Worst movie made from a good book

Okay what is the worst made from a good book movie you have ever watched and why? Mine would have to be the Series of unfortunate Events movie simply because you can't really cohesively put together a movie from a series of books like that with live action. If you ask me had the movie been animated, it probably would have been a lot better.

lol, I haven't even seen the Eragon movie. I'm kind of afraid too. though i didn't really enjoy the book very much so

Oh, and The Golden Compass, anyone? The book was fantastic, but the movie was just really weak. And then they left off at a huge cliffhanger and never continued the series because they realized they suck.

I'm surprised, I thought they got better as they went along, I felt they started to follow the books more.

The only thing I remember about that movie is Meryl Streep.
I'm guessing that's a good thing now D;

The only thing that was good about Series of Unfortunate Events was Jim Carrey.

Eragon
Harry Potter and the Half Blood Prince
The Golden Compass.

And Twilight the book was mediocre at best and then the movie just turned it to complete and total garbage.


Here's hoping The Hunger Games doesn't suck..
