As the female seemed to make it without too much trouble, Jynn found himself amused and pleased. His hands rested atop his hips, head cocked to the side as he rewarded her with a broad grin. Not bad, it conceded to her, Not bad at all. However, they still had a lot of ground to cover- the treasure hunter in the meantime was convinced that his feline companion would be just fine. He was not breathing hard, but his eyes were bright with ambition and the eagerness to continue. Oh yes, he was a bit of a show-off. Performing his stunts with a witness was just so much more interesting to him.

He considered the fact that he kept his wings bound a personal challenge. They were quite great for balance, would haul him over and up walls with the dexterity of another pair of arms. He certainly had made due with them after a while, the cumbersome damn things. Now he moved to continue on their journey, leaping off with a lack of visible concern for the way gravity sought to end him.

Lamp-post to building, running across rooftops and at one point telephone wires. Jynn was the amazing draconic monkey, taking death defying leaps and maneuvers as if he really did possess functioning wings. He tried to pick a quick path that would also be semi-safe for them to move through, but there would be more than one occasion where their follow-the-leader game put them on walls that crumbled just as they were stepped on. Eventually Jynn stopped looking back and just hoped Cynosure was right behind him or finding a suitable path of her own. Soon, the obsidian behemoth of the pantheon was just barely a few rooftops away, and the pale man stopped to finally rest on the stable surface. His tail kept him balanced, a good layer of sweat now slicking his arms and neck. He could pant now, it'd been a pretty good distance over the city, but his stamina was quickly recovering while he breathed. He glanced over for Cynosure, made a grand gesture with his arm. "The Pantheon!"

Evolution or whatever strange force had created Cynosure had similarly gifted her with balance and stamina, and as a result, she was able to keep up with Jynn with little trouble. She resented his tail, though she insisted to herself that hers was just fine. He could just stand on his and all that, and... well, when she really thought about it, it was not something that was all that useful to her. It had caught her attention, though. The girl decided that he did look awfully naked, without fur like hers, and so she took comfort in that fact.

In spite of the area's dimness catching her eyes and making them seem to glow a little already, Cynosure's gaze seemed to light up even more - this time with intense interest - as they approached the Pantheon. It was not exactly what the cat-girl had been expecting, but then her expectations lately generally consisted of crumbled structures not unlike the ones they had climbed over to get here. Considering, she thought the great building looked pretty darn welcoming.

Now, she had not only set out to do something against her Master's will, but also succeeded at it. The girl's tail bristled a little again at the thought, and she glanced over at Jynn.

"Thank you," she told him. "How did you know how to get here?"

Well, they were here now. Why did Cynosure seen so anxious? Jynn fixated her with an openly curious look. Was she happy or not? She was one then the other. Well at least he had a question to answer, and a thanks as well. Not something he got often in the form of words. However, he rolled his shoulders in acceptance, lightly nodding. Yeah, sure, fine, it wasn't a problem. In fact, he'd taken some benefit of it as well.

"I've got a good sense of direction, I guess. One of my many talents, you could say." He smirked, dragging fingers through his pale locks shamelessly. "Being here before helps. Even if my memory wasn't so sharp, how could I forget about this place- just look at it! But now that I've brought you here... I want to know why you really wanted to find it." A slight quirk of his lips, a shrewd sort of stare.

Cynosure was about to respond - a lie, again, most likely - when she suddenly dropped down into a crouch on the roof, tail swishing behind her.

Sean wandered the street below, looking around at street-level; apparently he had not yet noticed the pair on the roofs. He had carefully weighed his options when Cynosure had turned up missing, not exactly thinking it safe enough to out alone, especially to the Pantheon. But on the other hand, with many people dead in recent weeks, he thought it very likely that he would not run into a soul. Anyone he might find, especially here, he decided with some cynicism, would likely be able to make quick work of him if they really wanted to, regardless of whether or not he was alone.

Still, he had not come unprepared. The mortal man had located a pair of swords among his antiques, and had sharpened the blades to usefulness. A longsword hung in its sheath across the man's back, and a slightly tarnished smallsword graced his hip. He had not taken fencing classes since college, but it was better to rely on that than on nothing. Sean found himself once again regretting turning down his parents' offers to let him take martial arts classes back when he was a child, instead favoring soccer. But he was in good enough shape, and figured that, if he had survived this long, he was not a weakling.

He worried about Cynosure, though. The girl had claws and seemed like she could handle herself in a fight well enough, but she also came off to him as so flighty that the cat-girl was probably more at risk of getting lost than injured.

The Pantheon seemed like a likely destination, though, considering how important the place had become in his life recently. Important as a place to avoid. And, well, he just hoped curiosity had not yet killed the cat.

"Cynosure!" he called, glancing up and down the crumbling cross streets as he walked in a slow circle in the middle of an intersection.

Jynn didn't know what was going on, but when the cat creature dropped, so did he. His mismatched eyes searched the skies, which he half expected to start raining fire and brimstone, the other buildings, their surroundings. His tail was arched slightly so as to be able to swing at anything that came with the blunt white spines, but there was nothing. Nothing.

Then he heard a voice, familiar in a way. It was calling, he was calling... Jynn leered. Absolutely grinned across at his cat counterpart. "Bad kitty," He whispered across to her, backing up to the edge of the building "Someone sounds worried about you... I'm tellin'."

He looked over his shoulder, down into the street for whoever was shouting. Faces, now, he could remember a face a lot easier, even if it was about ten or twenty feet from the ground. Today was full of surprises. Without another noise, he leaned back, falling off the building and kicking off the wall as he fell. He managed to spiral horizontally a few times, then flip upright just in time to latch onto a lamp post. Sean could see him, certainly, tail wrapped about the pole and barely hanging on with one hand.

"Gelezis! You bold b*****d, this is no place to be taking a stroll!" He was joking, and yet he certainly wasn't. He was still clearly feeling playful from earlier. "Did you lose something? You'll never believe what I've found." Things pieced themselves together easily enough. Cynosure said she had a master -had she said a god?- and Gelezis was a god. Gods always had master complexes.

Even though it was pretty obvious that Jynn was right, it still frustrated Cynosure. Ears tilting back, she bared her teeth at him in a hiss, even as her tail fuzzed up with fear at how she might now be punished. If Gelezis was merciful, he would not do it in front of Jynn, at least.

While Sean was far from a blademaster by any stretch of the imagination, he still had his smallsword out and ready by the time he whirled around to face Jynn.

... Right, Jynn had only met him when Gelezis was in control. It was a little awkward, but then Sean was pretty confident that his own interpersonal skills exceeded those of the deity in the stone in his hand. Which meant he should probably put the sword away.

"Hello. This is, uh, Sean, actually," he told Jynn. It felt kind of like when he answered the phone and the person on the other end mistook him for his brother or something. He lowered the point of his sword, and scrubbed his free hand through his hair.

"Lose something?" he went on. "Yeah, why? Did you find a white cat-girl with no clothes but a red ribbon in her hair, by any chance?" Ridiculous question, but then with how everything else was going recently, anything was possible.

With a sigh of defeat, Cynosure hopped lightly down from the rooftop as well, hanging her head a little as the end of her tail curled back and forth slowly.

"I'm here. I can explain, Master," she said, kneeling and keeping her gaze on the pavement.

"You can save it for Gelezis, don't worry," Sean assured her, feeling thoroughly awkward with her crouched at his feet and Jynn there and all. He studied the girl for a moment, then glanced back up at Jynn and quirked an eyebrow.

"You didn't try to steal her or anything, right?" By his tone, the antiquary did not think Jynn the type, but felt he might as well ask anyway. "And she's not hurt?" Probably easier to ask him than the groveling cat-girl anyway.

So it was the man behind the god. If possible, Jynn looked even more curious, though his features relaxed to a more neutral one. As if he could scare the other off, looking as wild as he certainly felt. He was about to respond, ask questions, say something witty, when Cynosure appeared. He blinked, the sudden change in her manner surprising him. Bristling, proud one moment and groveling at a mere mortal's feet in the next. That's what it looked like, anyway. As they spoke, the pale man loosened his tail's grip on the pole and slid the rest of the way down.

"She's not my taste of treasure, no offense," He was caught a bit off guard by Sean's question, but a slow amusement passed over his features. His snort suggested how ridiculous he still thought they were, more of an answer than the one he was about to give. Clearly he was not one who caught onto tone indications very well. Scarred fingers gestured to Cynosure, directing attention to her crouched form. "Does she look hurt? If so, not by my own means, I'll assure you. We didn't take an easy route to get here, but she seemed adamant about seeing yon ruins. If anything, I kept her out of trouble." Sure, sure, anything to give himself some credit. He didn't know how he should act around this Sean fellow... so he took the default route instead, which meant he wasn't about to censor it. He didn't pause in approaching the man, only stopping a couple feet away, out of range of an easy sword swipe. Openly, he appraised the man as if he'd never seen him before.

"You know who I am?" He didn't know how this whole thing worked between gods and hosts. It seemed like Sean did know him, or at least found him familiar.

Cynosure stood again slowly, her tail lashing behind her in embarrassment. She knew Sean would not be mad at her, but no matter what, there would be no way to avoid Gelezis's knowing. Sneaking out really had been a dumb idea, and it bothered her that she had even had to sneak in the first place. Crossing her arms beneath her breasts, the girl hunched her shoulders a little and watched Jynn with envy for his freedom.

Sean nodded a little, glancing up at the looming shape of the Pantheon. Why had the girl wanted to go there? He himself was frankly kind of afraid of the place, and would not have minded never going back. Of course, he grimly assumed he would have little say in the matter soon, but he found himself thankful that he had not had to return to the place now to fetch Gelezis's cat girl.

"Yeah, I know who you are," he replied to the strange man, nodding a little as his thoughts returned to the present. "Even though Gelezis had control the last time we all met, I was still there. Just... kind of watching." Sean grinned sheepishly as he tried not to think too hard on how creepy that must sound. Or how creepy it actually was.
