Welcome to Gaia! ::

Now, I've only read one of the books, (Curse) but I do enjoy the series. I know it's not really possible to enjoy a series when you've only read one book of it, but I still do.
This is a series of books by Nancy Holder and Debbie Viguie about a young girl Holly Cathers and her family. She discovers the witch blood in her veins, and that she has two cousins, Amanda and Nicole Anderson. It's a series about their life and death experiences with witchcraft. I don't want to spoil anything, and that was a horrible summary, but it's really good. I'm just wondering if anyone out there has read the books, or heard that the rights to the Wicked movie went to Dreamworks Animation. I'm kind of worried about the rights going to D.A. because when I think of them I think of Shrek and Madagascar. (Kids movies, and they got the rights to a young adult novel. In my mind, this = NOT GOOD) Who knows, maybe they'll do fantastically. I'm not going to judge yet. Hopefully this movie actually comes out.

Thoughts?

P.S.- Even if you've just seen the books in a store, or know someone who read them, you're still welcome to post. Post what your impression of it was.

(Please, no flaming if you hated it. Everyone has rights to their own opinion.)
I have had most of the books for quite a while. I read them a long time ago and I don't really remember what they were about. I just remember that I really like the series. I finally got the last book but haven't had a chance to read it yet. But now that you say that they are making it into a movie I'm gonna have to read the whole series again. As for the company that is making the movie, I'm just gonna be hopeful that the movie is true to the book. I hate when books get made into movies and they completely change the story. As long as they stick to the story I'm sure the movie will be great.
I've actually managed to get all the books now, and I've read the ending. I was not pleased with it because it drove me insane. She also killed off a few of my favourites. Now that I've read it all through, it concerns me that Dreamworks got it. I mean, it is a young adult novel. I suppose it would just be because of when I think of them, the only movies I remember are animated 10-yr-old area types. This is actually quite a dark series, and I honestly would have been happy if one like Walden Media or another with a more "mature-esque" list of productions received the rights.
