First of all, I apologize if a thread like this is already in existance, or if any of this violates any of the rules This is only my second time starting something, so please let me know.

But lets get on topic, shall we? For those who have read Twilight by Stephanie Meyer and any of The Vampire Chronicles by Anne Rice, which one do you find to be your favorite, and why?

I probably shouldn't be the one to start this topic really, because I haven't read both series. I've only read up to Memnoch in TVC, and only a couple pages of twilight. But from what I have read of Twilight, I'm going to have to choose TVC over it. Yes Twilight is probably a very good book and I have no intention of bashing it, but the pages I read didn't really leave me wanting to read more. Whereas -When I first picked up The Vampire Armand (Went Backwards, Started at Armand, then Lestat, then up to Memnoch, and saving Interview for last.) I found myself not able to put the book down and loss sleep trying to finish it.

Your opinions, please? Are there any other series you found to be more intersting than the both of them?

Best thing to do before posting a topic is to look at threads currently around.

@Luna: Are you agreeing with something, or randomly quoting?

@Lapin: Yes, that was done. It was a skim though, thus the apologies.

Then it shouldn't have been hard to pick out the Twilight stickies here (stickies are at the top so very hard to miss) or in the Entertainment forum or any number of Twilight related Threads that spread across the forums like a plague.

No, I didn't miss those. I will agree that there are too many Twilight threads, and I myself get a bit tired of it sometimes. But if it doesn't interest you, don't click it, ne? Now if you insist on clicking and reading through, mind staying on topic? Which do you see better, and why would that be?

The picture says it all. <3
Twilight, because of Edward 4laugh heart

Twilight because it grabs attention. It produces a world of romance.

That's the only thing you like about it? Never mind the fact that Vampire Chronicles is well written while Twilight looks like it was written by a 14 year old fangirl?

You think abuse is romantic?

That being said, I don't like The Vampire Chronicles either. I detest Anne Rice's style as much as I detest Meyer's. So I'll throw a third option into the ring and say Sherlock Holmes.

Bored? Read this sequel.

DID SOMEONE SAY SOMETHING ABOUT MANLINESS?!?
I'm thinking a glittery wang isn't the most manly swingin' d**k...

Anne Rice's book are written much better than Twilight.
If you aim for a story with an actual plot then you shouldn't be reading Twilight.

Noelleice13, a world of romance? Did you read any of Anne Rice's book? I just finished Armand's recently and his love story with Marius is more romantic than Bella's!

I used to think The Vampire Chronicles was the worst before Twilight entered the picture, but I'm still not impressed with either. Anne Rice was the one who lowered the standard of vampirism so much that people like Stephany Meyers could turn it into a sparkling emo fad. stare

Twilight all the way go Team Jacob!!!!! dramallama

Here

There's also a Lestat vs Edward thread, but since it's not exactly the same, I'll leave that out. XD

Anne Rice all the way.
