Um, no. Sparkling sucks, but it's hardly the only thing wrong with Twilight. When your vampires are whiny little high school emo kids, then you shouldn't be telling anyone else what is and is not a vampire.

You want a vampire novel that ought to be a movie? Try Mike Mignola and Christopher Golden's Baltimore. Or Guillermo Del Toro and Chuck Hogan's The Strain Trilogy. Or Kim Newman's Anno Dracula series.
