veins. He was not lying about the danger. Wherever he would lead her, he supposed, would be better than wandering aimlessly in this new world. A gathering of gods? Now THAT sounded interesting. "So, what's going on here? 'Too many are in pain'? It's not just me that's feeling like they've been flipped onto their head, then."

Catching the sound of voices, Gelezis staggered back against a wall and looked around. There were waves and distortions in his vision, and he was having great difficulty pinpointing the source of the sound by hearing as well. It sounded like a male voice and also a female one, conversing, though he was not totally sure.

Against Sean's incessant urging, the god decided that it might be productive to at least try to get in touch with the sources of the voices. Phaedra had promised other divinities would be over here, so he was willing to bet one was nearby.

"Hello!" he called out; even his shout sounded toneless. "Who is there?"

As his voice echoed off the cracked buildings nearby, Gelezis suddenly felt kind of self-conscious about his current mortal shell. Khakis, a polo shirt, battered shoes that had once been nice.... Gelezis did not even find his host particularly attractive for a human.

Startled, she stopped, teeth tugging on her lower lip as she tried to pinpoint the source of the voice. Her eyes shifted to Jynn as she dropped his arm.

"He might need help."
Without hesitation, she moved towards where she'd heard the voice coming from. It took her a few moments to figure out where he was against the building, but she did finally find him.

"Are you hurt?"
she asked with a smile. A distraction always did work for both she and Eftemie, allowing them to deal with what they had to. She expected the worst, but then blinked in welcome surprise. There was power here. "Which are you? I'm Lisana, Laughter." She reached out to touch his hand gently. He seemed confused.

Someone seemed to be calling, voice muffled to his ears by the wind or more. He followed Lisana without a second thought, only a step behind her. A hand rested atop the handle of one of those guns, not knowing WHAT exactly to expect. Sure, he might need help, but it didn't seem as if either of them knew who he was.

His wariness was eased when his hostess of sorts seemed to find some familiarity with this new soul. Leaning slightly, he observed the male ahead, frowning slightly. She really hadn't been kidding about the pain thing. "I'm Jynn, the lady's escort," He offered. "Can we help you move?"

"Not hurt," Gelezis replied mechanically. "Numb." He stood straight again, looking a bit steadier now if still a little unsure of his footing. "You felt it too, yes? The wave of... whatever that was?"

He glanced at one, then the other of them, waiting a moment for a response before he seemed to realize that they had introduced themselves and perhaps expected the same of him. "Aah, yes, I am Gelezis, Overlord of Magnetism," the god added, lowering his gaze. "Trapped in the mortal form of a man named Sean. He knows even less than I do of what is going on, though, so hopefully you will not end up having to speak to him anytime in the immediate future."

Gelezis's head lolled to the side slightly when he looked up again, and he gave the one who had introduced himself as Jynn a brief awkward smile. "Did you say you were the lady's escort? A servant of hers, then? Strong-willed, if you are still standing."

"We are all trapped by our host in the beginning, Gelezis. The girl's strength, Eftemie, was needed and I am the result of she and the goddess. It does not pay for the Goddess of Laughter to be crying and unable to stop and that was what the wave had caused within her. With focus and distraction, I think I can manage though some memories and pieces within me are still settling. So I am the result of both and whatever has happened." Lisana smiled faintly, her eyes a bit bright as she blinked away the thought that they were both there and not. She was not really either and yet so. She had their memories, but felt a paradox of joy and sadness in that if she did not push herself, she would be in tears again.

She smiled at both, shrugging before teeth tugged her lower lip in thought. "I was on my way to somewhere when it hit wrenching into my very mind and soul. But now I think we need to be at the Pantheon. Something awful has happened to have that wave appear as it did. The feeling of dread just continues instead of leaving. That cannot be good for any of us. I doubt many survived, but I must help those I can on my way there. Our survival may depend upon it. We faded once, Gelezis. I refuse to do so again."

"And as for Jynn, I had just regained my feet when he appeared. No servant. A new friend perhaps." She smiled brightly at Jynn and then at the other god. "Two new friends, I guess. For what does not kill us, brings us closer and makes us stronger?"

It was a lame joke at best and its uplifting was minor to her, but at least she still was able to make a few jokes even if bad.
