One step closer to keeping this fourm alive. Opinions on Ruth P. Thompson? I personally am happy at how she kept Oz alive, but I wasn't as good as Baum.

I didn't read 'the famous forty'... I only read the books by Baum. I would, however, like the opinion of anyone who has read them. I love Baum's world so much, I can't bear to think of anyone screwing with it! XD

I have read two and am about to read a third. All of tthe characters are a bit different since Thompson seemed to have her own feel on Oz. After a litle while though you can get used to her Oz world. I suggest trying them, but they are not as good.

I found a graphic novel that someone made of Oz a while back, and I keep meaning to order it. It looks interesting. But what makes me happiest is that all the characters look correct! ^__^

I just found it one day while browsing online... And now I want to order it! I looked and looked for a picture of Jack in the graphic novel, but couldn't find one, sorry! I've only been able to find brief descriptions of what it's about, and a couple of preview pages. sweatdrop *sigh*

This is an Oz thread, of course people have read it. I love all of Baum's work and that one is not my top, yet it is wonderful. Thompson is decent as well. I give you hug for reading oz books.

They are not easy to find so best of luck with it. Amazon has a nice collection with the first fifteen of them.

I've always wondered what it would be like if they tried to remake 'The Wizard of Oz'. I would hope it would be more like the book, and less like the movie. And I think Dakota Fanning would be interesting as Dorothy. But that's probably just because she's the only blonde little girl actress I can think of right now. XD
