Actually, the Munchkins aren't the same size as everyone else.
Quote:
They were not as big as the grown folk she had always been used to; but neither were they very small. In fact, they seemed about as tall as Dorothy, who was a well-grown child for her age, although they were, so far as looks go, many years older. -the first book
Aaaaanyway, other than that, great points. Although, I love the movie almost as much as the books. I try to imagine the movie as a different story altogether, since it really is quite different from the original story. :]
Ahhh~ my favorite character.... Well, I don't really have an established one, but off the top of my head, I'd have to say Dorothy. I watched the movie first of course, so I had her in my head as a bubbly, sweet, dreamy person, but when I read the book, it became apparent that she was much more mellow and practical than I had imagined, but also very kind and intelligent.
Whiny? I recall her freaking out only four times in the whole book first book, all with very good reasons.
-after she found out about killing the witch of the east
-after seeing the pile of dead wolves
-after finding out she had to kill the witch of the west to get home
-and after the witch of the west tripped her to get one of the silver shoes she was so proud of
But overall, a very mellow, serious girl.
