What is wrong with you, Stephen King? You could have left that completely out of the book, and nobody would have noticed.
I know, I read that and I was like !!!.
I thought it was because Beverly was trying to kind of, I'm not sure, conquer her fears of being what her dad though she was/turning into, but that never made much sense to me.
King says it's because sex is an act that kind of moves people from child to adult.
Which makes sense because the book is so much about growing up.
gotta agree with you there. Still grosses me out to this day. I have read books with worse content, and yet that scene of them having sex in the sewers makes me ill.
