Welcome to Gaia! ::

It was hours after waking when Rio finally managed to 'escape' his rooms - his servants and followers had been keeping him very busy today, and would have been more than happy to continue to do so, but he'd finally insisted he really should be out and about for at least some of 'his' day. What exactly he was going to do, he wasn't rightly sure yet, but something would probably present itself.

He ran a hand through his hair as he descended the stairs, hoping it wasn't too much of a mess; he hadn't taken the time to check himself before leaving, as he'd wanted to avoid being further...delayed.
Delicate hands clutched at worn cloth that barely hid the frail body beneath; a woman-child with wispy blond hair and butterfly tattoos along her left arm moved nearly silently through the Pantheon. She didn't know what she wanted nor what she sought...but having seen so many beautiful people had brought her a heavy heart.

Blessed knew - just knew - that she would never be beautiful like they were...not even when compared to her God, the dark Dragon King Yu. She was moving quickly, head down; that was how she nearly bumped into a dashing, handsome Love God.
Rio was paying much more attention to his hair than to where he was going, but as it turned out, that wasn't such a bad thing. He liked bumping into pretty girls - she wasn't conventionally pretty, perhaps, but this was Rio, who was of the opinion that every woman was pretty, simply by virtue of the fact that they were female. He was of similar opinion about men as well, but that was currently neither here nor there.

He caught his balance as quickly as he'd lost it, and reached to steady her if she needed it. "Oh, I'm sorry," he said with a friendly chuckle, assuming the 'blame' for the collision. "Are you alright?"
Had Blessed any idea that Rio - or any other living creature save 'Father' Harlan and perhaps Lord Yu - thought her pretty, she likely would have thought them touched in the head or maddened (and not unreasonably so, as the world had very nearly Ended For All Time). Thank heavens she had no idea what the Love God thought - it saved them both some embarassment!

"Ah! My fault entirely, Lord." The girl blushed when Rio touched her to steady her no matter who innocent it was; she wasn't used to being touched anymore. Only Yu, with his plush fur touched her - even Harlan did not. "I am unharmed, Lord...Thank you." Blessed kept her eyes downcast after one quick look at Rio's person to ascertain that he was indeed one of the Gods as her Master was one of the Gods. Even if she were blinded, she would have know, for all of the Gods here felt much the same - powerful. Ether. Mana. Whatever it was, she was sensitive to it and could always tell.

This particular God had a twist of something...funny with his power - and those wings! They looked like candy...and he, well...he reminded her of those dashing pirate 'heros' from the covers of many a "trashy" romance novel. Also from various paintings and such in books...books that were very likely mouldering piles...or dust. It made her sad - almost as sad as being alone did.
Hmm...who was this one, and to whom did she belong? He guessed by her manner that she was some god's human servant, or else a particularly meek follower; she didn't want to look at him except to get her first glance. It was normal enough for most gods, he supposed, but Rio didn't like it. He was not intimidating by nature - or in appearance - and more or less tried to avoid coming across as traditionally...godly? He just wanted everyone to like him.

"Please, call me Rio." Titles were all well and good, but names were better; he was still trying to get Nashwa to just call him Rio, at least sometimes, but she addressed most people formally anyway. He was not an exception, which made it easier to accept. The god bowed slightly, his smile at its most charming. He did not touch her again, though, as she was rather shy-seeming, or he might have kissed her hand. "Might I ask your name, Miss?"

Love was in an exceptionally good mood - not that he was often in a bad mood - as a result of what he'd been doing all day. He had a very easy confidence, and his usual flirtatious air was a little less playful and more real...he was good and he knew it.
If he asked, she would tell him. It was in her nature to obey, to comply. She'd been very well trained, oh yes she had. Even so, when he told her to "just" call him Rio, her eyes flickered up to his for the briefest of moments, unsure. Yu was not so informal...nor were the other gods and goddesses she'd seen around the Pantheon (or met, while at her Master's or Father Harlan's side). "If...you are certain, then I shall do so, Lor--ah, Rio." Blessed fidgetted and tugged at the ragged hem of her tunic-style shirt; she didn't want to be alone today, but neither did she wish to take up and/or waste a god's time.

This one looked important. But nice.

"I am servant to the Lord Dragon Yu, Blessed." She bowed back to him, very low and respectful; her choppy hair fell forward and bared her neck to him and the faint tip of something colorful could be seen peeking up from the neckline of her shirt. "It's a strange name, I know...but that's what I'm called."
"I am certain," he confirmed, his wings fluttering a little. They were looking somewhat...less than glorious today. It wasn't uncommon for him to be missing a candy pinion or two, whether from sleep or even catching himself on something, but certain activities were hazardous for the delicate appendages. He usually broke off corresponding pieces to at least make them 'even,' but he hadn't taken the time today. Well, too late now! Hopefully he didn't look too disreputable.

"It's a beautiful name," he assured her, meaning it honestly. "Yu? I've not had the pleasure of meeting him yet, but my daughter has, Adi. She mentioned you as well." Maybe it would please her to know that she'd been noticed? Servants could be so vastly underappreciated, so easy to become accustomed to and be overlooked.

"I'm not keeping you from anything, am I?" Rio didn't have anything 'better' to do, but there was a possiblity that Blessed was on some errand for her master. "I'm always glad for company, but I don't want to anger your Dragon by stealing you away."

"Not that I wouldn't anyway," the god added after a pause, winking, "But I wouldn't want to get you in trouble."
Blessed nodded again, her lowered gaze catching the motion of his candied-pink wings; even ragged or missing pieces, they were impressive to her: she'd never seen something so beautiful. Slightly translucent looking, shimmery with the look of candy - but of course they couldn't be made of candy! - and the 'bones' holding it all together! Just lovely...and oddly enough, that didn't clash with his rougishly handsome face and pirate-like dress. Rio also smelled like cinnamon to her (it was her favorite scent!) - very different from the scent of her Lord Dragon, any of his servants..or even the lovely Lady Adi.

At Rio's praise of her name, her blush deepened and when he said that Lady Adi had remembered her, she looked absolutely thunderstruck. She really wasn't used to being noticed (or remembered) anymore and she needed a moment to compose herself before answering him. "Thank you, Lo- ah, Rio. Lady Adi was very kind and my Master enjoyed her company very much. - she is your daughter?" Yes, yes it pleased her to know she'd been remembered, it also made her happy to know that Adi was Rio's daughter, that the werewolf had such a kind parent taking care of her. "I'm certain Lord Yu would be pleased to meet you...he is easily found, at Lord Creation's side most days."

With a short shake of her head, Blessed reassured Rio that she was not being kept from anything: today she had no work, not from Harlan, not from Yu or anyone else. This day had a lot of meaning to her, not all of it good, so those that held her dear (ie: Harlan) tried to gently encourage others (ie: Yu) to let her alone on this day. "No, I'm not doing anything for my Lord, no errand or task today. Just...well, if it were a job, I'd say I have today off." Blessed's face was cooling and she looked up at Rio, a timid half-smile tugging at the corners of her lips. "Are you very busy today, Rio?"
"She is." Love confirmed 'Lady' Adi's - she was probably so tickled by that! - relation to him with a nod and an unmistakably proud smile. "I fear he may not find me as entertaining as he did her, but I will seek your Lord out, perhaps someday soon...not today, though." Today, he was far more interested in the Dragon's servant than in Yu.

"Busy?" Rio chuckled. He was probably among the least busy of the gods...not necessarily a good thing, but he was rather happy just meandering along. "I haven't decided yet - should I have today off, or should I be working?" The analogy amused him, and it was somewhat fitting. He could go out and be seen, or perhaps work some mischief, but he wasn't sure he felt like it; he wanted to stay here and flirt with Blessed. He liked that his attention made her blush, and he wanted to give her more of it. Certainly there were others who would enjoy his company - others not already attached to another god - but Blessed was here now, and he could hardly pass her by for a vague 'someone else' he had yet to meet.

"I'm feeling a little lazy, I think," he decided after a moment of not really thinking about it, and offered his most charming grin - and his arm. "Would you like to not be busy with me?"
Blessed wondered at Rio's obvious pleasure and care for his child; her own parents...ah, she cared very little to remember the woman that bore her into this world - and the man that supplied half of her genetic material was unknown. She regarded Love with a sort of wistful longing, but shook herself back into reality quickly; if there was something she knew with certainty, it was that daydreams got you nothing but a quick fall onto one's face.

"Working? Like Cupid?" The mental image of the man before her wearing a diaper and shooting arrows into people's butts caused her to try and stifle a giggle; a melodic sound that quickly grew and grew until she was smiling openly while laughing. Oh, but she didn't want to upset him - but he was smiling and being so nice to her!

By the time he offered her his arm, she was no longer laughing, but the smile remained on her thin face; she was beautiful in her own way when she smiled - not classically or even in a way that would ever turn a man's head...but happiness softened the hard lines of her face and allowed her to drop the guarded expression she usually had. "Yes...I think I'd like that." Blessed shyly slipped her arm through his, blushing the whole time though he was only being gallant.
"Very like," Rio answered with a grin. He was Cupid, quite certainly, or at least the basis for Cupid. "Only with considerably more style, I like to think." He would take 'pirate' any day over the traditional Cupid imagery, thank you very much. A pirate who, ideally, stole hearts - but took exceedingly good care of them.

For the moment, he'd settle for another smile. "Should we linger at home for our day off, or shall we have an adventure?"

It was worth it to ask, since he did not yet know her very well. Perhaps she was tired and wanted a lazy day, or maybe she'd like a change of scenery.
"Well, you're not wearing a diaper...it's an improvement, I think." Shy, but pleased to be with a gentleman giving her attention as any woman would be pleased - and though she was not fresh not unscarred - she was that interesting, changeable creature known as woman.

Blessed thought about it - two options and which to take? Which road to follow today? "I'm not...I've never been very good at picking what to do...maybe we should go out?"
"Over a diaper, anything would be an improvement - even nothing would be an improvement." Rio laughed. He wasn't wont to parade about in nothing at all, however, as there were few societies in which that would be considered proper. There was something to be said for imagination, anyway.

"Then an adventure it will be," he agreed easily. "I can't promise anything especially rousing, since I'm relying mostly on luck instead of planning, but...we will see where luck takes us!"
Blessed stifled a bit of a giggle at Rio's comment; he was not far off from the truth - when it came to bodies larger than babies, naught at all was far better suited than a diaper. There had been situations, before Gehenna had happened and culled the elderly and frail, upon which mortal adults might have worn diapers, but that was something far away now...sort of like a ghost of a memory.

"Adventure based upon luck sounds quite adventurous indeed, Lord Rio. Especially if you chose to go about the adventure wearing nothing." The girl blushes furiously and looked away; that had been far more forward than she had meant! Mostly, she'd been talking about how they would not have gotten far - at all, really - if Rio had been nude. What woman wouldn't have gone after the Love God?
