honestly, my biggest reading-goal is just to read through all my books on my bookshelf as quickly as possible. i compulsivly buy books at yard sales, library book sales, used book stores, etc. so i have TONS of unread books.
plus there are way to many to post. i know that i have a tons of V.C. Andrews books, and some stephen king, and tons of stuff ive never even heard of.

it always amazes me how much stuff i can justify buying by simply saying "It's only a dollar!" O.o hence my over stuffed shelves.
Wow, reading this thread has given me a warm, fuzzy feeling inside. Just seeing the excellent taste exhibited by all is like a ray of hope cutting through the gloom. I really have no set summer list, since I'm in the workforce summer has lost all meaning sweatdrop , but usually I just wander through the bookstore, find something odd that catches my eye, and take it home. The clerks at my local Borders know me quite well by now, and often when they see me walk in drag me to something that just came in that is right along with my tastes. The only author that I really want to read more of is A. Lee Martinez, the books are just so delightfully twisted and a completely original take on the supernatural. Refreshing. I'm more than open to whatever else comes my way, and if nothing piques my interest, I'll just bury myself in my extensive collection.
Surprisingly I'm very excited to read this summer ^__^
my list thus far:
Bloodhound by Tamora Pierce
Everything is Illuminated by Jonathan Safran Foer
The rest of Tamora Pierce's Daine quartet
Castle in the Air by Diana Wynne Jones (sequel to Howl's Moving Castle)
Geology of the Lake Superior Region by Gene L. LaBerge
oh yeah and someone recommended the Eragon Series to me, but I'm not sure if I'll get to it this summer.
The Once and Future King by T.H. White
Catch-22 by Joseph Heller
1984 by George Orwell
anything & everything by Chuck Palahniuk

That's about it for now.
my summer reading list:
Hatchet by Gary Paulsen
Esperanza Rising by Pam Munoz Ryan
the good news is that i only have to read Hatchet because I already read Esperanza Rising heart . It was such a great book. It talked about a girl named Esperanza who lived most of her life as a rich Mexican girl who lived on a Mansion. Then, her father somehow gets murdered by these bandits, and Esperanza and her mother need to go to America where they can earn a living without their father around. Esperanza has to get used to working for the first time and has many up's and down's throughout her new life in America.
