Cosine smirked at his whining and raised an eyebrow as she slipped off of the bed.
"Well, we cannot have that now can we. Drowning in a bath is hardly a dignified ending for a god."
She leaned over and took his hand, giving it a light tug.
"Come on then Mr helpless. If you're good I'll wash your hair too."
"Hardly." He had to agree with that. But he would certainly prefer no ending at all, thank you.
He had to bite on his lip in order to keep some resemblance of a pitiful expression, and he simply flopped out of bed. Yes, he indeed felt very lazy, and he certainly deserved it after all that, he liked to think. This body was still somewhat mortal, after all, and the Guide had pushed it far by traveling the expense of the tree - his legs, in particular, still felt quite sore.
"Good ?" He blinked, once twice, in faked confusion. "What's that ?"
Cosine laughed and moved quickly to slip his arm around her shoulders so that he could use her as a support if he wished. It was somewhat distressing to see hims so weak, though at the same time good to have him back.
"Well, if you don't know then you are going to miss out on the rewards that come to those who are good." She grinned
Ankou wasn't weak, per se - certainly walked in a straight line and didn't stumble - but he was tired and such was apparent. Both physically and on a more unseen way - he certainly wished he would not have to exert his powers for a little bit more - fighting the dragon's well-meant aura had sapped much out of him, and sending the last group of souls down the World Tree had been the breaking point.
"That is completely unfair." He started, opening the door to the bathroom. He could overhear Jinx from here, still happily chattering about her journey to Anima and Lenneth, which also kept them out of his hair quite nicely. It made something occur to him, however. "Ah... Lenneth was not too much trouble, was she ?"
Once they were in the bathroom Cosine slipped away from him and started to turn the taps on the bath. Water came gushing out, cold of course. Whilst it warmed she went to get some of the fragranced oil that theBaadris tribe had made from left over lotus petals.
"Lenneth? No, no trouble at all. I barely saw her." she admitted as she poured a few drops into the now steaming water. "I am afraid I am not a very good neighbour. I was hesitant to make myself known." A sheepish smirk crossed her lips
"Ah, no, I think she just listen very well. I asked her not to bother you too much." He shrugged. Looking back perhaps he should not have. It might have provided a distraction to Cosine.
Oh well. What was done was done.
While she busied herself with water, he busied himself with... clothing. Well, what little remained, really. His shirt had became bandages before being discarded all together in a moment of spite, and he'd completely forgotten to take it back. It was probably still on that large leaf, catching the curiosity of a few mer-people.
Again, oh well. He could not be especially bothered to care.
He finally worked himself out of those old jeans, very much full of holes and... things. Like algua. Fun. "I don't think even divine intervention can save those..." He muttered
Cosine stuck her hand into the bath water and swished it around a little, turning to look at the rather gross jeans on the floor.
"Yes, I think they're ready for the garbage." She turned off the taps and walked over to him. "You must have had quite an adventure."
Her arms wrapped themselves around his neck and she smiled up at him.
"But now, time to relax."
"Quite a journey indeed." He had to admit. He certainly had much better to think about than ruined jeans, of course. Ankou moved to settle in the warm water and closed his eyes. Oh, yes... that did him quite well indeed.
"Yggdrassil... was the biggest, most amazing thing I have ever seen." And coming from him, that probably meant something. Not that his list of amazing sights in this lifetime was a very long one. "Infinite, in a way. A natural maze. So many roots and branches, paths and twists and turns. Enough to make anyone's head spin."
And they had mapped this thing. That was a miracle in itself, really
