Welcome to Gaia! ::

Wow it seems like I share a love for books that are HORRIBLE movies.

Harry Potter and The Prisoner of Azkaban was the WORST of the seven films.
I also agree about Eragon- the books were wonderful and the movie was just awful
I just saw Cirque Du Freak recently and want to read the books, so I can't say anything bad about it yet.
The Golden Compass was also terrible in relation to the book.
A Series of Unfortunate Events was also a big fail- I mean, who makes ONE movie based on THREE books?
Blood and Chocolate - Great book. AWFUL movie. I couldn't even watch the whole thing. I got about a half hour into it, was like 'Wtf is this?' and turned it off.
I think the number one worst movie from a book was Ella Enchanted- the only thing they got right were the character names. It might as well have been a different movie entirely. The book is NOTHING like the movie.

I can't think of any more at the moment.
Hmmmm

Yah Eragon sucked I will agree on...
Twilight: Never shall again!
Eragon sucked like dragonball z's.

I'm so happy that everyone hated Eragon...I really liked the book and then I watched the movie and WTF. Ugh. I'm not sure if the Eragon adaptation is the worst ever or if Inkheart is. They're both abominations though.
Series of Unfortunate Events was bad but at least it looked nice.
Harry Potter and the Prisoner of Azkaban was terrible...I'm REALLY happy to see so many people hated it too, all of my friends like it the MOST. Ugh. Goblet of Fire was bad as well but at least I can rewatch it.
O! and all the teenage crap made from Shakespeare's plays...although O! was definitely the most insulting.
The Legend of the Seeker, which is a tv series I know but it was like someone had read the first half of the back of the first book and decided to make a show from that. God awful. And it's my favourite book series, too.
The Twilight movies are really terrible; the books aren't anything to praise but they also weren't so in-your-face emo.
Queen of the Damned was embarassingly terrible. Everyone involved in that film should issue a public apology. I looooved Interview with the Vampire, it actually follows the story and the characters are all exact (except for Armand...wtf happened there) but WHY DID LESTAT HAVE BROWN HAIR in Queen of the Damned? And Akasha is supposed to be really pale...like all vampires. Just. Ugh. That one may actually be the worst adaptation I've seen.
Oh, and the new Conan is terrible; way to rape the character, Hollywood.
Burton's Alice in Wonderland was bad too. I know it wasn't a direct adaptation but I don't care, don't use the name of a book if you aren't going to follow it.
Percy Jackson was reeeallllyyy bad and I didn't even read the books.

On a happy note, the Game of Thrones tv series is fantastic.
Most of adaptations disappoints me. Harry Potter series, The Lightning Thief, Narnia, True Blood, etc a hell lot of them I can't seem to remember because I blocked them out. sweatdrop Well maybe because I put such high expectations, and have a character already alive in my mind, until I can't relate to movie versions of them.
pet cemetary, movie sucked, book rocked

The movie Eragon was the steamiest pile of fecal matter I've EVER seen. They had so many plot holes in it and parts removed from the film that if they were to ever make a sequel, it'd be so loosely based on Eldest that it would barely be related what-so-ever to the books. "Loosely Based on the Novel" would fit right in... I'm actually pretty sure this is why they HAVEN'T had any new movies based on the book in, what, six whole years?

I personally think Lightning Thief was made into a terrible movie. I will say it had a few good hilarious moments, but character and plot wise? Gosh it made me cringe...they meshed so many characters, cut out so many important plot...it was done so badly that you CAN'T even make a second movie, because there would be no way to continue it. crying
Quantum of Solace besides the title all it has in common from the short story it takes it's title from is the name of the main character as well as a few supporting characters. Basically the producers just took the title and few of the characters and made an entirely new story.
my sisters keeper is an amazeing book..the movie suuuucccvkkkkssss ..and they changed the ending

lol, I haven't even seen the Eragon movie. I'm kind of afraid too. though i didn't really enjoy the book very much so

Oh, and The Golden Compass, anyone? The book was fantastic, but the movie was just really weak. And then they left off at a huge cliffhanger and never continued the series because they realized they suck.
I agree so much on The Golden Compass, I loved that book.
