So any recommendations for books I should read?
I enjoy books like these

-Tithe/Ironside/ Valiant
-Wicked lovely/ Ink Exchange
-All Harry Potter's
-Blood and chocolate
-The Dark Materials
-Blue Blood series
-Narnia
-Twilight Series
-Abarat
-The Host

I haven't read a lot of those books, but the ones I have read I like. Other books I like that are similar are The Mortal Instruments(City of Bones, City of Ashes, City of Glass) and His Dark Materials (The Golden Compass, The Subtle Knife, The Amber Spyglass -- but I've only read the first). I hope that was good for you

Actually, this post IS for requesting recommendations--maybe you misread something?

If you're looking for a good book try "Battle Royale" by: Koushun Takami

Haruka Kiriyama

Was that made into a movie? If it's the one I'm thinking of, I loved it! But...eww.

What muskadillo said - this thread is precisely for people to ask for recommendations. It's what I encourage. It's how I want it used. The thing you're NOT supposed to do is what this person did, and just shout out the name of a book you like and tell everyone they need to read it. It's NOT going to be a suitable recommendation for everyone, no matter how much they liked the book, and just shouting the name and telling people they must read it hardly gives a person enough information to decide whether that's actually a book they'd like to read or not. There's a thread for listing your favourite books, but this isn't it.

These are a few books I like:
Eragon
Eldest
Twilight
New Moon
Eclipse
Breaking Dawn
Harry Potter series
Series of unfortunate events
Inkheart trilogy
Little House on the Prairie series
Artemis Fowl series
Charlie Bone series
Howls Moving Castle
A single Thread
Magyk
Flyte
Physik
Nancy Drew series
Charlottes Web
Dewey
Tuesdays with Morrie

That's all I can think of right now heart biggrin

Hello there, perhaps you can recommend some books for me.

I prefer the genre of horror, psychological, mystery, or thriller type.
Books such as Goth by Otsuichi, Ring by Koji Suzuki and OUT by Natsuo Kirino. (which are all amazing by the way)
I can name a few more if needed.

I am not interested in predictable books, I want something that is unpredictable and exciting..
Nor do I want a long series to read, (If you are recommending a series)
And please, no vampire books.

Thanks. ;D

WHAT?!? No vampire novels?!?!? *snicker* I don't blame you a bit.

Did you see what Haruka posted a few posts up? "Battle Royale" by Koushun Takami sounds like it would be right up your alley.

I would wholeheartedly recommend "The Name of the Wind." by Patrick Rothfuss. The characters were likable and believable. Though the beginning of this novel is a tad slow, but when it picks up it's hard to put down.

My main complaint would be the way the story is narrated, I can't shake the feeling that, I know at least a little of the hero's fate, however I would say this story is more focused on the journey, not the destination.

All in all I would rate this book 4.5/5, I know this wasn't a very in depth recommendation, but I wanted to avoid as many spoilers as possible.

I reccomend these in less detail lol
1 Skulldugery Pleasant by Derik Landey
2 Twilight By Steph Meyers
3 Malice by Chris Wooding
4 Ghost Hunters by Marley Gibson

If you know who this is COOL!

I'm looking for a new book series that deals with anything that's supernatural can anyone help me
