Welcome to Gaia! ::

So with Valentines Day a week away, how about a little love for The Hunger Games?

What pair is it that you ship? Or who do you just adore? Post and share interests! And no bashing or hating, please. This is all about the love.

Seriously, I will warn you if you post negativity in here. D:

And be warned from here on there will be spoilers, so don't go crying if you didn't heed my heads up!

All right I will start! I love Katniss and Peeta! <3 I think what sealed the deal was that it wasn't a cut and paste love story. By the end of the second book, I was thinking "Oh, super, happy ever after" sort of ending, which I was dreading. But no, there was an complete 180, and I was shocked! So, these two get my vote.

As for a character alone? Cinna. There is just something about the way he carries himself, the way he talks. I just love him. Lenny is pretty close to what I pictured him as, and I was in tears when he died. I really wanted to believe that he was being held somewhere, being tortured by President Snow. ;_: But anyway, Cinna. I love you.

Okay guys, your turn! (BTW anyone else think their should be a sub-forum for this? Ehh, Gaia mods? *nudgenudge* biggrin )
I love Peeta and Katniss.
I cried at the end of the second book. I couldn't believe it!!

D: I was up late at night finishing Catching Fire. I could hardly sleep. I had to get Mockingjay the next morning!
When I finished Mockingjay I was kinda in denial about the deaths. I would sit there drawing a now dead character and think " She cant be dead she was only 13." Or " he's not dead. He cant be. He just got married." Then I gave up to book reality. They are sadly dead.

Seriously when I was waiting for the next book I was " omg what's gonna happen omg Omg omg." While jumping up and down. That was usually after a had a LOT of coffee.
Re-reading Hunger Games to refresh my memory before the movie comes out, I picked up on a detail that I had barely noticed before - Katniss shares my birthday, May 8th.
Rue and Tresh were cute, I think. Too bad almost all the contestants of the first book got killed, I liked Cato.

In My Opinion, Katniss, Peeta, And Gale All Seemed Bipolar, But Over All The Books Were Good.
I Loved Cinna Just Because He Was From The Capitol And He Wasn't All That "Fake".
I Also Liked Effie And Flavius. . .
I Hate How District 13 Treated Them. . .
I Hate How Everyone Is So Upset With Rue's Death, I Mean It's Sad But She Would Still Have To Had Died At Some Point.

Cinna when it said he was draged out i only thought they betten him i relized he died in Mockingjay i was like No not Cinna & grow a heart Rue was so cute in the book i was cying when she died and i harly cry
I'm still on the second book, Catching Fire, so I'm trying to withhold an opinion on the whole 'Peeta or Gale' thing until I finish all three. At the moment, I'm leaning towards Peeta, but I feel like that might just be because we had him around for the majority of Book One, while Gale was barely seen. So for know, I'll just say I like both. Honestly, I'm sort of with Katniss on this one, anyway. Why are these boys so hung up on love when there's way more important things to worry about? Ah, well. They're teens in love, I guess.

Honestly, my two favorite pairings are kind of strange. Even though they died (which was sad), I liked the idea of Cato/Clove. I hadn't thought of it at all until Clove died, though. When she yelled Cato's name and he started screaming for her and tried to save her, before crying by her body. Up until that point I'd never given them much thought, but that scene was just really hit me. We get this one, little glimmer that there's more to these two kids than crazy, knife-wielding, Careers and then one of them's got their head bashed in. And then the other one dies. It was sad. I wish we could have seen more of them.

My favorite pairing is probably the strangest; Effie/Haymitch. Yeah, I don't even know. For whatever reason, I liked Effie Trinket right from the start. Just something about her comically upbeat, oblivious nature. It cracked me up. And then there was Haymitch, constantly drunk and cranky, and the two were always driving each other crazy. Somewhere during the end of the first book, I decided I wanted their relationship to develop. I can't even really say why. Probably just because the two were almost always mentioned together. smile Then I had a friend tell me (because I told him I wasn't going to finish the books if Effie died) that Effie ends up being arrested or something and then joins the rebels. Now, that could be my friend making up nonsense and I have no idea what happens to Haymitch, but in my mind, the seeds already been planted and that ending pretty much implants 'Effie/Haymitch' in my mind permanently. There's just too much potential there to be ignored. biggrin

Katniss Everdeen, the girl on fire ♥
--------------------------------------------------------------

As in my signature, I support Peeta and Katniss together. It took me until Mockingjay to fully ship them, though, but I'm glad I did. Though I'm disappointed in the way the series ended, I can say that I'm somehow glad with how things turned out for the two of them. There was also a lot of development between the boy with the bread and the girl on fire, and I love that in a couple. They're not the type that falls in love instantly and immediately get a happy ending - what they've been through makes them a beautiful pair.

Then, I also ship Gale and Madge. Silly, since there's not much interaction between the two of them, not to mention that Madge is rarely shown. But I've seen a lot of potential in them since Catching Fire. In fact, I even wrote short ficlets of them, but never posted them online.

Finnick/Annie and Haymitch/Effie are also pairs I happen to ship. Finnick/Annie for obvious reasons, and Haymitch/Effie just because.

I honestly never thought of Haymitch and Effie! Now I want them so much!

Sorry, just had.to.stress.that.little.detail.

ahem, I completely shipped Peeta and Katniss and...

wahmbulance spolier!!!! wahmbulance

wahmbulance wahmbulance When they ended up together, I was so happy, I actually screamed, and threw it in my friends faces, (they all ship K+G)

wahmbulance I hated when finnick died! I mean dude could have any girl, and he picked annie!!! I love it!

I have to say, one of the funniest quotes in the book.
"No, shut up and eat your peas." ~ Katniss Everdeen.

Katniss Everdeen is Everdear.

Oh, my friend and I had a chat about Cato and Clove, I am totally with you there. (Like a secret pleasure :3)

You know, I was totally feeling Effie and Haymitch for a while, I even shipped Cinna and Portia! D: I think they both would have been cute together <3

And I can totally understand holding off until you finish the series! D: Read in here carefully!

Yes, when I first started Mockingjay, I was like oh man, here it comes. Happy ending. NO! I liked how it ended, actually, but everyone is entitled to their opinion, yeah? (Haha I ship Haymitch/Geese as a crack!Pairing xD)

I think you should share your Gale/Madge ficlits! I'd love to see how you interpreted them! <3

Seriously, when Finnick died, I was so shocked, I didn't realize it until the end of that scene. It was so sad. Saaad.

Katniss I think was just a bit mental due to the situation she was thrust into. As for Peeta, I didn't get the bipolar feeling until book three, you know? Because of the jacking and all that. And Gale just started showing his true colors, now that they were in a rebellion, and he could say how he felt. But I can see how you came to that thought 3nodding

Cinna is really one of my most favorite characters in the series. I adore him.... Aww Flavius <3 and his bouncy curls. (I thought Caesar was great, too)

13 was just... Ugh. And you are most certainly right about Rue. She was going to have to die, and I think it was better she died the way she did, versus Katniss having to hunt her down and kill her with her own two hands. if Thresh had been alive still, he would have slapped a rock so hard up her head, just.... And Prim was really the one to have a screwed up death, I think.
